I always looked forward to Grant, and the idea that he was some nutter calling himself the "Pirate of the Roads" just made me want him more! For a show that runs on looking awesome, the finale was underwhelming.
Grant was important as he was the one who healed minds and hearts if the people of wallachia even aeon in judgement flat states this and his tale will be told for eternity
Looking back, it's probably for the best they left him out, given that egotistical writer's blatant disdain for the character. He would've been butchered like Trevor, Alucard and all the others.
This writer doesn’t know shit about Grant DaNasty because he’s definitely the real reason why he should always be in Castlevania. Here are those reason why Asshole Ellis didn’t know what differences there are on Grant to the other three protagonists (Trevor, Sypha, Alucard). 1. Grant DaNasty can climb walls which everybody knows, but he can also control his jump too unlike the other three main characters in Castlevania III. 2. He can throw his knives as a projectile attack in the Japanese version, but of course he jabs with his knife in the North American version, still a good character. 3. He would been included in the show after Trevor Belmont encounters Sypha and before taking on Alucard, even though the jackass writer never wanted to include him. So it’s a real shame that the show is never likely Castlevania.
Due to his last name name, Grant's backstory as the lost prince of Wallachia would've worked well as it also ties into Trevor looking to restore his family name to its former glory. But like you said, the writer was a contemptuous piece of work.
What I find boggling is that Grant is one of the easiest characters to implement in the show. He has a very strong goal, motivation, and reason to be there - the guy is damn brave for trying to counter Dracula with the rebels (a nod to the Dinesti family who were rivals to Draculesti). Everyone but him is wiped out, and his level and theme, the Clock Tower, is very iconic in Castlevania. Plus, also as you said, the whole love triangle can work between Trevor, Sypha, and Grant which was definitely one of the better stories in Judgement. As for personality, his Judgement incarnation was brimming with it - just have him act like that: snarky, flippant, and jovial, but also very serious when push comes to shove. And there are a lot of chances to be highly creative with the wall-climbing and agile knife nut capabilities. They could have free reign with his design, too. I saw someone combine both his original and Judgement design, and there's a good number of fan designs that match Ayami Kojima's style. We could've easily had Grant and the whole original cast *finally* together but no. Instead, he gets the shaft *again* because of utter dumb crap from what I see as a non-fan.

But then he said she WASN'T the female version of grant despite the similarites. If I could sum up Warren ellis in one word, I'd say he's a MESS.
@@Bullboy_Adventures I already heard about the allegations against Warren Ellis that he was being creepy toward young women but I honestly like to pretend Greta was her own character I hate to think she was Grant but I did like that other anime Warren Ellis created called freak Angels it's really cool my favorite character is the beautiful light-skinned woman with the big cornbread biscuits
@@mushra50 no doubt Warren ellis has talent, just a shame he had to be a creeper, and try to justify not including grant for bs reasons. He couldn't just man up and say he simply didn't like grant.
Well done
I see this man wants a sausage fest..
Honestly the trio worked better as a group so im fine with them excluding him
Who gives a fuck? The show is over. Grant would have offered nothing to the story they're telling here.
The point is why leave him out in the game he helped just as much as Alucard and sypha did to bring down Dracula what bullshit reason to leave out a main character just because you don't like him that stupid. You respect the source materials not just the one you cherry pick to use.
The show is still good
