Riding a bike is dangerous but there are ways you can mitigate the danger. Personally, I always wear full gear when going out riding and I wear a bright yellow reflector vest when I riding after sunset. The feeling of riding a bike is one of the most enjoyable things I've ever done. Going out on a twisty road is better than sex, imo. Basically, it's worth the risk.
