  • Welcome to the lyric video of "Axe of Faith," an epic Christian folk metal track based on the legendary missionary Saint Boniface! Hopefully, this combination of metal and folk instruments provides an enjoyable way to experience a glimpse into the epic story of Boniface. In addition to Christian Folk Metal, this could be perhaps called Christian Celtic Metal.
    Lyrics:
In pagan Germania, under shadows' reign,
Where thunder's false god held sway,
A servant of truth and dawn arose,
    To brighten the dark way.
From distant shores he journeyed far,
    With courage in his heart,
To fell the "sacred" oak of Donar,
    And play his ordained part.
The pagans watched in fearful dread,
    Expecting Donar's fierce wrath,
Boniface, not fearing false god's threat,
Cleared the way for the Lord's righteous path.
Boniface, the Harbinger of faith, with an axe in hand,
Striking down the oak, in this ancient Saxon land.
A shrine to darkness with a swing of an axe shattered,
Donar's false glory on the ground in splinters scattered.
By the power of the cross, to break down but build anew,
The radiance of his witness to the faith shining through.
With his mission's sacred resolve, the oak's wood he raised,
To build a house of God, who forever will be praised.
By the power of Christ's Gospel, the true God's might,
From pagan tree to blessed church of light,
Boniface turned night's darkness to day's bright.
The thunder's roar was silenced now,
By hymns of God's love and Christ's peace,
The pagan fears were swept away,
    And darkness found release.
By letters and by his blood he fought,
    The heathen heart to sway,
With every deed, word, and thought,
He strove to carve a brighter day.
From Fulda's halls to Geismar's field,
    His legacy was cast,
A beacon in the stormy night,
    A light that ever lasts.
By the power of the Christ's Gospel, true God's might,
From pagan tree to blessed church of light,
Boniface turned night's darkness to day's bright.
The martyr's crown, he wore with grace,
    In fields where darkness fell,
    His name resounds through history,
In tales that we now tell.
With axe of faith and cross of Christ,
He forged a path so bright,
    Saint Boniface, the fearless one,
    Defender of the light.
How I Make These Music Videos:
All of the music on this channel is made with AI music generation software called Suno. The lyrics are from my poetry. In many cases, I have written the lyrics entirely in the "old-fashioned" way, although in several other songs, I've also begun to use ChatGPT to aid in the process. However, these typically require extensive preliminary inputs and significant manual revision and fine-tuning before satisfactory results. Lyric videos are made with Pinnacle Studio 26.

Big fan of the European style of power metal and folk metal as genres, but as a Christian I have to balance the listening with other fare given the heavy pagan influences. As a student of history, I also love songs that make me stop and do a little research about their content. You seem to pull content of Christian figures and events from across history and denomination which I also appreciate, an acknowledgement that the Body may extend beyond our own expectations, all the while still within Christ. Your songs are an encouragement, please continue.

I'm not a Christian. If anything, I respect the mythology of the old gods. I dislike how good this song is. Well done.

@@EchoesOfTheSacred Well Bonifatius was murdered near, what is now Dokkum. most likely because of his missionary work. And i thought a informative song about his time in Frisia, could be quite educational. As far as genre is concerned, I'll leave that to you. But may I suggest, a Bardcore/Christian Folk Metal mix?

@@DraganGrazic I suppose that's a possible topic for another song about him at some point (though probably not in the very near future). I'll also keep the Bardcore idea in mind. Would have to experiment a little. Thank you for your comments.
