Stores that are cosmetically more appealing will get away with this, since it’s a more pleasant shopping experience vs Walmart
It’s meant to lure rich people into making them feel of higher status for buying simple groceries

I bought a bag of Chamberlain Coffee at Sprouts for $11, which was for me more than what I’d normally pay for a bag of coffee (usually around $6). But hey, Emma seems to know her coffee so it was worth it to find out. After having seen this I feel like I got a bargain! 😂
$40 FOR OLIVE OIL?!?!
My local grocery store puts Folger's coffee on sale about every six weeks. You can get a container that usually sells for $12.89 for $7.99. I buy two at a time and save $10.
All of the natural/organic foods sold inside that store are already expensive. No matter what state they are sold in. Because it’s LA the price is even higher. An example would be that Dave’s killer bread is still $5.99 for a loaf here in central Pennsylvania. I guess the prices are crazy no matter how you look at it.

The admission price for these actors to enter their own theatre of human folly is not cheap. It makes perfect sense to pay $39 for a small bottle of mineralized water that's handcrafted. But they like to wear a humble costume so they're not caught manufacturing self-publicity and flaunting their social status (or cleverly downplaying it). The higher priced items are props.
This is what wholefoods looked like when it 1st came to NJ.
I find it hilarious that people have bought into this marketing crap. Their area to buy already cooked food looks like it has some nice fresh good looking food (would never that much for it though). Wonder how much food waste they have at the end of the day.
There is a supermarket here in nyc called Gristedes that will give them a run for their money 💰

Is there a no shopping cart policy in there? Maybe people walking around can only afford a basket full of items or go mainly for the prepared foods. That seemed to be the hub of activity. Interesting to see how much food waste they have. They probably claim to do something clever with it like make compost.

oh nicem Erewhon makes their own water, like Costco. Except one single bottle of Erewhon water cost about $5, whereas you can get 30 bottles of Costco water for $4. Water is water. This place is a rip off
Erewhon is an overrated overpriced elitist dump. It’s a good place to go if you want high interest rates on your credit card (they’re suddenly “too hip” to accept cash payments) and enjoy being treated like crap. I’ll stick to Trader Joe’s.
people love shit packaged in pretty little boxes. but i'm sure if i was rich i'd probably shop there too. hate the game. so much pscyhology goes into it. I'm sure the smaller isle are for some psychological reason too. "sustainable sushi" while producing enormous amounts of waste and unnecessary packaging. dystopian

I don't get it. All these items are boutique, high quality goods. Of course you're gonna see a premium. Would definitely shop here.

@@TylersTruckTravels But these goods are genuinely higher grade than the mass produced products being sold out other markets. less chemicals, less preservatives, authentic and real. I for one don't have an issue spending the extra on things like that.
And when you pop to Walmart etc and see many of the same items, (same make, same size etc) for a much lower price?
