    I made this tonight and wowsers! It came out perfectly, Had to double the recipe due to number of us dining...your instructions were easy to follow and the result is that we have a keeper! You're right about restaurant quality and I kept thinking about how much it would have cost to have ordered this out. Really enjoyed it. Thank you.

    I just got done making this & boy oh boy it was delicious!! I only had half and half instead of heavy whipping cream but still worked out. Also I didn’t have any sausage so I only used shrimp & chicken. On top didn’t have any cajun seasoning so made my own. Your recipe is beyond great! Thank you!

    Can I use crushed tomatoes instead? Will it change the flavor

    • @SimplyElegantHomeCooking
      @SimplyElegantHomeCooking  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could definitely use them if that is what you have on hand. I think that the San Marzano tomatoes are the highest quality but they are, essentially, a version of crushed tomatoes.

      You really want a tubular noodle that holds the sauce. Flat pasta, like fettucini, are used for thicker, heavier sauces that sit on top. If you don't want tubes (why?) You could substitute something like rotini.

    • @SimplyElegantHomeCooking

      Hmm you might be able to substitute but the tomato paste is more concentrated so you might need to adjust the ratio.

    • @wordsculpt
      @wordsculpt 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Don't, repeat, DON'T substitute tomato paste! It is fundamentally different ! It is far too thick, lacks the acidity and freshness of tomatoes, and has added sweetness. Take the trouble to buy whole tomatoes in juice, and the few seconds it takes to chop or crush them. You will be Very glad that you did.

      @@SimplyElegantHomeCookingI really dig your videos as is. Many of us like the sound of the actual cooking in real time. Many of us also prefer no music, (can be somewhat distracting and sometimes get in the way). I’m no expert, but not sure how, (or how many), views would be gained simply by adding music when some like it and some don’t. Do you own thing. Lead, don’t follow. Maybe don’t get too caught up in chasing likes or views and just keep making quality recipes with your calm and engaging personality. If you don’t want to hear constructive criticism, then you probably don’t care about improving what you do. I’m assuming this guy does care hence my criticisms. He can take it or leave it, that’s his business.
      I guarantee you he won’t mispronounce ‘andouille’ or ‘penne’ again now that he knows as I’m sure-unlike you-he doesn’t get butt hurt over hearing honest criticisms and truly wants to improve his videos.

      Focus on the road, there is nothing, but the road. Yes correcting a TH-cam content creator about the correct pronunciation of words IS constructive criticism...unless you’re implying he’d rather remain ignorant?! I refuse to believe that.
      And wet chewing sounds into the microphone IS rude: Manners 101

    • @alexblaze8878
      @alexblaze8878 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ya see the next time he does a video wherein he has to pronounce ANDOUILLE or Penne, he will get it right [id bet you a $1000 he gets it right trust me] and that helps him in creating better content. I prefer he be better able to pronounce words correctly even if my delivery method is a bit harsh. You’d rather he continue to mispronounce words out of a misguided effort to be “nice”. You’re being nice does nothing to help him whereas my original comment DOES enlighten him.
