The Ultranova VST that comes with it is pretty good, and makes the whole process really easy. I've used VSTs to control various other hardware synths, and the Ultranova one is a lot more polished than any of the others. It doesn't feel like an afterthought. You should give it a go!
I have a keyboard that has built in sounds, and I plugged it into my computer, but it plays a sound from a plugin on FL, but the speakers from the keyboard play the sound from the keyboard, and they are two different sounds, and I want to be able to play the built in sounds on FL without any of the other plugin sounds playing. How could I do this? Thank you.
That's the Local Off setting, which is covered part way through the video (the section with feedback loops IIRC). Check the manual for your keyboard, it should tell you where the setting is (might require some menu diving). Local Off stops the keyboard reacting directly to the keys on the keyboard (i.e. locally). Or just turn down the volume on the keyboard ;) But I'd encourage you to dive into the settings and read the manual, as there's quite likely a few other things you will discover if you do that!
i love how your british accent is balanced ...not to strong...not to light but just right __1question: can u do this with the "Massive Demo" or must u have the full program?
My understanding is that the only difference between the demo and full version of Massive is that there's a 30 minute timeout (so you need to reload the plugin); and you might not have access to the all the presets or might not be able to use your own. I'm not sure, because I have always used the full version. Not sure if this question refers to my other video about MIDI ports, as Massive doesn't feature in this video, but it *does* in that video. I'm only using external hardware synths here. All the plugins are just editors for the hardware. If you are asking about controlling Massive from a MIDI controller, then surely that will work in the demo. Yeah, I have a pretty neutral "generic British accent". Confuses the Brits who always ask me where I'm from. If they're from the north of England, they think I must be from the south; if they're from the south, they think I must be from the north. The truth is somewhat more complicated :)
thanks, its extremely helpful to know what parts/cable to use
Just the first 3 and half minutes helped me get my synth working. Thanks fella!
Good to hear, thanks!
This is one of the best tutorials I have ever watched on fl. I have been using synths for years and you still taught me multiple new tricks
Thank you this was very helpful.
You're most welcome!
I've not actually tried using my Ultranova with FL Studio yet but I have used my Bass Station II with it.
