To clarify anybody's minds who was watching this closedown at the time, the excellent Michaela Saunders gives an excellent closedown announcement over BBC2's 1993 Christmas ident, which is considered - according to pres fans - a "mini-epic". Hats off to Michaela Saunders - again - for providing us all the way through the end of the ident.
Also, because the clock was not shown, I can guess that the time was not 2:40am as scheduled in the Radio Times that day, but (presumably) eighteen minutes to three in the morning - of course, the early hours of Christmas Day 1993

The film ending (not shown here though) before this closedown is the Vincent Price 1958 horror classic, "The Fly". Spooky, eh?
