Whatever that Red one was, very nice design. Looks very stable and with a strong flipper and that ingenious secondary flipper for self-righting, that would definitely be a bad bot to come up against.
You can do as many as you want....That been said remember you build to a weight limit and the more complex or multiple systems will add weight VERY quickly!!!
Hey Matt, my name is Spencer and I'm 11, you guys are like my favorite team. You always do so great against tough teams and have a great robot and strategy. You guys inspired me and my best friend to create our own robot fighting league called ScrapWard. (Don't worry, we don't break each others robots. We try to knock the opponents robot on there back.) I use my Deluxe Snap Rover. I call him Snappy. The way that people beat me is to knock loose one of my Snap Wires. We have a lot of fun! Please

at first i didn't see what good a flame thrower would be unless you had a few seconds to turn on the heat and toast it for a few seconds, but seeing sewer snake trap the robot against the wall and fry him was cool.
@kasunt Thanks for the comments SS is a fun active bot to drive. but against a GREAT driver like Forrest (Raging Scottsman) I was lucky to be on my "A" game or he would have OWNED me!!!
Well, I don't see too many people using copper when they can use steel. Honestly, fire is the most effective once you get through the robot's armor and expose the circuits inside, but I know that it's also effective through the metal and all that. I'm not saying it's harmless, I'm saying it's not damaging enough. A good saw blade is much more effective than a flame thrower at dealing damage.
+Lord Tony Yes, Son of ZIGGY (pneumatic flipper lost its valve to the flipper when the pilot hose melted! Disabling their flipper, and another team tapped out when their bot was pinned against the wall and they thought it was burning up!
+Lord Tony The rules about flame throwers usually prevent you using a true blue flame type of flame thrower, only a useless orange flame one, which is all show and no go...
+liam moore Not true! the rule exclude oxidizers, not tuning your flame as Complete Control had a blue flame that shot out about 18" as did Chomp in BattleBots. But we go for the big billowing yellow flame as much for looks as damage. but there are some tuned flame weapons out there just have to look for them and most of the tuned flame s are to short on not very effective bots!!!
Hey, I loved your battle with Raging Scottsman! That was a great scrap: two bots with flamers. After they lost a wheel you guys owned them! Also, the final battle with Last Rites was spectacular. How did you feel going up against LR's blades? I thought for sure those would take off a wheel or two.
Personally, I don't think that flame throwers are very effective here. It looks awesome, but ramming the other bot into the wall seems to do more impressive damage, so to me it's a waste of material. It might be more effective if they could get a straight shot at the other bots circuitry
If you could make a bot this good, they were fast, reliable strong nice weapons etc, why wouldnt you just build a razor type bot? Both would have been crushed instantly.
Shows how important it is to be able to get under the other guy's wedge, if possible. Excellent driving by both teams, but especially Sewer Snake.
someone was on fire with the puns that day, dropping them like they were hot.
What great entertainment!
WHY isn't this show on TV...boggles the mind!
out of all the fights this is the best one.
talk about brutal force of ss. love the design matt. been a big fan of ss all the way from nz.
A flamethrower? Certainly one of the more interesting add-ons I've seen =D

you still do ?

The next time you hear someone say pushy-bots are boring, bitch slap them and show them this video.

That was fucking awesome!
Sewer snakes won he's a beast I saw him won finals on tv like a couple years ago
@kasunt

are flamethrowers even effective in this?
*****
Has that ever immobilized a robot before?

+liam moore facebook.com/Team-Widowmaker-combat-robotics-416515645220635/videos I have this one in my robot that will be at robogames.
what are the chances of an explosion with 2 robots flaming each other like this?
Aosome!
Great job dude. I'm curious. Is that gasoline what you are using on your flamethrower or is it just gas?
Are projectiles(tethered) always allowed or only under special conditions?
How to into a flamethrower in robot?
Hey Matt, I made a few mistakes in my comment. Our league is called ScrapYard, not ScrapWard. And the please is for please write back.
Sewer Snake is one of my favourite constructions. But the best construction is shit if the operator is amateur.

i just read your video description what did i do to deserve this PUNishment
who won?
sewer snakes rule
Is that R2 D2?
whos spitting out fire
red
Both of these bots have flame weapons
How much weapons are you allowed to have on your robot? I want to make my own combat robot, but is it allowed to have multiple weapons?
You can, but you need more motors, which takes away from the weight and forces you to sacrifice armor

Different.
the red one won because he did the most damage to the other one
OMG Sewer snake
Ummmm welllll I'm not sure????????????
FODA Pra caraleo
Razer couldn't work in this arena type.
If you could make a bot this good, they were fast, reliable strong nice weapons etc, why wouldnt you just build a razor type bot? Both would have been crushed instantly.
