Added context here. You’ll also want to shutoff FaceTime. If you have iMessage linked on another device, like a Mac, you’ll want to disconnect from there as well.
Thanks Google for creating a phone that is specifically designed to appeal to iPhone users to switch over to. And now with RCS Messaging makes it basically just a color bubble change now.
You got a new sub bro. Love your content so far, and this has convinced me to get a pixel again. Told my self when I got pixel 6 I’d never get one again. But hearing all the refinements made to the 9 pro xl has made me excited again. Currently rocking apple eco system with a 13 pro max, MacBook Air 2022, and iPad Pro m2 2022. Yeah imma miss the eco system. But not worried as I have an insanely speced out windows laptop :)
Thank you! I'm still rocking the pixel buds pro 1st gen but would love to try the new ones out. I've held them in the hand but couldn't try them at the Google events so it's on my list of things to try
Apple and locking people in their eco system.. Now I see why it's hard for people to switch if they want to.. Why straight up cut out an SMS cause they stopped using your device... That's really strange and bad..
Going from an iPhone to Android phone just by the sim is a pain. You have to turn off all the Apple products the iPhone is linked to (iMessage, FaceTime, etc.). If it’s still linked to your MacBook you will be only to send texts not receive. I sold all my Android phones because I hated the hassle Of switching from my iPhone to an Android on the weekends. I’m too deep into the Apple ecosystem, the pain to go back/forth made me make a decision to stay with my 15 Pro Max.
The problem about Google pixels is pictures sometimes weirdly turn darker than next. It is good at handling highlights but it's not good at lifting shadows when the lights fall; early mornings and early nights, or cloudy days. I like Samsung even though they don't handle highlights well but they usually will balance the highlights and the shadows a bit better.
You must have forgotten to turn on the stabilization, or you have a defective unit. My video is rock steady. Other reviewers have also commented on how great the stabilization is.
It is It's funny that people talk about the processing because if you didn't know it's "Raw Numbers" You would think it was functioning on power and it always has been It's optimized for it Also, it's the only phone that's actually smart
@@brucelin5842you can't judge a phone on if it's a gaming phone when it's not and buy a PC or some systems who games on phone ? The phone does everything my s24 ultra does andy 15pro and the camera is better . No lie 24 ultra is better but the pixel is just streamlined .
I got this phone early, and initially, the Geekbench score worried me since it was close to the iPhone 12 Pro. However, after a few weeks, this phone is surprisingly fast! Apps are snappy, games run smoothly, and I've noticed no lag. Google's done a great job with the software optimization. The less power-hungry chip also means great battery life - Google's found a good balance. That said, at the same price as other flagships, people expect top-tier power, so the chip might be a turnoff for some. But for me, right now, this is my favorite Android phone. It's incredibly smooth, and the build is gorgeous, though fragile - my screen's already cracked slightly without even dropping it!
It's a problem with larger professional cameras the focusing is hit and miss be because when the aperture is lower there's more adjustment required to keep focus
Thank you for this review. It accurately reflects how a phone is used in real life, giving us a much better idea of battery life compared to online battery life tests. Almost 6 hours of screen-on time is impressive, especially with data usage for most of that time. This is similar to or even slightly more than the screen-on time I experienced with the iPhone 15 Pro, not the Pro Max. While it’s still not at the level of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, there are significant improvements from the Pixel 6 to the Pixel 8 series phones by Google. Now, 6 hours of screen-on time seems believable, unlike some online claims of 8 hours or more, which seem highly exaggerated, especially considering the Tensor chip uses an Exynos modem.
No, that is not remotely true, this is NOT how a phone is accurately used in real life, camera usage was a whopping 1 hour 30 mins meaning screen on time with camera running, which is why you see only 6 hours of SOT. A typical normal day with much less camera usage or barely any will comfortably give it around 9 - 10 hours SOT which is usually what I experience only with mobile data.
Also not quite, Exynos "5400" modem fairs very comaprable with Qualcomn counterpart, this isn't the E5300 that we know of used to burn through data usage with horrendous efficiency. 5400 actually gave substantial improvement in efficiency and connectivity.
@@MattRobb I like the pixel design (especially this last model) and pure android, although many AI functions are unavailable here in the EU (Slovakia).. I went for the Hazel color 🩶
So, with switching from an iPhone to pixel, first if you turn off iMessage before you switch it will fix the message issue with getting them on pixel.
Yup and turn on RCS so it's all normal since Apple was forced to do it

Yup or use the deregister iMessage link

Idk if it's a glitch but when I turned on RCS the bubbles actually went through as blue to my friends iPhone although he was running a beta 🤷🏻♂️
Wow that would be nice hopefully it wasn't a glitch 🤞🏻@@MattRobb
You have to disable iMessage on your apple account.
#Pixel9proXL is 👇🏻 whooping butt and taking names this time around! Nice 👍🏻 video too
Nice vid bro. That camera is legit.
I absolutely love my s24 ultra and galaxy watch ultra but man that pixel pro xl looks great
It's not worth the switch but the pixel is more comparable with the s24 ultra and the iPhone 15 pro max now finally
I'm gonna stick with my Pixel 4a until next year. I plan to get the 10 Pro XL and I can't wait!!
Love my 4a…. Perfect size too
the pixel 9 pro is so good!
Informative, Useful, Interesting, Professional, Creative. Great Vid Matt ❤️
Izzy thank you bro 🔥🔥
Appreciate your long term support 🙏🏻

The iMessage problem is with Apple, not Google. They screwed that up by design. It shows you how much they care about their users...
I mentioned it's a problem of leaving the ecosystem so hence apple obviously nothing to do with google

Great vid man .
Thanks for the support! Haters gonna hate, but I put a lot of effort into this video. I'll learn from this and make the next one even better! 💪

LOL, phone says 8am, the sun coming through the window at 0:43 says otherwise ;)
Dude it's literally still summer sun rise is like 5am so this was 3 hours after sunrise
Canada has long days, we have sunrise/dYLIGHT at 4:30 AM and sunset at 9:30 PM in summers

Why MSI was sending invitations on iMessage. Do they also have iMessage support on Windows?
The team I'm working with in Toronto use iPhone's and so messaged me via iMessage

Do a review after 1 month with it and mention if it overheats easily doing basic stuff compared to the s24 ultra and 15 pro max

Why does the pixel makes skin color more red?
Probably something to do with a new sensor and their old color processing algorithm. Hopefully it gets better with software updates
