I hate that linear is like a taboo thing now. Seriously tired of all the bland copy paste open world games nowadays. Exploring just to find the same ol stupid collectibles isn't fun anymore lol
I actually used to prefer open world games when i was younger , i used to automatically think open world is more content so it's better but in reality quality still beats quantity and now i prefer linear games generally , yes they don't have as much replayability but that doesn't stop people from playing linear games a 1000 times at the end of the day it's a video game , you play it for fun many times again and again
I think its okay to have an issue with linearity when the first game was so open and its not saying the game needs an open world rather that the levels need to be more open

This is an incredibly late reply, however, I just recently replayed the crysis remastered trilogy. Whilst not the exact same experience and especially since I played the first 2 on PC, I was absolutely shocked to see how good it felt on ps5. All the BS you see about "crysis 1 is bad for x, crysis 2 terrible for Y, crysis 3 is bad for Z" totally goes out the window. It's an absolute breath of fresh air to play all 3 and while they obviously have their downfalls, considering the crap we're served up now I loved every second of these games. Just a scorching reminder that the gaming media is full of it. Fan bases can be so detrimental to a series success, people as a collective can shun something so beautiful without even stopping for a moment to look into the beauty of it.
I have to be honest. I was at a pawn shop and randomly came across this game; and upon closer inspection of the cover ( which looks awesome, btw) I noticed the year 2023 on the monitor on the building and thought to myself " wouldn't that be cool if next year was a Crysis year?" And, without hesitation, I picked it up for a mere 5 Canadian dollars. I made a good decision that day!
Actually Crysis 3 is my favorite because I feel Crytek combined the elements that made booth Crysis 1 and Crysis 2 great only complaint I have is that Crysis 3 is short.
It’s 2022 and I still love playing crysis 2 even to this day. That’s how you know the game did something right, when you still think about or remember it years later
I managed to complete this game on the hardest setting and it was so much fun. Some battles took me hours to get past, but that feeling of getting a little further each time you respawn is so much fun to me. This is in my opinion one of the best FPS games ever made and definitely my favourite of the series.

I played 1-2 back in days and loved them,so yesterday I bought Crysis 3 remastered on PS5 and was very disappointed. Still half way through but already know that Crysis 2 is the best for me. Hopefully Crysis 4 on next Gen will be huge.
My copy from Steam runs butterly smooth. I'm on Windows 11 with the newest update, all C++ attribution installed, latest NVIDIA software update too. I guess my PC is delicate for gaming so I don't install many other softwares then.
I bought the Remastered Trilogy off Amazon and yesterday....so I'm just now gonna get myself hooked on CRYSIS 1, 2 and 3...I guess. LOL...I am new to it all...Hope it won't Disappoint
The first game was quite a tech demo. But crysis 2 has always seemed like the most polished and fleshed- out game in the trilogy to me. Who cares about the more linear missions, the combat is absolutely visceral compared to the first game
i also felt crysis 2 is best as i am playing the sequel right now. totally worth it, just a suggestion play it with most recent version with all patches applied
i remember playing through on easy and thinking this is a cake walk, then i played on harder difficulties, it’s different, i feel like i have to take my time, strategize how i wanted to take down 4 dudes with a sniper, or maybe ill use camo and just try to get past em. fun times replaying it, sadly i dont have a console to play such game atm. 3:54 FACTS, one thing i loved about the gun costimization.
I loved Crysis Wars (crysis 1 online) Loved 2 and 3 as well.. I didn't like that they didn't expand what could have been an amazing MP game though. It needed big maps, vehicles, more players, like the first one. Once you got good at the parkour and how to use the suit it was amazing how fast you could move around the map strategically on MP while also having to guess what other players were doing as well.. Hopefully Crysis 4 can bring a battlefield level MP (not 2042 lolz) but with the nano suits, awesome weapons, and new things like maybe being able to link nano suit capabilities with other players within 20m or something along those lines... fingers crossed because you know they will push the boundaries visually again... That and it needs to at least have headset support (could care less about vr controllers).
I totally agree with you, because having played through these games again recently, Crysis 2 is my favourate game of the trilogy also, and Crysis 1 is actually my least favourate of the trilogy, though i did enjoy them all. To me, i just thought number to was the most enjoyable, and actually has a cover system, which none of the other games has. I would also say that Crysis 1 isn't an open world game. Yes, it has some fairly open areas in it, but it is ultimately a linier game that funnels you through a very definate route through the game and you can't go back to areas once you pass through them.
I love the comparatively basic weapon inventory system and ability to quickly customize on the fly. Games today have too many insane inventory systems. I don't want to think too hard when I game.
Crysis 2 was so badass. My favorite of the trilogy with the first one not far off. Crysis 3 is the weak link imho. It has one level that looks downright incredible. The rest of the game looks solid... but it was just way too short. Even though Crysis 2 has bad voice acting.. there was something about the way that the story unfolds that keeps you engaged. That and the fact that Hans Zimmer's score is just so incredible... it just keeps you engaged and wanting to push forward. Crysis 3 didn't have that vibe. I remember feeling like I loved the premise of Crysis 3 with the urban jungle thing but we just didn't get enough of it. I hate games that are as short as Crysis 3 because the pacing is just way too fast. You just start enjoying yourself and then the game hurries you off to the next section. It's like the level "Welcome to the Jungle" that whole part of the game should've been extended into about 3-4 levels and the game would've been so much better. Crysis 2 was a short game but it was definitely longer than Crysis 3. Actually Crysis 2 is probably the perfect length for that type of game... and the level design is just so good in Crysis 2. The only thing Crysis 3 has over Crysis 2 was graphics.
I remember how hype I was when this game was coming at. I played the hell out of the Batman games, but I honestly think FPS slowed down after Crysis 2. The fact it still holds up eleven years later is testament it hasn’t been replaced. Idk, it just felt like we were getting industry shifting games a couple times a year. Now I feel like we only get a truly great game every couple years, if we’re lucky. Idk, maybe the widespread inclusion of DLC contributed to this feeling. Maybe I just played less good games after this and the Batman games.
I loved this game soooo much on the 360. I was amazed how good it looked still on that aging system. Soon I want to play it again in all peace. Just for the atmosphere.
I played through when I was like 10 over and over again. Just finished the first one from the remastered trilogy. Super excited to play through 2 again. It’s one of my favorite title/series so far. Crysis 1 felt like a Vietnam simulator at some points.
I'd love a game with Halo's gunplay and enemy variety but also with Crysis' on-the-fly flexibility. The nanosuit is an amazing gameplay tool with armour/power/cloak and the tactical mode.
This could help someone, if you are facing screen tear, disable directX11, cap your fps to monitor fps and disable Vsync within Crysis.. that should do it
Gunplay likely feels slugish because animations wont cut until they are complete preventing you from doing another action until current one is complete.
I don't know if people let alone gamers have the brain capacity to think deeply on much of anything, [not that it really takes that much clarity to even see] BUT I've noticed with the majority of games over the last 20 years it's almost always the same theme, martial law, post industrial society in ruins, economy crashing, internment camps etc. and futuristic elements always thrown in and why is every character have the same suit?!! look at Crysis and Timeshift, and Project Snowblind, and HALO etc. they all have so cloaks or armored suits etc. they all look the same, so my point is these video games that are churned out at a fast rate that cost millions to product aren't strictly there for our entertainment, we seem to think everything that's supplied to us is for our joy alone, no, there's a deeper more political reason for them with the settings and plots they involve, I've heard it a long time ago by very smart people that the pentagon actually is behind a lot of these games, and that these themes that are present in these games are essentially prepping the gamers and peoples minds for what's to come in real life, predictive programming is the word you may hear from time to time, and it's so apparent in these games, these games that i love by the way, I'm not hating on them I'm just saying nobody ever really goes into that very important fact, and i don't know if ppl have noticed we are living through the crumbling of a empire as I type this, all these themes in these games is preparing your mind for when these things start happening in real life, so when the S*** does hit the fan most people at least on a conscious/subconscious level have been familiarized with them, so you're more easily guided and malleable and obedient to those agendas and laws that will be coming in the near future..
@@SeekerGoldstone everything is planned, most things in life don't happen by accident , masks, vaccines etc was planned a long time ago, read Bertrand Russel, Huxley books etc, we are sheep, the herd, and we are guided by the top
Crysis 2 is such a tightly tuned experience. It seamlessly shifts from wide open combat spaces, to linear corridor sections, while sprinkling in a very generous serving of scripted cinematic set piece moments and large scale battles. They’re constantly giving the player new guns and attachments to play with, new threats to face, new perks and skills to unlock, and are always 1-upping themselves with new vibrant environments that are somehow more visually stunning than the last. All of these elements are dished out to the player at such a considered and consistent rate, subsequently leading to an absolutely beautifully paced experience. One of the best FPS campaigns ever made, without question. If Crysis 3 was a few hours longer, it would have this game beat, but ultimately Crysis 2 is superior.
Even you misunderstood the story. Crysis 2 has the best story in the franchise: the shifting of responsible from prophet to alcatraz, Ceph's unorthodox way to conquer earth: by releasing body-melting virus, the conflict between CELL-Marine-and Jacob Hargreave, and the best one and mostly get overlooked: being a literally dead man walking with no option but keep moving foward. Yes, the voice actor and plot is silly and kinda predictable, but the presentation of the story is top notch
Got a copy in Germany for 5 Euros... however, I had the misfortune of buying what must have been the only copy without an English dub and could only choose between German or Turkish dubs :/
I didn't really like Crisis 1 remastered tbh and I got to halfway into the game and it kept crashing and got frustrated but 2+3 look incredible, you feel I can just jump into the 2nd game??
Both Crysis 2 and 3 are insanely underrated. They really did a good job showing how much SHTF when the aliens invaded. You seriously feel like a super soldier at the end of the world. The stakes have never been higher.
The story of Crysis 2 is very short. I have played it many times. The scene destruction is very good. The plot is indeed very thin. But I have to say that in terms of scene pre-production, Crysis is still an excellent work among first-person shooters. I just rewatched Crysis 1. Maybe because of technical reasons, the story of Crysis 1 is very short. It is still excellent in terms of customizing weapons. But because of the era, I understand why Crysis 1 did this. As far as the three series are concerned, my favorite is still Crysis 2. 3 is a bit too dependent on bows and arrows.
I thought Crysis 1 was just okay, and Crysis 2 turned me away from the franchise. I abandoned the campaign halfway. Couldn't stand the bullet sponges enemy.
I just finished the remastered version. I definitely agree with almost everything you just said. I'm happy having experienced such a game that was way ahead of it's time.
Yea I love the first Crysis on PC as it very sh*t on consoles but Crysis 2 some how is really Good on Consoles, it one of my favorite game when it came out, use to rented it when there was such a thing 🙃 ohh them good old days.
One more thing fov max it out thank me later Id say its plot is pretty good Also the remasters are hitting steam soon i recommend it since it goes to the devs
Although crysis 2 is a really great game, crysis 3 takes all of the issues crysis 2 has and fixes them, well maybe it's not as dramatic and michael bay like but it's still better in everything else. Except the length that's also very short.
Linear games are the way to go but only if you are confident in your story, open world games are just time wasters with way too many useless collectables and towers...its tired
Tbh I scarcely notice the difference, the game is just great. The remaster was really just an excuse to make the series relevant again and put some money in their pocket for 4 lol.
@@Kjf365 While the true reason is correct, both Crysis 1 and 2 are great Remasters. Crysis 3 also for fixed for modern GPUs to be playable again. The extra tweaks are niceties on top.
actually, this game just overhated becase some of thoose loud mouth people on the internet just wanted to make sure you think this game are bad even this game actually decent. yeah sure crysis 1 are more open, but the map are bit empty and the gameplay is bit lacking due to how clunky it is.

I didn't really like Crisis 1 remastered tbh and I got to halfway into the game and it kept crashing and got frustrated but 2+3 look incredible, you feel I can just jump into the 2nd game??
@@therealaran Late reply but yes, Crysis 2 is designed in a way that you really don't need to know anything at all about the first anyway.
Both Crysis 2 and 3 are insanely underrated. They really did a good job showing how much SHTF when the aliens invaded. You seriously feel like a super soldier at the end of the world. The stakes have never been higher.
the multiplayer was by far the most I've ever enjoyed an FPS.
I love the hole serie of crysis but the one traps me is crysis 3 I don't know what's pulling me into crysis 3 but that's the one for me
I thought Crysis 1 was just okay, and Crysis 2 turned me away from the franchise. I abandoned the campaign halfway. Couldn't stand the bullet sponges enemy.
Oh damn, I found the bullet sponge a little annoying but it wasn’t enough to turn me away
That sucks dude :/
i think people were right about the term can it run Crysis, but to that noticed buggy implementation too
I just finished the remastered version. I definitely agree with almost everything you just said. I'm happy having experienced such a game that was way ahead of it's time.
Still playing the og and i wanna say its hella fun
It is so unfortunate that the mutiplayer is not playable anymore except for community mods like crysis reborn.
Crysis 1 is the best to replay, 2 was my first tho so it has a special place
3’s setting is probably my favorite tho
This game seems pretty good but I also really really like titan fall
So can it run crysis? Because i want to :D
I've never gotten the whole linear versus non-linear debate. Crysis was great. Crysis 2 was great. Both are great! (Three was ... ok.)
the graphics at 4k are still wow tbh
Loved crysis 1 and 2. Never played the 3rd one as it looked boring to me.
You could customize weapons back in crysis 1 in 2007.
Love all the Crysis games, some of the best fps games ever.
Short?? It took me 33 hours to complete!
33????? The fuck 💀
Fair enough Alex, definitely got your moneys worth :D
@@JacksGameReviews Sure did, I got it for £4.99 on Steam!
skill issue
Crysis 1 also has the weapon mods.
Yea I love the first Crysis on PC as it very sh*t on consoles but Crysis 2 some how is really Good on Consoles, it one of my favorite game when it came out, use to rented it when there was such a thing 🙃 ohh them good old days.
One more thing fov max it out thank me later
Id say its plot is pretty good
Also the remasters are hitting steam soon i recommend it since it goes to the devs
@Passage what
One of my favorite games
Although crysis 2 is a really great game, crysis 3 takes all of the issues crysis 2 has and fixes them, well maybe it's not as dramatic and michael bay like but it's still better in everything else. Except the length that's also very short.
Such an underrated game
I don’t think ai is better than halo ever and I love this game.
I always play these games like crysis 2 and 1 and 3
Not even gonna talk about the remaster?
Linear games are the way to go but only if you are confident in your story, open world games are just time wasters with way too many useless collectables and towers...its tired

@@DONG-502How?? That's a fair opinion, open world games are usually just slogs full of worthless content because the story itself sucks 💀💀
Crysis 2 was my favourite too!
Not ready to be played
Needs a lot of improvements
The game is fine, but I don’t think it’s anything special. Now I’m not that far into it, but yeah it’s pretty average as a game.
Funny part 2 is my favorite as well
Uhm, Aherm. .. The uh, Crysis 3 TDM Lobby Need's 4 More Players to begin!!. ... .. >:D Join!!!
On Xbox 360. .. ELITE!!
Now that
Sounds
To goood
To be
True
I’m there in a few weeks :D
2&3 is better than 1 imho. 1 is a tech demo not a game
Doing a review of Crysis 2 in late 2022 and yet ... it's not the Remastered version? Come on.
BF2042 ripped Crysis in more ways than one. I mean just look at that cover art. Wonder where Id seen that before.
This game is true Masterpiece
actually, this game just overhated becase some of thoose loud mouth people on the internet just wanted to make sure you think this game are bad even this game actually decent. yeah sure crysis 1 are more open, but the map are bit empty and the gameplay is bit lacking due to how clunky it is.

It was ok, not incredible. A 6/10 for me
It wasn't worth playing when it released, sadly
hell jeah of course,
Crysis 2 is awesome 😎👍
hi
Ola
Ooooooo ❤️❤️
Crysis 2 makes me feel like that
I’ve been playing through the remastered trilogy this week.
I’ve been so hooked playing through these games back to back.
Just as good now as they were back in the day, perfection 🤌🏻
