I'm loving this machine so far after using manual for years. My recommendation a guide light at tube insertion point as it's lower on machine, in shadow, hard to see in low light esp w/ bright LED screen on top in your face. Reducing the top screen brightness & adding a small guide light where the tube goes would solve the only things I don't like so far & that other people may struggle with as well.
just ordered this one I have the last gen with close to 60k cigarettes on it and it still runs flawlessly. giving it a new home when the new one comes in

I'd keep it as a back-up. ;-)

I finally just ordered this machine yesterday after being cheap for the last two years and using a small manual machine. Can you let me know how durable the powermatic 3 is? Has it been reliable for you over the long run?
I've made over 30000 cigs with mine and no issues so far. It's fast and consistent.

I’ve made 24,000+ and still haven’t had any issues. Don’t use “pipe tobacco” buy, cigarette tobacco. Such as Gambler or Premier. Those two make good tobacco which tastes just like a Marlboro 27 or similar. Didn’t take me time to adjust for flavor at all.

@@muddyriverdogz no. Pipe tobacco isn't the same. Both are tobacco but the way it's cured, cut, and any additives makes the difference. Pipe tobacco in a cigarette form tastes nasty. It has an after taste that will turn you off from rolling your own cigarettes. I use Premier Cigarette Tobacco. It's as good as a Marlboro ( I used to smoke 27's and this Premier is the same to me. Actually, I prefer my rolled ones over store bought now)
The middle bar on my 3+ reads King + top 100's bottom just reads king.
I use the King setting and King size tubes, I'm not sure what your comment means, mine reads the same...
@@sixpack634 Try 100mm and same king size tubes - I can't figure what that even means due to it is the same, only packing mostly is too tight (at first tried king size +).

Just got mine Friday …. It’s Sunday….for hubby and every 5th cig the hopper light comes on not sure why
I would suspect that the tobacco is not falling down into the packer. Or maybe it's not sensing the load. Make sure the tobacco is around 10 percent moisture content and just dump it in the hopper...don't pack it! Anyways good luck!
You should have weighed each cigarette for consistency
Thats all part of my Quality Control program. I just never thought there would be any interest so i never mentioned it... each cig weighs in at 1.1 grams.

I know, I actually have the tube stem facing towards me. It seems wrong but it works better for me.
I bought this on Amazon but my selection screen doesn't say king or 100 it's just all black.
I assume you plugged it in. It sounds like the LCD is no good. Hopefully you can return it and order one from a different website.

@@randyzur859 where did it com from, it will be a trial and error game i guess for the length you want, does the counter display or not? i would return it if possible, maybe its a common flaw???
Over 1000 cigarettes in and no problems. I never reached out to anybody just ran with it. Still working great.

Hi. What is the shelf life of the cigarette tubes? I wanna buy a case but wonder if the glue would eventually give loose...
I have no idea but I bet they'd last a few years in a controlled environment. The internet probably knows better. Did you plan on ordering them online? If so, from where.
I buy tubes by the case and have no issue with just putting them on a shelf in the garage. No glue issues ever.

its worth it. its very consistent if your tobacco is just the right moisture content...10 -11 percent for me.

Hi! The model has an adjustment of the clogging density
its a bit confusing because the old one made only kingsize and had a packing setting, but this one does kings, 100's , and the middle setting is unknown to me.

@@sixpack634 on mine it says king, king+, 100mm. I wish I would have known there was 2 different ones. I got the wrong one I wanted the other one. I have tried all 3 settings and it is all rolled way 2 tight for my liking.
@@rebeccabolsby8523 from my experience I find that the moisture content in the tobacco you're using as well as the type of shred is crucial in how dense the tube is packed. I haven't got any 100 mm tubes or King plus tubes to prove that the machine works while with all three settings. If my tobacco is too moist it packs too tight. Just try experimenting and you'll find what works best also if you don't have one I would purchase a moisture meter, they are about $30
Dry tobacco for about an hour first and it will roll and smoke much better, I've been rolling for 25 year😉
I have had a Revolution (formerly Fresh Choice) for many years and have been somewhat happy with it. In as much as you have had the Revolution in the past, how would you compare the two machines? From the videos that I have watched the Revolution is obviously much louder than the Powermatic 3+. How do finished cigarettes compare as far as packing density? Ovverall in your opinion which of the two machines is better?
Powermatic is way better and the noise is from the end closing machine, not the cigrit machine.I have Probably did around 10000 with the revolution but was rarely happy with the results..usually too tight. It may have been partially my fault because I was new at it. Just about at 50000.on powermatic with no issues. The adjustment for packing pressure on the revolution was too micky mouse and I had to replace it.
@@sixpack634 Thanks for your input. I'M on the fence as to whether to get rid of the Revolution and buy a +3 or not. I'll probably watch a few more TH-cam videos on the Powermatic 3+ before I make a decision.
@@sixpack634 My Powermatic 3+ is supposed to be delivered tomorrow (Monday) and my LeafOnly Finisher is going to be delivered on Tuesday. I'm going to keep my Revolution as a backup machine. I'm looking forward to comparing the finished cigs made by each machine and I know that I'll be pleased with less noise (than the Revolution). Thanks for taking the time to shoot and publish the video.
What's a finisher? I've used the tops brand single cig manual maker, but we recently borrowed this powermatic. After watching the vid I made a quick pack or two, and have no complaints on the smoke. It works perfectly, they smoke perfectly.
@@simspawn it just rollls the end shut a bit so tobacco doesnt leak out in your pack.

I don't think you can adjust density. I find having the tobacco at the right moisture content is crucial. I dry mine to 10 to 12 percent and it's good. Too moist makes it tight and to dry, you get more volume in each smoke so it's tight. My machine usually cycles 2 to 3 times to pack the smoke. Get a 20 dollar moisture meter. The machine calls for higher moisture, but they are wrong.
I can’t seem to find anywhere if I need special tobacco for these machines?Can I just use normal rolling tobacco?
As long as it is in flakes and not long strands then it will work just fine. I use whole leaf and shred it twice.

Thanks, I use players smooth brand tubes. I buy whole leaf tobacco (Virginia Canadian flue cured) and Burley usually, but I try a few different ones now and again.

Mines making me hit the start button twice and doesn't fully fill what should I do?
Seems like it's acting as if it thinks the lid is not closed. I would assume there is a switch on it. Maybe tobacco got into the switch. Try and blow it out a little with air. Hope that's all it is. Just curious, how many smokes have you rolled with it?
Does it fill all the way to the filter or do you still have to pack them
No it doesn't usually fill it all the way to the filter however I usually keep my finger on the cigarette tube while it's ejecting causing it to push tobacco all the way down to the filter. It seemed like the machine let go of the tube a little too quickly. This technique works great I've made over 12000 cigarettes with this machine.
Snip a 1/4 inch off the tubes and it will fill all the way 😉
The 100mm setting tends to do this. Just placing my index finger on the bottom of the tube , opposite the mechanical gripper solved the issue. King plus does great on 100s and doesn't have this issue ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Can this be used to roll cannabis cigs?
I haven't tried it yet, as long as it was dry enough it should work kinda. But it will gum up the machine with resin.
My machine rolls will not change over from 100 to king size so I have to take the tobacco off each end of the cigarette is there any way to adjust that the button on top does not work it rolls the same size no matter what
Are you saying the button to switch from king to 100 ect. Does not respond? If so, did it work before? Or did it just start malfunctioning? I would blow it out with compressed air, but it may be a bad button or circuit board.....
I haven't had to take this one apart yet but I would bet there are a few TH-cam videos on how to.
@@sixpack634 my button did never work from when I bought it new rose 100 is fine but unfortunately I don't like smoking 100 I like the Kings and that leaves the access tobacco on the end of the cigarette so I have to cut it off thanks for your reply
@@jakelong1340 if it were mine, I would definately take it apart and see if I could get that micro switch to work. I had to fix my Revolution machine and it wasn't to hard. That being said, I also have a spare powermatic 3 for backup. I'm pretty sure there's a manual online somewhere.

it is preset and is not displayed. I'm not sure if it could be adjusted by taking it apart. King plus may be more dense than King setting?
Mine keeps getting jammed use good smoke and crisscross and good stuff.any suggestions
Mine has never jammed but I notice if the tobacco is above 10 percent moisture content, it packs a little tight and is hard to smoke. I'm curious, what do you see when it jams, won't push out tobacco into tube or something else? I run my tobacco leaves through my shredder 2 times so I don't have long strings tobacco. I think the machine likes that better.

make sure your tobacco is in the 11-14% moisture range if it jammed due to dry tobacco it is possible that some of the tobacco dust may still be stuck in the injector.
I presume it's because a shell is kept on the pipe only at the end. There is much better construction when a whole shell is kept on the pipe - then tobacco (despite its moisture) starts filling shell from the filter.

Which 100mm do u use?
I only use king size. 100 seem to be less common here and I think they are too long anyways.
