    This man was convinced by Fieldy to listen Limp Bizkit's demo and that allowed them to record Three Dollar Bill Yall$. That was the start of my music life. Love this man.

    He brought the psycho out of some of the bands he worked with in a healthy and artistic way. Korn's first albums and Slipknot's first albums were killer releases during my teenage years

    • @fmilton20
      @fmilton20 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      I wouldn't say "healthy". He tossed potted plants at Joey while he was tracking. He caused mental breakdown's with band members. He is a genius and I am glad he pushed people like he did because we would not have the recordings we have.

      @@fmilton20 Ha, true but depends on your definition of healthy, I guess. Breaking someone down mentally in the right way makes them stronger in the end, like a boot camp. Greatness is made through struggle. So, healthy in my book

    I had the priveledge of recreating for Ross the Bigger Muff pedal that Korn used on those first few albums. I went to his studio and what I thought would be a nerve racking experience, ended up being the most down to earth welcoming dude with such a great outlook. Never stop being you, Ross

    Slipknot's self-titled got me into metal and it was the catalyst for me being extremely obsessive with music. It was that good!!!
    Iowa and Korn's second album also were the most cathartic records to me as a kid. They were like therapy in a weird way. I put them on and all my emotions were validated, and presented in a way I could enjoy rather than suffer from. Wish I could personally thank Ross for his pivotal role in crafting these albums

    Back in the 90s, I regarded this guy as some kind of sorcerer. A mysterious force. Pre-internet, little known about him back then - except the fact that his name was credited on many legendary albums I acquired and still listen to. What a legacy. I can’t understand the shade that gets thrown his way sometimes. Like the music he was involved in or not, he made things happen in ways that no-one could ever entertain. Out of the box. Much respect from the UK

    You have to love TH-cam. As a kid I saw this dude talk two sentences on the Korn, 'Who Then Now' VHS back in 1998. We knew he produced all the best records at the time, as you would always look at who it was that on the CD sleeve, but knew nothing of him except those 30 seconds on the Korn video. Honestly, you would buy a CD without having heard of the band if you saw, 'Produced by Ross Robinson'. Now, we get interview after interview and can look back into the times that we all loved, but had vitually no access to at the actual time. Now you see a lot more of bands online day to day, and it would have been great to have seen more of Korn, Deftones, Slipknot, Fear Factory etc. when they were coming up besides what was on VHS or on MTV. And more of the influnencers behind the scenes like Ross Robinson. This is great.

    Wow, he is realizing his own mistakes on some records. God damn it.. "God is in the mistakes." I love it. But needles to say, the Cure self titled record has amazing mixing and great band work. I love the album.

    Nice 🤘 You gotta get Jasta on to help spread the word of the podcast. Would you ever do a show about rankings or a Q+A session?

      I wanna do The Jasta Show for sure! doing a solo episode and answering fan questions is an idea being thrown around right now. -Garza

    Some of my favorite records were produced by Ross Robinson. Dude is a legend.

    Is it me or is Ross Robinson like the Crispin Glover of Metal? He reminds of Lane a little bit from Rivers Edge if he grew too be more chill.

      Ross is an entitled rich kid, mom and dad were therapists. He took the little things that heard mom and dad talk about and exploit the fucked up shit that real people that endured that pure narcissist even If I love the korn slipknot and glassjaw albums.

      @falcoretheminiluckdragon3060 Wow, I never knew that. That makes a lot of sense, though considering his career and his demeanor.

    Ross has made some of my favorite records ever but lmao if you put this in any random spot in the video it takes like ten minutes to find out he's talking about music unless you land RIGHT on Korn part or something lol
