North and everyone else coming in at the end completely threw me off guard. I wish all the characters shared at least 1 scene together. Regardless, I'm happy we got this, glad we have closure. Thank you for everything Red vs. Blue, I'll cherish the memories for the rest of my life, memory is the key.

Ya I think the shutdown really put a deadline on shit feels like this was like halfway or 2/3rds complete when the shutdown was announced and they just had to work with what they got. Unfortunate but I’m glad we got this.

The scene where Caboose, Simmons, and Grif are reminiscing about the past (seasons) was just an amazing scene 🥹 it was really heartwarming

Yeah I loved it. Just some friends laughing together about the past while also giving one final look back at the series.
Along with Simmons giving Grif his discharge papers, it was far and away the best moment of Restoration. It showed that, even with all the budget and animation, RvB was best when it was idiots standing around talking.
In its own way, the original creators made it their own way to say good bye, it was rushed and made me ask a whole lot of question but after the second time of seeing it, it was felt like a good bye to an old friend, even though I hate good-byes.

Something I never realized towards the very end was that Doc was already dead. Something I didn't even pick up on after watching it, because I was like "huh, ok then." like you said, if they were given more time to work with, I would've loved seeing Wash get more screen time to show his mental state, show what's struggling with, people reacting to Wash supposedly talking to Doc. I would've loved to see Church's supposedly have more screen time when talking to the reds and blues, I would've loved that they stayed true from season 13, I personally think that would've been perfect for them to all fight, I didn't exactly like the scene where Sarge tells them to retreat because it takes away the feeling and emotional aspect of them staying together. I think there was so much they could've done better with. I think it would've been really cool to see the fight from season 13 take place as we all been wondering what happened since its never really told to us, and it would make sense for Doc dying but it would also make sense for us as an audience to think "okay, see this makes sense." y'know? there's just so many things i wish they could've done with this and that's saying a lot for me. This season in my humble opinion is flawed, but there is VERY good moments, and I personally just think they don't know what they wanted to do after the masterpiece that's season 13.
Now I will say this. Sarge dying was a very good scene, not to take away from the character growth whatsoever. I think it was good, and wished there was more time Simmons and Griff to mourn but also get the character development, not instantly like how we got it in the season. NOW something I didn't see coming? Fucking Texas coming back, that was so cool and personally one of my favorites from the season overall and the fact this isn't the same Texas, this is a Texas that remembers everything from season 1-13 which is what makes this very overpowered version of Texas and is finally going above her programming, being the badass we know her as, without failure and the ending with Church and Texas walking off in the empty white void, living their life for knows how long before its crushed is so fitting for a story ending for those two. I also liked the ending surprisingly. I know people might think this is a "meh" ending, but I loved the ending and its so in character for Griff. I loved this season more than the others honestly, but again this is a very flawed season but I think its still very good overall. Begins in blood gulch, ends in blood gulch.
Agreed this movie was awesome the only problem it really has is the fact that it wasn't a complete season and how the reds characters were slightly reduced back to their old selves mostly sarge with them abandoning caboose I'm not trying to shit on Bernie it's not his fault seeing as he wasn't given the budget or time to make it a full season which is unfortunate I really wanted to know what happened to doc and donut and what carolina has been up to how wash mental health after chorus like I said it's not Bernie's fault he doesn't have the time or budget all in all this was an amazing send off to the reds and blues

I would say a good chunk of the humor doesn’t land. Also it gives or rather leaves a lot of questions. But emotional scenes are so good. Sarge is my favorite character. I’ve always imagined him going out while trying to help someone else, that extra bit of Sarge holding Simmon’s arms is beautiful.
That problem that i had with this season is that it felt so empty, but not in a soulless way but on how little characters are left. Just grift, Simmons and caboose fighting meta feels so lonely. And when others characters come like Tex or caronline they feel like they don’t matter. They and tucker barerly talked
Yeah Church being a support character, Tucker being gone and Caboose…not quite being Caboose was noticeable. It becomes apparent how Blue-centric the show became especially since the main plot seemed to revolve around Church and Tex. By the time they get to the campfire scene, you notice how many of them are missing.
@DoubleDee382 that campfire scene I think was a very bitter sweet one because they're laughing and sharing stories and memories of times and friends now gone. out of all of them, they're really the only ones left and even that will soon come to an end. imo it was a brilliantly done moment
@@reaper161988 I actually really liked the campfire scene despite the bitterness. I was 16 when the first RvB came out and that just tells you how old I am and how different the world was back when the first episode released. Many of the younger viewers I see on the RT forum who joined later 2000's or 2010's might not even remember the meteoric rise of the Halo and subsequent machinima community.
The campfire scene felt like that. Not just a tribute to RvB but RT and an era when Halo and machinima ruled the world. Once a multitude of players and characters...now just a few diehard fans sitting around a campfire reminiscing about better times.
the great thing about restoration is that it's not a canon ending it's more of a ambiguity ending like season 13.
Burnie set it up for people to choose their own ending.
1. You can believe shisno trilogy is canon.
2. You can believe restoration take place after chorus.
3. You can believe season 15-17 & restoration are simulations therfore season 13 is canon.
Burnie is a genius & everyone wins in this situation
Restoration may have flaws but if you decide to analyze further & take your time with it has a deeper meaning than you think here is what i mean.
restoration might feel a bit dark for characters grim future but I feel like it's more real that way some of these characters die or went their separate ways.
alot of characters don't get a happy ending & some characters do or don't get closure so it's a depressing ending but a realistic one.
In your life you've probably had someone close to you that passed away but you can't let them go but maybe that's not such a bad thing as your memory of them will be with you & live on forever
That's Washington & Caboose
When your young you have alot of friends you hang out with everyday but as you get older the friends you have barely don't spend time with you or at least go their separate ways & have a responsibility they need to do with their lives.
That's Grif, Simmons,, Carolina, Lopez, Sister & Admiral Donut.....but in a way that's also RoosterTeeth
The trauma that happened to you being forced to do something that you didn't want to do will leave you a haunting image but your a survivor & a survivor is able to continue living their lives successfully despite experiencing difficulties.
That's Tucker
You may think you have alot of time in this world but that's not the case at any given point time will catch up & you will never know if tomorrow will be your last but when your gone the things you did for people will never be forgotten.
That's Sarge & Doc
As for love Church said it best a great love is alot like a good memory when it's their & you know it's there it's just out of your reach it can be all you can think about.
you can focus on it & try to force it but the more you do the more you seem to push it away but if your patient & hold still well maybe just maybe it will come to you.
That's Tex & Church
Restoration is maybe the ending you didn't want. But it's ending you needed to see how life really works.
But I like to think after restoration these characters do get their happy ending because in the end you just have to have faith.
That's why I love restoration & It will be my canon ending.
Edit: restoration is about memories, loss, guilt, responsibilities, trauma, sacrifice & love
Season 13 is a hopeful ending.
Season 17 is a happy ending.
Restoration is depressing but a realistic ending

@@jsapphire6940 Also if you remember the prologue Church says just before the title "Let's run one more." Which implies Restoration is just another simulation he ran in the moments before his death. Plus he hesitates when Simmons ask if they were real or not before answering and even admits he's not sure if he got Caboose's voice right.
So you can pick and choose which you prefer post-Chorus. I find that brilliant on Bernie's part.

But not me restoration does have alot of good & bad but the part that stands out for me is the beautiful meaning the final season is telling the audience.
I don't care if some people crtics hate some the RvB seasons but for me it's all perfect in their own right
Restoration might be the final ending, but part of me wants to see a continuation. Here's to hoping that there is no official canon ending, and that any of the endings can be canon. Thanks for RvB restoration Rooster teeth, especially to Burnie and all the creators of rvb.

I think Caboose’s new voice did great.
You can’t mimic Joel- but Joel isn’t the same happy person he was before. Following him on twitter for the past 10 years has peeled back the layers of a sad, vindictive man, who the team was right to feel uncomfortable around.
I understand some people will never move on. Or the change is just too audible for some, but Micheal Malchonian gave us a solid, genuinely caboose feeling performance to end us off instead of not having him.

Agreed. While it was a shame that Joel was not part of this final chapter for RvB, it's fully understandable WHY he was not part of it given his increasingly hostile behavior behind the scenes towards his co-workers over recent years before the company finally decided to fire him.
But yeah, Michael Malchonian did a well enough Caboose impression to provide the character that sense of closure with the rest of the series. Twas fortunate he had both a few PSAs & that one special Death Battle to nail down the voice prior to Restoration.
I think Restoration is a good enough send off for the Reds and Blues. they got some nice character moments and some of their arcs got a nice bow. Church and Tex finally getting to be happy together and Caboose destroying the Memory Unit were both really nice moments imo. while not as good as it could have been, I still very much enjoyed it
I do think the final “Why are we here” should’ve been a callback to Sarge’s speech and just be responded with “Because we wanted to be” and then fade there
"season" implies this isn't movie.
After thinking about it, maybe just maybe this was another simulation which might have been something Burnie had in mind. As I bet from his perspective, if given the full budget and time the other seasons got he would’ve given this last season a much bigger send off with more character development for everyone. So it might just be a cheeky “ah but it could be…” as the Reds leaving Caboose their trusted ally behind really was out of character, and Donut nowhere to be seen, and of course Cabooses voice are a few examples I can think of off the top of my head, oh actually the music. That could also be a hint that it might be because I’m sure everyone noticed the classic tune whenever Tex shows up wasn’t present
That’s my thoughts after processing it, still there were genuinely heartwarming moments in this last season

@@mycallshurt4788 Maybe lol im would be willing to guess that Burnie, Matt, Gus, and Geoff all would have had bigger grander ideas for the last season filled with much more classic Red vs Blue humour, given the company shut down and budget issues they had to do what they could with what they had left
It was good for me. But I do agree with the music part. iirc, Trocadero and RT had a falling out so classic RvB songs including the theme didn’t make the final cut. Fuck I had a huge fear about that and sadly neither side let up so we couldn’t properly hear Blood Gulch Blues one last time. I hope this doesn’t happen with the Minecraft movie.
Lot of times they music sounded louder than it should be and just didn’t fit RvB at all. RvB mainly uses simple guitar rifts to transition into different scenes or when a certain character enters on screen, not a soundalike of Hail To The Chief with horns.
I still think it's a missed opportunity for them not to use "now that we've come so far" again for this ending it just perfectly sums up the life of the series
it would have been really funny if Sarge told Grif that he was his son; just like back in season 1 when Sarge died the first time
I think it would have been fun if they both did it and subverted the joke aswell. Something like.
"Grif, I know I've been hard on you, I may have treated you like garbage. But you gotta know despite it all yer my son and have been since day one... Not biologically of course I have better genes than that. Know that I only pushed you because I saw you squandering your potential. Remember that son."
Its not a matter of the film being “good”. It’s a love letter to us who were with it for the longest time
I really feel like there's something special in this season that obviously got buried in all the baggage around it's creation. Somethings I felt that were really cool ideas that didn't get touched on enough;
We still never had a proper comversation between Tex and Carolina. They fought together vs Tucker, and it could have been really special if they actually acknowledged each other through dialogue or even battle strategy which could highlight their differences and similarities given they are mother and daughter(I know this tex is the memory of the woman(beta tex) who was a memory of the the woman(alpha tex) who was a memory of Carolina's mom but still LOL). Easy moment of them coming together as the 2 strong female leads that were present the whole series but we didn't get any acknowledgement. Carolina deserved a goodbye just as much as church did(she also deserved a goodbye from church if you ask me but I digress).
There has GOT to be a point to bringing meta back; where is all the armor enchancements? Meta was more than just super strong, and using Gamma to torture Tucker is just scratching the surface. The reds and blues have exp dealing with each enhancement and it could have created fun moments with callbacks and character development.
Tucker grew to be the strongest of the sim troopers but he was NEVER on the level of the freelancers. Missed opportunity to have Carolina and Tex(AND Wash) be more skilled fighters but struggle vs the AI fragments' decision-making + armor enhancements and ultimately need the exp of the reds and blues to lead them to victory. Plus it'd highlight the point of why the meta fails to be human; it is always missing a part of itself and thinks that completing itself will lead it to perfection. Humans aren't ever perfect. That's why we're human. The og delta learned that.
Not enough appealing to Tucker, he was just a host and thusly completely absent from the final season as a character that, in MANY ways, developed into the MAIN character(as much as there can be one in an ensemble cast) especially through Chorus. He killed sarge, I need to see him RATTLED by that because he would be. Through the Chorus trilogy they stepped up as the leaders of their respective teams and even became a solid duo in missions. Tucker would be so hurt by the events of this season.
With all of that said I enjoyed the season and I'm grateful for the chance to support RT one last time. I got emotional this season and I will miss RVB dearly. Good video, cheers
Delta was The GOAT when it came to the AI fragments excluding Tex and Church
This was.. amazing. Absolutely amazing, I rarely cry for movies/videos but this brought tears to my eyes and I loved every second of it. I truly feel like this was the send off the show deserved
It was good. Better than I was expecting at the very least. Sure the pacing is bad, the replacement VAs aren't good, and the animation can look pretty stiff and awkward at times, but I enjoyed the writing, especially the comedy. Not every joke is hilarious, but I don't feel like a single one was a miss. They all made me chuckle at the very least. I also like how it's implied that this could be another simulation, so even if you don't like it, it's perfectly valid to believe the "canon" ending of the show is the end of S13. For a finale made on a shoestring budget by a dead company, I think they did alright. Besides, there's no point on getting too hung up on the negatives. What are they gonna do, take people's critiques to heart and make another finale? It is what it is at this point.
Yeah, this feels like a situation where we know it could've been more but we know that was not gonna be possible so we can't be too mad. I'm happy with what we got and yeah, the end of the prologue and some of Chruch's dialogue makes it so you can easily just take it as being another simulation being ran so you just end it at Season 13 or continue to 15-17. It's up to you.

When Tex grabs the memory unit in the air. The pose she and Tucker are in are almost 1 to 1 of the scene from season 8 when Tex was knocked the black stuff off Tuckers armour
It didn’t seem like a true ending but it’s what we got I do hope people make their own endings with SFM, unreal engine depending if it’s allowed and the copy right allows it

I haven’t watched the full video yet.
I watched RvB Restoration and genuinely liked it. It felt rushed and some of the animations were a wonky in comparison with some of RT’s other RvB seasons, but it still hit home with its message, or at least how I interpreted it. I loved how they brought back so many characters, one liners, etc. from the past seasons. It brought back memories and retold jokes in a way that wasn’t repetitive or forced. It made me feel the joy and happiness I felt from watching all of RvB in one movie, but it also brought back the sad ones too. I’ll never be able to enjoy it like I did when I first watched it. As I grew up I followed the series and it became a very important part of my childhood. I’ll never be able to experience it in that way ever again. In the same way all the characters held on to their past and just wanted things to go back to they were, I wanted to go back and enjoy being a child. Letting go of the past is difficult, it’s not something we want to do, but weirdly enough I felt a connection between myself and our RvB teammates. I felt like Restoration was meant to allow long time fans to connect with the reds and blues and let go of the past but not forget it.
I’m terrible at writing so this probably sucks but this was my take on the movie and honestly I loved it. I don’t think I’ll ever rewatch it again lol, but I think that further proves my point.
The fact Doc was all in Wash’s head, and the death of Sarge fucked me up.
I think this season was held back more than almost any other season of rvb, had they had more time, some parts were rushed(thanks WB), but other parts were missing cut because of sudden time restraints, making them have to prioritize some scenes over other, to make a finished story that at least has most context, and I am Shure if they had more time, there would have been more scenes that ether explained or showed missing details. But yeah Lopez and donut missing from the end felt wrong
To your point of not having a lot of Tucker, in the commentary Burnie confirms that this whole story of Tucker becoming the Meta was originally going to be a trilogy (and was hits pitch for season 15) and was obviously *heavily* crunched down to fit into the final season.
I feel like most of the characters got their ending besides Tucker (maybe I'm not seeing it) but sarge dies on the battlefield, which he kinda always wanted it to end that way, Simmons becomes leader of the reds, Grif goes home, and Caboose gets to say goodbye to Church
Shame it had to go down the way it did and I wish things could of have been better for the reasons you mentioned and more. However it is what it is now...with RT shutdown there's no point in my mind to throwing any more complaints out.... who's there to hear it ?
I use to go all of the PAX conventions pretty much solely to see RT. The number of fans who'd turn out for those events was MASSIVE. The last RT panel I can remember took up the biggest hall in the BCEC...Seeing the intro to Restoration for me was so fucking funny and sad. It hit close to home because...well....we are all that's left of the fans..
Despite that RT came in and tried to give us a meaningful send off to RvB for those who remained all these years despite the major handicaps and 0 financial incentive. All i can say is thank you

Nobody has commented or noticed that Simmons suddenly has a ROBOT HAND at the end fight but it got twisted and he shouts out in pain! And then he PUSHES HIMSELF UP WITH IT but THEN acts like it no longer works and can't use it with the shotgun so he fires it with ONE HAND? WHAT??

I think we also have take into account how behind the scene rooster teeth was going under thanks to the miss handling of it and the shows they were making. The fact they even got this out is even amazing, so I will give them a break it good to end something that started their company. Plus at least it got an ending unlike RWBY that currently still up for grabs by anyone, so at least it got a fitting end.

This movie really felt like Serenity, the film conclusion of Firefly.
I could tell they wanted to tell so much more story but couldn't due to time and resource limitations.
It's not as bad as it could've been, but not as good as it should’ve been.
Honestly if it was a hour longer it could have been so much more and it hit me really hard im planning on binge the whole series again to give it the respect it deserves

Pretty sure this is how I learned Rooster Teeth was shutting down. And that this season came out at all. Honestly it came as a punch to the throat, but... In the end I'm glad I got to have this as the sendoff. For all its flaws.

my ex and i talked bout thisone after the corus trilogy we theorized that at least doc and maybe sarge would of kick the bucket and tucker would be the new meta well at least the team being the new free lancers

I don't really think it's a great finale for rvb but I don't really think that was even necessarily what they were going for, I think the season works better as a finale for rooster teeth itself and I think viewing it like that made me enjoy it a lot more. It definitely makes Griff leaving feel more fitting, and even with what Carolina says wash, I also think that's why the first half feels so rushed, they just really wanted to get to their goodbye.
I'm so glad that you pointed out how everyone was out of character during this. It felt like they were trying to pick up the story from season 6 and not season 13. The Reds should have no reason to be antagonistic toward the blues. Sure they might not want to get wrapped up in more bullshit but they literally decided to go back and help Carolina and Church fight an army of Tex bots. You'd think after everything they'd been through they would at least help Caboose more willingly and especially try to help Tucker. They basically just talked like they were gonna go in an kill him like they didnt spend years getting close to the guy. They only point that seemed natural was Griff Simmons and Caboose sitting around the fire telling stories and enjoying themselves before the Meta showed up. Hell the mischaractization goes even to Dr. Grey who would have absolutely been more sympathetic towards Wash especially if he had only injured his leg and didnt treat him like a crazy person which he did not act at all like in season 11-13. Also having Donut only appear as a random thought in Simmon's head seemed so weird. They kept around Sheila but couldnt include Donut or even Lopez in anything? Hell I feel like they just wrote Carolina out of the story until a deus ex machina at the end because she wouldnt have left Caboose behind and there would be no reason for Sarge to die. It's weird.
I got into RvB around the time season 12 was airing, after season 13 i kinda dropped off because the following seasons just weren't that good, im glad to see the show got a final ending and wont have to die a slow and painful death. That final scene with Wash and the ghosts of the freelancers managed to get me to tears. Felt like saying goodbye to something that was a fairly large part of life for around the last decade
It should have been longer. At least 2 hours 30 minutes to wrap up a 20 year series.

In my opinion, season 15 is the true ending (if you want a definitive ending, of course), otherwise, 13 is the end.
I had issues get I moved and cried for wash closure he’s finally gotten. I just wished all the reds and blues were together at that camp fire to talk.

they made the best out of their circumstances i loved for what it was
It had great potential but it was just too half-assed (not that I blame them, the budget was obviously not much) for me to really sink my teeth into it. Every time I got invested I thought about how half-baked and underdeveloped it all is. It also felt waaay to fanfiction-y, especially near the end there with Carolina and Tex teaming up to take on the Meta. They didn't take the time to properly build any of that up or even have one conversation between the two, so it came off more like a Death Battle episode than the finale. Tex is there, and then just immediately dies lol. It all feels like a genuinely great story, but the storyteller is Caboose. Also, what the hell ever happened to Donut?
He's credited as "Admiral Donut" so it implies he got promoted after Chorus.
Im glad that they in a way kept the wash injury plot from the last few seasons but its a shame they had to rush through it we dont even know how wash got injured or how doc died

The scene between carolina and wash in season 17 is without a doubt one of my favorites and i wish we could have gotten something similar to that

I loved this movie, but unfortunately due to budget and roosterteeth shutting down it seemed rush. Even if it seemed rushed, i thought it was still great.
I cried.
We finally figured out why we were here, to enjoy the show and the memories it gave us and maybe that’s all we need,memory is the key after all…
I totally agree with this review of Restoration. I appreciated all the fan service they gave us but can't help but feel this was heavily rushed.
- Doc dying is a big thing (I didn't even know until this video told me lol) which means that it should have been a bigger reveal with Wash just imagining Doc.
- Wash should have been a much bigger part of this season, he should have been in the minds of the Reds and Blues, especially after Chorus they would make sure that Wash is okay. He didn't even interact with the Reds and Blues at all.
- Knowing that the events of Chorus just happened months prior, why wouldn't a recording of Epsilon ask Caboose to get Wash and Carolina to help them beat the Meta.
- Donut is a key part of this crew and should have been a part of the season.
I know this is just me ranting but it's sad that Burnie had to make these cuts / omissions so that the season would fit the budget they got. It's a sad ending to one of my favourite shows but I'm glad they were able to give us something. With that said, thank you Red vs Blue and Roosterteeth for giving me entertainment for more than 15 years!
They say it's the last season, but i think RvB will come back someday in some form or a other, their just taking a little break.
How RvB comes back is the big question though, either:
(A) Comics & Novels that chronicles adventures the Reds & Blues went on that viewers didn't see in the series.
(B) Spinoffs that expand the RvB universe. Like a series that focuses on soldiers of Chorus.
(C) A reboot of the entire series that uses newer Halo games and animation.
Well they did leave the ending ambiguous, and allow us to pick the endings, there might be many missed opportunities but it's still hit the mark.
Thank you Rooster teeth for making this series, it might not be that famous but it's legendary for us. Here's to hoping for a possible continuation of the series and cast.

I went into RvB in an odd way. I discovered Season 2 first at Gamestop on dvd and got it just cause, then actually watched it in the correct order in time for season 3 and from there I was hooked. Sadly I'm one of those who technically dropped out before Freelancer, satisfied with Church and Tex getting trapped in the storage unit. I kept watching, but that's where it ended for me. And like many of us, it got unbearable to watch.
So I watched Restoration thinking I was biting the bullet just to have closure from the original creators and honestly while it was off in a few spots, it hit *enough* of right notes that made me glad I watched it.
For me, everything except for Zero is canon with just a little bit of retcon thrown into the mix. And with Season 19 not going into heavy detail, just fill in the blanks and boom, it's canon in your book, or at least in my book that is....

I hate to say I’m glad I’m not the only one who was thinking “Sarge” is dying I should feel more emotion but I didnt, the ending with Wash “seeing” the freelancers brought more of a pull on my heart, but the most emotion I felt during this was the fireside flashback.
I am disappointed that we will never know what happened after chorus from season 13, Though I honestly I thought rooster was going show it but it’s still a decent way to end it I suppose.
I would agree I wish the storyline was more complete and the lack of jokes and good old malarkey was telling. I did not like the fact that they killed off Sarge and Doc while also giving little screen time to Lopez or Donut. Also would have liked hearing some of the good old music from some of the earlier series.

The writers completely forgot that Caboose is like, insanely fucking strong?
When we don't know what happened to Lopez after repairing Caboose's helmet and finally saying his first English word bc it takes place after Chorus would have liked to see him in the fight against the Meta and Donut become a Cheerleader?
I also get the feeling that this Caboose might have some connection with the time travel by using their memory of a specific time season Caboose bc he said something related to saving the whole universe back then aka time travel using the memory arc and that Caboose got his closure with Church and why he chose Tex instead of Church or know much about Tex and Church relationship
What did Tucker see during his torture repeatedly being chased and asked to pay child support, never getting any girls, experiencing the same nonsense with the reds and blues, or watching RVB zero on repeat
Also, had mixed feelings about seeing Grif leave I mean it makes sense in some way he has his conversation on why he joined the military and other things talk with his sister during the whole time travel arc and they are trapped in their worst fear this season is leaning in that possibility and he never mature to the person that he is going to be
I also like that Tex finally stays with Church since they have the whole leaving each other alone every time they meet when Alpha is damaged and can't recognize himself and Tex asks him to rest before RVB events, Church keeps going after Tex even as the Epsilon AI even going to the one way memory unit always watching her fail or destroyed, Tex being killed repeatedly created and Church has to leave her by asking her to rest
It wasn’t perfect far from it but that’s actually ok, it was a good way to send a final farewell. It was fun to watch made us cry and it was hard to see it end. Memory is the key, we will always remember it thank you for everything Red vs Blue

For the absolute hair of a budget this thing had, I liked it. Pretty much a solid 7/10, all things considered. Definitely needed a lot more time in the oven (and a lot more screentime), but dang if this wasn't pretty solid for what we got. I wasn't expecting it to be a masterpiece, just good enough to where we got a proper sendoff for most of the core characters. The only major gripes I had with what we got was just not having enough Carolina and Tucker. Tucker for obvious reasons, but I feel like Carolina and Tex should've had at least one moment together where it becomes more of a friendly competition against the Epsilon-Meta, showing how far both of them have come. It feels like we almost got a moment between the two that was hinted at during Tex's character moment when she looked at Wash and Carolina, but was a leftover of a much more drawn-out scene.
My personal headcanon is that (if this isn't "reality"), like the trailer suggested, this is the final simulation Church ran before his death in the final moments of S13. One last memory to make and go through before moving on.

So far I’ve found it on Amazon prime and here on YT. Bit unfortunate it’s not up on their actual website. I get it’s about to shut down, but it would’ve made for a nice send off since it’s essentially what started the company.

I've been watching RvB since back in high school. Probably few years after Blood Gulch Chronicles wrapped up and I've watched every season since except for Zero.
My thoughts on Restoration are mixed, I'm sad Sarge and Doc are gone but there is a lesson in memory. That so long as you remember them, they're never truly gone. This season was dealt a shit hand and you can tell alot had to be condensed into 85 minutes but as a sendoff to RvB, I'm fine with it and Bernie told the best story he could with what he had. I would've preferred if ALL the Reds and Blues has stayed in Blood Gulch but it's fine.
Now we can choose our own Post-Chorus ending. Be it the Shizno Paradox or Restoration. They're all valid and Bernie wanted it that way.
My biggest gripe is the Reds retreating after what they went through with the Blues on Chorus but I suppose old habits die hard.

Sarge should've handed command to Grif change my mind
I don’t think grif would of wanted that. Simon really wanted his approval and was always trying to be in control if sarge couldn’t. Which is why I think it was a good idea why Simon got the role.
@guywhoasked8197 My main reasoning is Grif always had more potential than Simons, when they got moved to Rat's Nest Grif was promoted not Simons. I feel like a great conclusion to Grif's character would've been him overcoming his laziness and taking charge.
Kinda like how Tucker grew into a better soldier
Sarge's death did feel a little rushed, it should have been in battle, the second he had his back to the door im like "that swords coming through isnt it...." I think if Sarge had died in battle and it was in a way that maybe, I dunno, they set off a bomb or something that sent Tucker/Meta flying off into the distance, but sarge was stabbed in the process, then yeah, that would of worked, he could have said his goodbyes to the team and it gets them all fired up and realize they have to stop the meta and this crazy AI story once and for all. I dont mind he passed on but its just how it was handled.
Doc also dying off screen didn't bother me either because this whole time I thought he was with Wash, I thought they played his character EXACTLY as he would be if he was there so you legit couldnt tell it wasnt him, I just wish we could have seen how things went down and maybe watch Wash kinda go through a breakdown, after all this guys been just through so much.
Also Tucker being controlled now and not really having regrets on killing Sarge, even though it wasnt him that essentially pulled the trigger, I think there could have been more mental stuff they could have done with him.
Also, the ending, I think this is the thing I have the most problems with. The Tex and Church part though I felt was handled wonderful and because time can pass differently in the memory unit, I am sure in that world they had nothing but time to be together and get that ending before Caboose destroyed it. But the ending for the soldiers, I feel Carolina and Wash should have gotten a bit more time, or maybe show some of that romance we saw in the seasons that arent actually cannon. I do like all the freelancers coming back though.
And for Grif and Simmons, I am 100% in agreement with you @majesticgaming. I do feel that it should have ended with Griff walking off and then coming back and Simmons going "Wait, what are you doing, I dismissed you!"
And just have Griff and him stand on the edge of the base and go "Where am I going to go? I think I finally figured out why we're here, Simmons" And they both look out into the box canyon and Simmons goes "me too buddy, me too."
That would be a great way to send it off, realizing these guys are family and to be hoenst, would WOULD Griff do, he's been trying to leave the army for years, he in many ways is like Corporal Klinger from MASH who for years was trying to get out of the army to go home, and when he had his chance, he stayed behind. I think that would have been better. ANd to be honest, I think all of this would have been essentially done if Burnie and the team had been given a budget and more time to work, but given that Rooster Teeth was nearing the end of its days, Im honestly happy with this season.
Yes, its not perfect. Many characters are left out, brought back, seem shoehorned, the plot is kinda all over the place, the pacing is crazy, but...at the end of the day, after 21 years of watching this show, I am just glad we got an ending.

The way I see it, Restoration is a nice little send off worth watching once. But Season 13 will always be the best ending for this show.
When I was watching Sarge’s death, I was very suspicious. I was honestly expecting a death fakeout, like nobody fucking dies from a chest stab anymore. Something about it just kept me on edge waiting for the “Just kidding, Sarge is fine!”. Like come on, it’s the Reds, these loveable goofballs could never die right?
Spoilers:
It kinda makes sense why they killed sarge. He was actively preventing the others from leaving due to how stubborn he was. It felt kind weird Simmons stayed, blue team was completely off the grid and retired. Cabooses helmet doesn’t send anything to command, he’s Blue captain, he’s clearly not doing any paperwork, Tucker went awall. Simmons and caboose not going home with griff bothered me
Did it serve its purpose, yes. Could it have been better, also yes. But I'm glad that RvB is finally put to rest. I see this as a weird but serviceable epilogue. Ideally it could've been longer, better paced, maybe Miles Luna could've had *some* input regarding character consistency since iirc he was one of the main writers for Chorus. But yeah, I can always fall back on Season 13 as the de facto ending, but this season assures me that RvB is finally over.

Feel like the whole simulation aspect is promote the idea there is no canon ending to red vs blue they all died or all alive or revival Church or whatever you think red vs blue ended with there are all simulations at end of day
I feel like this just needed maybe an extra 30 to 40 minutes to really fix all the issues with this movie.
