You need to re-review X2 very badly. I'd also recommend New Texas Giant, Shockwave at SFOT, Goliath at SFGAm, Expedition Everest, Verbolten, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Magnum XL-200, I305, Riddlers Revenge, Apocalypse (SFMM) and Kumba. I'm curious to see how your opinions have changed on those thrill coasters and I'm really curious to see how your opinions have changed on those themed coasters since you've traveled to Europe and also ridden coasters like Hagrids.
Dive coasters are absolutely genius from a marketing standpoint. They look so cool as you drive up to the park and people that would never ride it, love to watch people on it go down that 90 degree hill. A coaster that attracts people to the park that love to ride and don’t like to ride, is a win...win for the park.
Griffon will always hold a special place in my heart. I was terrified of roller coasters when I was little and one time I went to Busch Gardens with some friends and I vowed to go on everything to get over my fear. For some reason, they pulled me on Griffon first. I cried all the way up the lift hill. Cried. I was surprised when I loved it. Before that I had only ever been on lochness and I hated it with a passion, though I respect it now. Griffon literally turned me into a coaster enthusiast. I’ve only ridden the 3 dive coasters currently operating in the states, and while I am a bit biased, griffon remains my favorite.
Haven't been on Griffin but I imagine it's similar to Shiekra. The airtime is definitely better with those old restraints. Its a one trick pony but the hold over drop in the back row gets me every time!
You should definitely do more of re reviews. Opinions change. I think the one you should re review the most is X2. That ride needs a re review because your Opinion of the ride has clearly changed so much. Love the content! Keep up the amazing work like always!
I’m not one to usually comment, but I have to now. The quality of your videos is so good, and you usually post daily so it’s insane. Your dedication to TH-cam is impressive!
When I was a kid and this ride was brand new, my mom worked night shift. So one day when she was exhausted but I wanted to go to BGW, I rode this over and over for several hours while she napped at the exit. Best day honestly. My mom rocks and so does this coaster 😅
Griffon is memorable as the first coaster I chickened out of before I became a coaster enthusiast. Here it's been 6 years since and I still haven't gotten a chance to ride it, and it still looks intimidating.
Love the idea of some new reviews for the legacy rides you reviewed years ago! Griffon was my first Dive Machine back in 2010. I still love it, but its 3rd now for me out of the 4 in North America. I enjoy the vests so Yukon and Valravn are my top 2. We were lucky to have 6 rides on Yukon last year and it's definitely my personal favorite for now.
Absolutely love your reviews/re-reviews Taylor! There is something so soothing, friendly and professional about your voice which is partially why I went through your entire reviews playlist in an afternoon, lol. Keep up the great work. Awesome footage as always!
I always do this "relax on a lifthill" thing on Krake and Flug Der Dämonen at Heide Park. Indeed the sound of the B&M chaindogs are kind of satisfying and relaxing haha. So Taylor you're not the only one xD
I literally suggested this in one of the last videos. Idk if I was the first person but it is cool that you are doing this. Some of my favorite videos are on coasters you have enjoyed for years just cause it’s cool to see how your opinion changes over and over again every time you ride a coaster.
On the subject of Griffon’s lift hill, I highly recommend trying to time a sunset ride to maximize the value of the view, and while I do agree that it can be relaxing for an extra thrill try riding it right before they shut it down due to wasps and they’re buzzing around you the whole time. Adds a nice level of danger to the experience.
I've found the vest restraints on Yukon Striker to be pretty good tbh~ Yes they're a little tight, but I got lots of airtime, especially on the drops and the zero-g winder. In that regard, I like those restraints more than the average enthusiast.
I also like them a lot. All you have to do is not staple yourself. And for any airtime later in the ride, push against the restraints during the positive-G moments. It's annoying to have to fight the restraints to not get stapled, but we have to do that with Lightning Rod also, and nobody hold that against it.
Rode this for the first time when I was 15. After years of riding the biggest coasters I could, this was the first time I looked up at a ride and thought "Oh, I might die." Absolutely loved it.
It's amazing how ride experiences can change over time. I used put Montu ahead of Kumba but after multiple rides on both last week, I now put Kumba ahead. I may change my mind next time. Who knows.
i miss this ride, and Busch Gardens Williamsburg in general. Six Flags Great Adventure is technically my home park, but BGW feels like home so much more to me. I remember coming home from my first trip there over 10 years ago, and i came home and couldn’t stop watching povs and reliving it 😌 i miss theme parks ugh, thanks for providing such wonderful content to fill the void till i can return to my happy place(s)
For a re review, Ghostrider. In Ghostrider you missed the insane drop off the midcourse, where it almost feels like the ride wants to kill you. For a new one, Space Mountain at Disneyland. Absolutely underrated, only in house built coaster by Disney until Dynamic Attractions re tracked it, and it feels pretty crazy in the back row.
5:50 1 Fact: 2018 clone of that can operate without water. But much more strong final brake. Having a B&M clone on that at my home park, always enjoy it.
At first I was thinking "how is it possible that he hasn't already reviewed Griffon of all coasters? What next, a new video about an in-depth look at Kings Dominion?" I like the idea of taking a new look at previously reviewed coasters. Nice video.
Hi Taylor, I really like this! I’ve always wanted you to revisit the Virginia coasters and parks with the more modern review format if that makes sense.
As someone who has been watching for years and lives in the same coaster area as you, I’ve been waiting for a re review of these coasters that you reviewed so long ago. Happy that you’ve gone ahead and done it lil’ phantom needs a new review for sure
I remember doing the coaster tour and loved it. You also get a view of the Budweiser plant that isn’t far out too The view I also agree from up above is breathtaking
I rode griffon last year and while it isn’t my favorite coaster at BGW, it is my favorite dive coaster. I knew the drops and immelmanns would feel the same way I expected. But the 2 small airtime pops towards the end of the ride really surprised me, especially the one going into the break run. Hope you can redo more of these reviews from early on bc I really like the way you do reviews now
You should probably do this with coasters like x2, and steel eel as your thoughts have drastically changed. Also, even some more modern Park reviews for parks like san antonio, some of the six flags parks, and cedar point
I love Griffon, it's defo my favorite of all Dive Coasters I've been on! Apollo's Trim is dull and uneventful so it makes sense to prefer Griffon, but I think Verbolten is my favourite coaster in the park! Oh and it can still operate without splash down, on my visit the trains were missing their scoops and it was running fine!
BG used to be my home park now i live 5 minutes from carowinds...unfortunately covid closed life 😒, but apollo and griffon holds special places in my heart looking forward to riding fury 325 and copperhead strike
Planning on going here for the 1st time in 2021!! I love rollercoasters (home park is SF Great America) but I can’t seem to get over my fear of heights. I hate the ride up but once I know we are at the top I’m hands up.
I enjoyed it, It rode it once in August 2018. I’m Looking to return to Busch Gardens Williamsburg again. It’s the only dive coaster I’ve ridden so far.
One of the best things about griffin is that if you go on a rainy day and majority of the tourists leave because they think they got rained out, griffin is one of the Rollercoasters that let you ride over, and over without getting out of your seat. I once rode it 5 times in a row without getting off. The rain does hurt a little when you get to the top, though.
I visited BGW in 2019 for the first time. I loved the park. I only got two rides on Griffon but I was very impressed with the coaster. I had ridden Sheikra at BGT but I liked Griffon a tad bit more. To me, Griffon was a smoother ride and I enjoyed the 2nd half of the ride more than Sheikra. I left BGW thinking Griffon was either the #1 or #2 coaster in the park, battling Apollo's Chariot for the top spot. I look froward to going back to BGW. This time I will know to stay away from the long steps that are near Lock Ness Monster. The steps wore me out, me being 55 years old.
I just rode iron menace two weekends ago and it can definitely hold more of it’s own to the bigger dive coaster because like you Said Since the 2000’s when The Two Busch Gardens Parks on the East Coast Both up n down it had the only two Dive Coasters in America B&M has definitely improved upon the Dive Coaster Just Like they improved upon their Hyper Coaster Models as well
I wonder if I'd like "Yukon Striker" better than Griffon because of how cool it looks, but then I remember it has those awful vest restraints that B&M really should've changed early on and I think it would default me to preferring Griffon anyday. Baron 1949 would be the competition for me if I ever get over there to ride it.
I would give it an 8. I think it pretty short(Because my home park is SFMM and I ride twisted colossus so much). Also, can you please do more parodies? They are the best part of your channel. Unfortunately I don’t have a lot of footage to be able to really do a proper review on rides like Oblivion or Galactica. I would love to but it just isn’t practical.
Hi there I’m going to the Tampa park soon, and it says Sheikra is temporarily closed. I know on Tuesday a water pipe broke, shutting the park down, but does anyone have more info? (I’m going to the park this Saturday.
My review is simple. Best roller coaster at Busch Gardens Williamsburg and the best dive coaster I've ridden personally. The only other two I've ridden are Sheikra at Busch Gardens Tampa at #2 and Valravn at Cedar Point at #3.
I don't pay much attention nor go to a lot of parks around the USA but do all dive coasters have the slighter higher seats in the back or is that just Griffon
Griffon is one of the best coasters at Busch Gardens Williamsburg but I think Apollo's Chariot and Alpengeist are better. Also my favorite dive coaster is Sheikra!
The way you were describing that first drop made it sound kind of like a drop tower. Is it a similar sensation. I have never ridden and B&M dive before, so im pretty curious what that feels like.
This is one of the only coasters ive riden that I consistently black out on haha. I dont know what it is, but every time around the middle of the immelman i just instantly black out.
I do see what you mean about those restraints allowing for better airtime compared to the vests. The problem is that the GP are really bothered by those headbanging B&M restraints. I talk to them all the time, and they love the vests. They didn't seem to like Griffon, complaining of headbanging. That's why it (and Alpengeist) had no line when I was there, even though the other rides were slammed with huge lines. With the vests, the key is to not staple yourself when pulling down the restraint. You will still get great airtime on the drop.
Six Flags laughs at that limit. They'll operate them until the circuit timers make it clear it'll valley if they don't shut down. And so does Batman in particular. Seriously those things still haul at 20°F and I've seen it open in the teens.
Why didn't you do a review of any coaster at Gardaland? You just reviewed the park in general, no reviews of Raptor or Oblivion The Black Hole... It's my home park and I'd really like to hear an american's opinion on them!
Let me join the noise in saying yes you should do more re reviews but I also think you should do updated park battles as well since the last time you did them alot of parks have changed
Enjoy this first of many re-reviews! If you have any suggestions, feel free to post them down below- I already have several in the works!
You need to re-review X2 very badly.

Hulk!!! It has had a full retrack now!
Raging bull?
Alpengeist
I think you should do some more re-reviews

Taylor should do these on the ones that are like 6 years old
Like Six Flags America
