      Hey my friend you would be disgusted if you seen the internal components of that board it is some really cheap Chinese circuitry. I just posted a video on my channel if you'd like to see it it's pretty rough in there.

    I’ve had the gtx for a year and a gtr for a year and Evolve keeps up with technology. I loved my gtr and never had any issue but like you I needed more and I hope evolve will give more. They need more speed and torture. I moved on to a Lacroix Prototipo DSS50+ and I’m really loving it and it’s giving me what I was missing. The gtr is a beast carving machine so we’ll se what they come out with next.

    Y'all have not had fun till you've shredded on a golf course late late at night..... seriously the most fun ive ever had in my life. Currently working on a 28ah and 42ah battery for the GTR carbon for some more lengthy rides!!!

    • @ASeSkater
      @ASeSkater  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's one for the bucket list for sure!! And 42ah dang! That's more than 3 times more capacity than the stock battery! Fair play dude

      @@ASeSkater seriously the cart paths are a perfect eskate race track! I built a custom carbon fiber adapter plate that attaches to the board on the bottom and allows you to hold 1 or 2 extra oem evolve 14Ah packs with just a Y adapter or 2. Just like that you got 40+ miles of fun plug and play my brotha.

    The issue with the evolve remote.... is the evolve remote.
    I'm sorry... you have tried to sugarcoat a SERIOUS fault with this board. It is, in my opinion, inexcusable.
    If I worked for evolve, it would be my number one project not only to redesign a remote that actually works without dropouts but to engage in a program to recall and swap out all existing speed controllers and remotes with this new remote.
    This could be done in conjunction with the new board and remote they just released.
    I have personally experienced drops outs with their R-2 remotes so often, and once in a situation that could have even been life threatening, that I will no longer use this remote but instead have rebuilt their R1 remote several times now. It is so dangerous, in point of fact, that I would not even use it as a back up. I would use it only to get me back to my car or home in the event of my R1 failure.
    Granted my board is one of the original GT Carbon series boards, but this IS an issue that they can and should address through service and or upgrade.

    Solid review, I really dig that you included customer service experiences as that quite often gets skipped in reviews like this. Likewise mentioning the size of the community behind these is a nice touch, the OW community was one of the reasons I picked one up.
    Small critique of the video, the audio mix at the beginning was a little off making it a little difficult to hear you over the music, but this got better further in :D

    • @ASeSkater

    Thanks, appreciate the effort and quality of the review. Not an e skateboard user. The Bamboo GTR is the remaining model on the list. Solid R&D, quality manufacturing, and great customer service. My emails to Evolve have all received replies within a day. Awesome considering I'm not a Evolve rider. Similar concerns regarding the remote. No option to set some expo on the braking function lever? Bit of experience with lipo powered r/c platforms and outboard boat motor. One issue with fast charging can be individual cell and/or battery health. Health in terms of capacity and charge cycle life. Personally rather maximize the number of charge/discharge cycles with the ideal charge rate. Life. Compromises.

    I would say that they should add USB ports to their chargers. It makes it easier to charge the remote and lights when you are charging up the board battery. You pay a lot so a higher rate charger makes sense. I would like the charge rate adjustable so if you aren't in a rush, you can be easier on the battery. I would also like to see a switch or adjustment on the charger for the total percentage charged. It makes it easier to charge for storage. It makes it easier to charge to 80% for short rides and maintain a longer life span on the battery.

    Great review! One of my issues you mentioned was the brakes being sensitive downhill I almost flew off by just slightly hitting the brakes gives you a very sharp jerk and I can never slowly press down without it happening once you build up speed. I recommend slightly pressing the brake trigger while going down hill gives you much more control. Evolve Tip 101

      @ASeSkater  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Eric. And great tip! I do the same when going downhill

    • @solomonjenkins9505
      @solomonjenkins9505 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah I've found that to be a big issue as well. I like to hit the throttle going downhill still, but I definitely make sure to drop my stance reaaal low before touching the brakes at all. Was going 48k downhill once and touched the brakes as softly as I could...nearly flew right off. My stance was dropped too.

    Funny because the R2 remote is these best designed one because it gives you the feeling of a actual trigger to peddle performance like in a car. Its easier to hold as well. I have mine hooked to a retractable key chain so is snaps to my sides and doesn't hang from my wrist I feel this is better and safer.

    love the video man. I have a CGTR and ive put 500-600 miles on it. im a hard rider as in i love gunning it, going max speed as often as i can my setup is the 107s with the 32teeth pulleys i weigh 190Lb and i can get a max speed of 30Mph. i ride my GTR everyday i can get a solid 20 Miles range with my riding style.i really Evolves next board to have bigger motors and a higher top speed 35mph at least with more range. ive only had one current issue with my CGTR my motor, something came loose inside but evolve kindly are sending me a free motor. the remote is a huge downside for me its so fragile i dropped my first remote very lightly and the spring inside came loose and the screen broke. After that i had to but a skin or sleeve for the remote which was 3D printed and it had protected my remote like a charm ive dropped it a couple times now and nothing. get some protection

    • @ASeSkater
      @ASeSkater  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for sharing your experience! I love gunning it too! Glad to hear that evolve are getting a new motor to you, and yeah I think their remotes are super fragile so you always need to be extra careful not to drop it. I'm using the same 3D case, its a must for the R2.

The only thing I could add is that the terrain I'm riding is the single biggest factor in the range I get. Long wet grass is an absolute battery and passion killer! You've got some resonance for that there video editing malarkey! Brilliant skillzzz!

    I love my GTR AT board. We were living in the USA when they first came out (GT board). I had both GT and bamboo. I'm thinking about getting the bamboo GTR board just to have a little better carving (when I have a need). Our kids can use whatever board I'm not on. The only negative thing for me is the APP. Like you, I just gave up. Did they ever get it up and working? The next bug for me is (AND IT IS NOT EVOLVE'S FAULT) is that in Germany you need a rear "license plate". I still haven't figure out were I need to go and get one. I still haven't got one.

  • @hpgurgel

    Bought a Carbon GTR 3 months ago, went to swap the AT wheels with the street 107s and I had a massive hard time as I had to bash the wheels onto the drive gear and only managed to get them fitted after applying some lub. Not happy about that.
    Range on the AT wheels is pretty poor (around 23km - I'm 95kg and I only use GTR mode) as you mentioned and I find the street ones a bit rough to ride on. Looking to upgrade it late this year but ain't getting ripped off with a Hadean so will look for other brands.

    GTR Torque is lower than Old Evolve GT. (Even in top 100% battery) I am really missing the torque of GT! GTR brakes are much softer and this socks because sometimes you need to brake to avoid the danger. I prefer more aggressive brakes of GT. (My experience 1year GTX 1.5 CGT and 2 years of GTR)

    • @thomasbarlow4223
      @thomasbarlow4223 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really? That's crazy they'd go with less power. I wonder if it's all in the esc that makes it slow. Not the motors....

      @kevinkott9853 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thomasbarlow4223 yes, its the ESC! GTR does not have sag like old GT. However, at like 70% of the battery the GTR's top speed drops to 18mph max (AT configuration) The torque is lower GTR is a good boring commuter board.

    forget Evolve, go for the Miles sex panther. The sex panther Has way better specs in speed and range, same level of water resistant, really reliable, looks stunning, and most importantly its only half the price of the evolve. The Miles team is also great at answering questions and receiving feedback. They can take sometimes a day to get back to you, but they always give you an answer. And the sex panther comes in either direct-drive or belt-motors. For those who like off-roading, go for the belt motors so you can use the AT wheels, and you can also swap the AT wheels for street wheels. And i can’t stress enough how good the sex panther looks. Evolve is like Samsung, yea they’re good and reliable, but they’re price are just too much, were as the sex panther is more like apple (although it may not have as many features) it’s actually really really reliable, and actually worth the price. Which the price is originally around 2k but its on sale for 1,100-1,300$, and knowing Miles history, i wouldn’t doubt if it stayed in sale forever just like the rest of the Miles boards. Don’t get me wrong the evolve looks good but just a bit overpriced for what you are getting compared to the competition.

      @@ASeSkater lol i know, but so what. Its still better than the evolve and significantly cheaper. The name is the last thing i care about when i’m about to spend over a grand for an electric skateboard. And it just looks so clean with the carbon fiber.

Its telling that they are a new brand, the one man show behind the brand has some things to learn very quickly

    • @Ec8625ec
      @Ec8625ec 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ASeSkater i guess i see your point. I just personally don’t think it’s too bad of a name (although it’s pretty funny), and i like that Rob Rast is really involved with the product. To me it shows that he actually cares. But anyways the evolve is cool, my friend has the bamboo, but i just gotta say. Besides the stupid name both me and him agree that its the best bang for the buck, considering the countless of electric skateboard companies that are constantly coming out. Im still waiting on ming to arrive but if it’s anything like the Miles phantom, its gonna be killer.

    You make good video's but im not inline with your meaning off evolve.
    evolve isn't priced competitive their boards look good but perform meh. like 1000 euro boards out perform their 1700 euro and up boards you cant say its fair priced. 700 bucks for customer service isn't fair. i one day looked at their products and even the belts cost 25 euro's just bruh these things are 5 to 10 bucks on every other company,. Maybe if money isn't a concern it is a nice board but than i whould choice laxroic over evolve or the exway atlas ( better performence looks and feels kinda simulair).
