I found Pastor Chris one night while driving home from work one night. That was in 2015.. Still listening. His Genesis teaching from 2013 is spot on. I wonder if he's going to use any material from that for this recap.
Genesis 1 and Matthew 1 have the same style. The first verses are an over-view and then there are six days of creation and a day of rest while Matthew uses three periods of fourteen which sum to six times seven. There was no gap in Matthew 1 so there is no gap in Genesis 1 either. Those who add a gap are adding to God's Word.
Big bang- God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness He called “night.” 1) If you look at a image of the "big bang science theory" wiki pic the first thing is light followed by a separation of light and dark which is than followed by space as the Bible says- “Let there be an expanse between the waters, to separate the waters from the waters.” So God made the expanse. 2) If something has no room between itself it has no space but like a balloon it has been separated from itself making space for the universe. So to move water from water is a gap aka space. Next- Let the waters under the sky be gathered into one place, so that the dry land may appear.” And it was so. God called the dry land “earth, 3) The coming together of matter to form planets and stars, Continued- God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night. God set these lights in the expanse of the sky to shine upon the earth, to preside over the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness 4) The creation of specific lights for specific functions including stars and the story they tell. So here we have the creation of the universe which recently found evidence supports biblical narrative and was used to form the theory of the big bang. We need to keep in mind this one overall account tells us the creation of 1) The universe as a whole 2) The earth and all in it 3) Mankind, the fall, Reproduction, Marriage, Gender roles of male and female for all things. And More... It also tells what will happen in the week of creation (God created for a week, Creation has a week) Example: The fourth day God created the sun to separate Light from Dark in the creation week. The fourth day Jesus, The Son is born he is the light of the world separating good from evil in the week of Creation. : In Gods week man was made on the sixth day. In creations week man will rule six days. : In Gods week on the seventh day he rested. In creations week on the seventh day man will rest. This is why we are given the ratio 1 to 1,000 (like on a map 1 measurement is equal to 1 distance) One day is like a thousand years and a thousand years are like a day. Same as saying 1=1000 or 1000=1 scale and ratio. Scale: An ordered system of numbering or indexing that is used as a reference standard in measurement, in which each number corresponds to some physical quantity. Ratio: The quantitative relation between two amounts showing the number of times one value contains or is contained within the other. Scale: A day is a thousand years. Ratio: 1000 to 1 You Add Gods 7 days and mans 6 days and you get 13,000 Man says the universe is 13.8 billion years old the same rough numbers just different zeros. Age is based on the speed of light and spread so if in the beginning the universe had more energy and things were faster like we see with energy today something starts at a maximum potential than as it changes form it slows as it has less source energy to convert like a squirt gun more water more pressure more velocity. So if the universe started with more energy and light was 1,000,000 faster a 13,000 year old universe could appear to look like a 13 billion year old universe it matches observed evidence of energy and harmonises Biblical and scientific understanding which sounds like Genesis and the big bang theory to me, God said it evidence supports it, all we have to do is understand it.
Why is Jonah 3 days and not 3,000 because it is not with the Lord or in his sight when the Lord says in that day it could be 1 day or 1000 years there is a rule to it as it says in scripture. 2 Peter 3:8 (With the Lord) a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. Psalm 90:4 For in (Your sight) a thousand years are but a day that passes, or a watch of the night. Very basic rules so if it is not said BY or WITH God than a day Yom is normally a day a 12 or 24 hour period but with God a day Yom can be an Age or Era "The day of the Lord" is the millennium reign and the day Jesus arrives, Adam died in the day meaning Age he ate of the fruit not a 24hr day. All of which is very smart in Genesis God establishes a day 12 hour daylight period a day a 24 hour day and night period and a day meaning Age or Era like in that day similar thing is done with Eve and as explained above with creation Genesis covers universe and earth creation at the same time very smart and i take it as a proof God did it because it has knowledge beyond the knowledge of man until recently when we have started to catch up to the Bible and understand it more fully or as said in Daniel "Knowledge shall increase".
He rose again the third day WOW! Jesus came in the fourth day or 4,000 year he comes again at the end of the six day the start of the seventh day the 7,000 year that is 3,000 or 3 days that is cool Jesus rose 3 (24hr)days after his death and will return 3 (Era)days after departing this world. God is Great Amen!
