@@jumptodown 6374 and 13S will absolutely beat the 6368 and 12S setup. Only drawback was larger diameter cloudwheels (120mm) vs their street that's why the acceleration was slower. Not a good comparison. This video seems like it was made for Evolve customers only.
@@My2JZandMe After all, on the same wheels the difference between the boards would be simply smaller. If someone doesn't check it, it's hard to say who would win. Zeus has a much greater range. Maybe this is due not only to the huge battery, but also to the lower setting of the current limit in the ESC (what I don't know) and a different gear ratio. Something for something.

Great stuff. Both boards seem great, and power delivery optimized well for the Hadean given its more 'surfy' dkp trucks, and more top end on the zeus with its more stable ride at speed. Love the style of the vid, both objective and subjective points made and informative enough for potential buyers to choose either one👍👍
Great video guys! I have a about 350 miles on Zeus so far and absolutely love it. I’m also a very carvy rider and have found that there’s a very different kind of carving that happens at the higher speeds… starting at around 25 mph or so… that feels more like snowboarding to me. Thus, with its super ultra stability, I’ve been riding the Zeus at much highly speeds than I ever expected to enjoy. (Geared up, btw). I like the ride of the Zeus so much… I’ve decided to customize it. I’m switching out the ESC for a Spintend Ubox VESC… and having a custom battery built for me (13s4p Molicel p42a) and also adding a Davega X display. So for less than the cost of the Haden… I’m going to get an X-Zeus that, at least spec wise… should smoke the Hadean without flinching. However, it will still be that super stable Zeus set-up so… not only will it likely reach speed more quickly than Hadean… but also feel super comfortably stable once I get there. Selling the original Zeus battery and also the free Shredlights pack that can with it, plus Scott’s 10% discount… my superZeus will cost around $2000 total. Foe what it’s worth… sharing a bit of my Zeus experience and Zeus plan. I’ll definitely share vids once the VESC and upgraded battery are installed. At that point, I’d love to race a Hadean and see what happens.
I feel like both boards should be using the same wheels and pullys as each other. Even if thats not how the board comes out of the box I think it still makes the test more accurate Great vid none the less
yea i hear ya… i was goin for a out of the box comparison is what im going for. most ppl wont choose the 97mm. however i will do a short video with 97mm vs 97mm. BUT, the zeus is already using 44t pullies.. IFFF i down it to 32t like the evolve, itll suffer off the line and top speed. the zeus isnt built for powerful acceleration. thats why they tried makin up with the 44t.. i predict if i do 97mm wheels with with 44t will suffer all across the board..
agreed, I think if they used the same wheels and pulleys the zeus would probably be faster since it has larger and higher wattage motors (6374 vs 6368 and 3350x2 vs 3000x2 respectively) of course theres other things like esc programming and rider weight that affect speed and acceleration, so its hard to be 100% scientific
Everyone has their own opinions on what’s good for them. Some people like dkp with flex some people don’t like dkp and rather have a firm deck. One is not better then the other for each individual rider.

i wanted to do “out of the box” comparison.. if i put 97mm on the zeus, the acceleration would be only a LITTLE bit better yet lack a decent amount in its top speed. then ppl will get mad. ..a lot of ppl dont have the funds to purchase more wheels to to a comparison like that. if we start changing wheels, then u make it unbalanced for its standard setup vs its standard setup. 120mm cloudswheels are still urethane and have wayy more top speed given its so much bigger ANDDD the zeus is using 44T pullies. i put 32t (like the evolve) and 97mm wheels on the zeus, it might not ever catch up to the hadean
@@esk8unity I thought the point was to have them on an even playing field and compare them so you get an idea of their speed, torque and distance versus their on paper numbers. Both boards ship with skate wheels so it's not really more funds, especially if you have the money to buy an overpriced hadean lol. Cloud wheels are still urethane, but that doesn't mean they perform anywhere near a PU skate wheel. I thought it not catching up was the point, to see what the strengths and weaknesses are for both boards when pitting them against each other, I'm not hating on your video, just trying to get an idea why this would show anyone anything besides how different wheels stunt a board like the zeus when it's clearly a far more powerful board than the hadean for more than half the price. Evolve boards are also well known for superior acceleration versus other boards and coupling that with PU wheels will obviously have faster takeoff, again not trying to be a dick but I could've told you all the results for each test before you did anything purely based on the wheels you're using, that's why it makes the tests obselete.

@@esk8unity The problem is you and I are debating two entirely different things, you are saying it's an out of the box comparison, which is fine, but I am saying that the test won't show the strengths and weaknesses of each board in comparison to each other if you're using different wheels, it's that simple.
When talking about stiffness and single kingpin confidence, I totally agree. My lycaon swift w/ cloud wheels I'm super confident on and feel locked in. Literally will cruise across all of brooklyn on that thing without hesitance w an average of 20- 22 mph.

I'm doing the same... I like the stability of the Zeus as I'm a heavier rider and don't want to go down, (obviously) lol. I also like the top speed of the Zeus as well, but as a new rider (and with my riding style of torque > top speed), I doubt I will ever top out the Zeus. I absolutely love the torque, breaking, build quality, unboxing experience and the remote on the Hadean. I would be wearing gloves (most of the time) when I ride, so I agree that the Evolve Hadean remote seems like it would be better for gloves. I'm way more interested in the Carbon Hadean than the Bamboo Hadean (because of my weight), so this comparison was cool, but I wish it was done with a Carbon Hadean instead. Either way, I'm still grateful for the comparison and I feel like ESK8UNITY did a great job on it. I'm sure they will release more vids in the future on both boards. I didn't think it would be the case, as I was really leaning towards the Zeus after seeing Scott Davie's videos on it, but now I'm looking into the Hadean as well. Not much content on it ATM though... Hopefully that will change soon and I can look into it more. Top 3 boards I'm looking at right now are: 1. Evolve Hadean Carbon - Torque/Breaking/Build Quality/Remote/Unboxing Experience 2. Ownboard Zeus - Stability/Top Speed/Build Quality 3. Propel Endeavor Pro - Stability/Build Quality/True AT Experience If anyone has another board that they can recommend to a brand new ESK8 rider, please feel free to let me know. I know all the boards I'm looking at getting are on the expensive side, but I'm the type of person that buys the best for my money and grows into it instead of working my way up with cheaper boards and continuously replacing them when they fail. Quality means A LOT to me. I utilize this method with pretty much everything I purchase.

@@iAmMrHD When I bought that GTX I was over 330lbs, I also rode it with 20-30lbs camera gear often. All with no problem. Eventho the battery is mega old, with 100mm wheels I am able to do 18km/11 miles still. So the Hadean with double the enginepower and the bigger batt should be smooth sailing. I'm 260 now, and rapidly losing so I see my range increase hehe. I guess eating healthier and walking an hour a day is a great eskate upgrade! ;)

Fred I know you’re not a huge fan of 7” tyres and generally prefer 6” but how did you find the quality of the new Evolve tyres? Did you notice any imbalance or wobble at all? I’ve had that problem many times in the past and is often a manufacturing defect and not fixable. I really hope they’ve sorted that out on the Hadean.

i can do 97mm on the zeus.. my prediction it will help a little off the line but suffer more with top speed. the zeus isnt geared to he powerful with acceleration
Great vid guys. My Zeus is supposed to arrive on Saturday (tomorrow). Can’t wait. Also have an Endeavor S on its way too. Can not wait to get on the Zeus. I have cloud wheels on my G3 and much as I like the look and ride, it really did cut down on the miles per charge. My G3 has the flex deck, so I am curious about your thoughts on the carbon fiber deck and not being as flexible. I prefer flex decks, so will be curious to see the Zeus. Love the ESK8 vids guys.

I do know that the cloud wheels caused a range issue on the G3 that I have. Noticed it right away. Either way, the cloud wheels look dope as hell on a board and with the electronics in the Ownboard, I agree with you. Will be a pretty sic ride. Can't wait.
Such a shocking difference of accelleration. This shows that we can't compare boards technically with major information missing. Here the motors kv has a lot of impact. Also we compare the size and power of the motors, and that makes no sense when the limitation is due to the power provided by the ESC. Thank you to compare the Hadean with a real Hadean in hands !!! And thank you to speak about the problem of the craks of the roads that push us aside, This is a major concern for my safety.
Awesome video especially ride style (lower speeds vs high speed "straight lining".. I'm just like u, I don't have the luxury of having nice roads so I keep it between 15-20mph. Trucks set up for immediate response. For newbies, this is a main reason for premature failure of boards. Know your terrain and have the right set up for it. Hitting potholes at 25+ is guaranteed damage 💔 😢.
Great video! I got a Zeus a couple weeks ago and I’m a totally amateur. I see in your videos you jumping every time you are going over some obstacle. Do you recommend it and could you elaborate on why is good to do this little jumps? I saw that as a thing to do on my longboard.
Good video guys! Thanks 👍 Two very interesting boards to review! I’ve always been keen on an Evolve but the full throttle disconnect issues I read about scared me off. I’ll be interested to see how the new GTR 2 goes for reliability. I ended up getting a Backfire Zealot S which has been great so far. When I upgrade in the future (which might be quite a long time based on how much I enjoy the Zealot) I will be interested in the Zeus Pro or GTR 2. Wouldn’t rule out another Backfire either! I have meepo skateboard, quality sssuck:( I changed the motherboard, 1 hub motor and front wheels, riding only 1 year... My friend has boosted for 3 years without any issues.. I wanted to buy Meepo Hurricane but buying Hadean instead..
the zeus is already geared for 44t. the evolve is using 32t..if i put 32t on the zeus with 97mm wheels, it would never be able to catch up to the hadean… this is why “out of the box” comparison is so important. to see how the manufacturer made/tuned/geared/built there boards. which one is better at which attributes…. zeus has higher speeds and longer range. evolve has more initial power and innovation.thanks for the comment and thank u for watching!
I have to give you a lot of credit for your example while riding in the city on the Hadean... Great points made there and it made me realize that's more of my ride style than top speed. I love torque and acceleration, I just want to feel safe while enjoying it, lol. And obviously you need great brakes for great acceleration. Would really like for you to review an Endeavor Pro cause I want to hear your take on it. Probably not your style of board, but I'm sure you can give a unbiased review. I know you own the Flux Motion AT2, Hadean, and Zeus. Which board would you recommend for a brand new ESK8 rider that prefers comfort, stability, torque, strong yet smooth brakes, great fit and finish?
@@iAmMrHD thank u for ur postivity! and im happy to help.. honestly, the 2 in 1 serips are ALWAYS great for beginners and for those that dont want to purchase ANOTHER board later on after they have improved there riding skills.. for instance with the hadean, u keep it on safe mode, and then pro mode. great entry level modes. then u step up to corsa mode and custom mode and turn up the juice.. if u arent heavy and we share similar riding styles, evolve, onsra, verreal, are all good ones.. the more money u spend, the more u will get . theres also the boundmotor flash, the meepo hurrican, the zeus, the B one.. and a few others… id love to give a review on the Propel. i can adapt to any board 👌🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

Kinda wish the brakes on the Zeus were a little stronger. That extra braking you get just before it stops, if it were that level from start to finish I think it'd be much better. Will just have to wait a while and put a vesc into it Also, to charge the Zeus from empty to full takes 8 hours, ran it close to empty a couple days back and timed it to fully charge
@@68at97 which one do you recommend, I looked on aliexpress (don't know other sources) and saw one option with the same plug and correct voltage, but they only had up to 5amps, so their 8 (the one I would have gone for) and 10 was out of stock
Honestly the slow charge is better for the battery and heat build up. Since it has such a long range I've never had a charging issue. I just plug it in at night. I noticed that hard break on the last few feet as well. It's interesting they went with a breaking curve like that.
Seems like I should have went with Evolve again… Waiting for my ZEUS. Still skeptical about TKP trucks but I want to give them a try and I can change them to DKP later easily. Torque is not great because of 50A ESC with 170kV motors so ESC is better to be changed. VESC with VX2/VX3 remotes can simulate Evolve pretty much with their remotes. BTW I know you made video with comparison of 32T: it shows that Evolve ESC is more powerful and Evolve has lower Kv rating of motors (bigger torque, lower speed).

Gear the Zeus to have similar top speed and put the same size wheels on both. Then redo the races. I'm sure they would be much closer matched at that point. Great video though. Lots of very useful information 🤙
Nice comparisons. I would love to have seen you ride both boards on street wheels yourself and do a timed acceleration test. That would be the fairest. I feel like the Zeus is the middle ground between a Hadean and Lecroix. A VESC would have been perfect. I was hoping you'd switch boards to see if the riding style made a difference. Both great boards for their riding styles.
I noticed the Bustin Board's Sportster up against the wall and Just wanted to take a moment to say that Bustin Boards is the best skateboard brand there is. They make the sickest longboards there are, and they are the only actual skateboard company that makes electric skateboards
Guys I've seen a few comments here about how the Hadean is more powerful, more torque, etc... trust me it's all about how the ESC has been programmed. We've seen the out of the box proof in this video - Thanks btw!!. BUT the Zeus could easily be programmed to duplicate the same performance with an aftermarket VESC. The Zeus has more power available with a bigger battery and motors. For an $1100 difference in price it's your call after the Zeus warranty is over, and you want more, just buy a controller you can DIY program. My buddy bought an Eovan GTR, and had issues with 2 of their ESC's - kept giving him issues with his motors, so he bought a Lacroix Stormcore VESC, and the torque difference was so insane it was scary. I would put money against it that his Eovan could now beat the Hadean - all only because of programming. Of course the manufacturers try to find the best balance between performance and range. Ideally they should let the users be able to adjust for their own riding styles in a easy to use app. Eventually we'll get there. Overall I love the style and spizzaz that Evolve adds to their boards, but they need to drop about $500 off the price. For the price difference as it is, I'd choose the Zeus and mod it down the road. Torque is way more fun for me!
100% facts about the power/esc …. 100% facts about a vesc and it going inside a zeus.. BUT the zeus doesnt have vesc… so that defeats the purpose of the video if i did that.. just like most youtubers like dkwan, scott davies, andrew penman, drumar, and dozens of others… this is reviews of how they are from the manufacturer aka out of the box. NOT tweaking and changing the esc.. i totally respect the knowledge and skillset of diy, but not everyone is into doing that. most ppl that look up these videos, want to BUY and RIDE. and now they have a channel to compare how they are out of the box. i respectfully disagree about the price, BUT i agree the carbon hadean is overpriced. but so are many other boards like the metroboardx. thank you for ur knowledge and input 👏🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
@ViKing @@esk8unity The whole point of this and many other TH-cam reviewers making these videos is for the person who is either into ESK8 or trying to get into ESK8 that want to know what board to purchase. You can mod almost anything to make it better, but not everyone wants to do that. That's what the DIY community is for. ESK8UNITY doesn't seem like a DIY type, he seems to enjoy purchasing a product and taking it out of the box, charging it, and going for a ride and enjoying it. I am the same way... Not to say down the line I won't be into the DIY scene, but for now, being brand new to ESK8, I want to just purchase a board and enjoy it. I believe the Hadean is overpriced as well btw, but that doesn't take away it's advantages as there are other boards and products on the market that are overpriced and people still buy them. There's a reason for that...
1: i did do it with the same wheels and it didnt work out for the zeus 2: its a out if the box comparison 3: they r tuned veryy differently. so same wheels doesnt make the comparison accurate
Been waiting for someone to make this comparison video... You guys did a great job on it. Went through all the details and didn't just go over specs, which people can easily look up themselves. I enjoyed the races and the ode to Mortal Kombat... lol. I was really into the Ownboard Zeus, but you made great points about the Hadean. I love the remote as I'm a geek, and although I'm brand new to ESK8, I still love going super fast in small bursts on my electric scooter (think 0-20mph and then coast, then rolling at 15mph-30mph). Torque > Top Speed for me all day. I am a heavier rider though, so I need stability and I've heard horrific things about DKP Trucks at higher speeds. Maybe I might have to consider the Hadean after all, cause I doubt I'd ever actually max it out... Just pull and coast... Thoughts?
I'm 200lbs and hit 64km/h on there Zeus going under an overpass. It pulls hard and pulls all the way up through the powerband. I know the Evolve has faster acceleration and Esk8unity is the only one that has ridden them both equally. I assume he would be able to ride the Zeus faster than his pal because my Zeus in Turbo accelerate pretty damn fast. It kicks harder the faster it goes. Can't loose with either of those but they are very different rides technically.

So for safety you teach us how to run red lights? They have meaning regardless of what you ride and in my country it is equally illegal to run a red light in crossing regardless if you are on a bike or skateboard.
not even close.. the polish is way better on the hadean.. the hadean also has more than 24 more features /innovation/technology than the hurricane. the hurricane rear trucks are snapping on riders as well and failing batteries.. also, the hurricane is a VERY , thick, heavy carbon fiber board… hadean is the first 2 in 1 flex deck with this much power and a 12s… now everyone is gunna start copying that too.
To be fair, you used worse wheels on the zeuss while racing, and also the Zeus has a much greater top speed, the the hadean could never reach because of its dkp
i do 40mph on dkp.. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!… yes the zeus has higher top speed but takes a VERY long time to get there.. i also tested it with there 97mm and still couldnt keep up with the hadean
thanks bud!! me personally, i choose the bamboo hadean… evolve reaaalllyy did a great job with good everything here. what I mean is, good power without sacrificing range.. meepo runs out of power before hadean… yet the hadean is still a BIT more powerful off the line. but meepo def gets up to speed better.. evolve does have very good cells too.. I cant say but the results prove it.. the biggest plus is the flex deck. thats my personal preference and what I value most.. a group ride or even a fun cruise with my friend, a flex bamboo deck with a powerful 12s setup is key for me. carving rebound is amazing..dancing and slides, the bamboo works with me during the momentum. (i think i explain it in one if my later videos)… also, the innovation is insane.. remote, features, lights, on board diagnostics, cell diagnostics, screen, trip, odometer, wheel choices, modes, the app. evolve also has insane amount of accessories AVAILABLE in the USA. if i need tubes, tires, different color 97mm wheels, blue caguamas, great bearings, underlights, bashguards, colored wheel hubs, different size pullies , its a click away and available in the Usa.. no bs china ordering and only 1 or 2 options and not have to wait 3 weeks or more… all of this i VALUE. its a very big purchase. so i look at more then jus the spec sheet and the price… i hope others start doing that too
@@torion29able i also had a update from evolve.. so they sent me a return label and fed ex came to my house and took the board.. 5 days later, its back at my house (because my board was the first batch).. meepo, i been waitin almost a month for a simple charging port . the board wont turn on… thats why there hasnt been any meepo videos… paying more for a board, with all these postive outcomes is worth the more $$$

What's wrong with you? You shouldn't be promoting running red lights, in some countries eskate is illegal, this just makes us all look bad and will hinder legalisation.
its very well known in every big city. dc, chicago, nyc, jersey city and many others..cops prefer pev in the streets more than cars. too congested.. bike lanes are even more congested and has tons of careless pedestrians… different countries/cities have different ways..
@hamish @@esk8unity In NYC we have delayed greens so running a red isn't the worst because everything takes a second (including the perpendicular crosswalk light). Same with yielding to "all way stop signs" instead of stopping all the way (unless there is a car that definitely is about to go.

What a big deception the Zeus was. I know the different wheels but it has 44t so I don't see the zeus winning in any configuration. Also the Meepo Hurricane will beat the zeus for sure, more like the headen.
Not necessarily. With the same rider and same wheels it would absolutly be closer. The Evolve is known to have great pick up but at the same time can't touch the Zeus's top speed by quick a bit. The bottom line is that both of these have similar electronics, the Zeus actually has a bigger batter and Motors and the capacity to be programmed with a VESC to win. Evolve won't disclose what batteries they use. Carbon Zeus vs Carbon Hadean in my opinion is not worth double the price. You are paying for their marketing, lawyers and warranty which I've read is hit or miss.
@@robinhillierelectricrealto4409 but its not a different programmed vesc. this is the point of this review. out of the box , and how they do against the each other.. yes the evolve aint touchin the zeus top speed, jus like the zeus aint touchin the evolve power. if i put 97mm on the zeus, even with its stock 44t pullies, it still wont beat it off the line.. in fact, it’ll take away more top speed rather then gain more acceleration.. the zeus is geared for top speed, stability and range.. not power.. the evolve has always been known for its power. and now, it reach up to 29-31mph.. to me, its a perfect medium of power and top speed. i rarely hit 35-37 mph on my zeus.. and if it put evolve 32t on the zeus, it would never catch up to the evolve.. so, to conclude: the way the manufacturers put out the boards, thats the way to put them head to head. not changing wheels and gears.. i will do the 97mm wheel comparison just to satisfy my subscribers curiosity though 🤙🏼👌🏼
@@esk8unity I totally agree with those sentiments. I'm just referring to the internals and actual parts on each of them. Evolve has finer details down to packaging and branding for sure. Upgraded remote and such. The heart of the boards being the battery and ESC/VESC will drastically change a board. One is designed for "surfing" and pick up, the other is for stable top speed. That being said I honestly can't see me needing more pick up than the Zeus currently and I do ride fast and hard. I wonder which on you will end up riding more in the long term. Considering the Hadean is technically your preferred style. Keep me coming. Appreciate the content.

@@jumptodown 6374 and 13S will absolutely beat the 6368 and 12S setup. Only drawback was larger diameter cloudwheels (120mm) vs their street that's why the acceleration was slower. Not a good comparison. This video seems like it was made for Evolve customers only.
Zues has lower gearing... either way my bet the Hadean still walks all over the zeus it clearly has way more torque
@@My2JZandMe After all, on the same wheels the difference between the boards would be simply smaller. If someone doesn't check it, it's hard to say who would win. Zeus has a much greater range. Maybe this is due not only to the huge battery, but also to the lower setting of the current limit in the ESC (what I don't know) and a different gear ratio. Something for something.

Great stuff. Both boards seem great, and power delivery optimized well for the Hadean given its more 'surfy' dkp trucks, and more top end on the zeus with its more stable ride at speed. I have a about 350 miles on Zeus so far and absolutely love it.
I’m also a very carvy rider and have found that there’s a very different kind of carving that happens at the higher speeds… starting at around 25 mph or so… that feels more like snowboarding to me. Thus, with its super ultra stability, I’ve been riding the Zeus at much highly speeds than I ever expected to enjoy. (Geared up, btw).
I like the ride of the Zeus so much… I’ve decided to customize it.
I’m switching out the ESC for a Spintend Ubox VESC… and having a custom battery built for me (13s4p Molicel p42a) and also adding a Davega X display.
So for less than the cost of the Haden… I’m going to get an X-Zeus that, at least spec wise… should smoke the Hadean without flinching.
However, it will still be that super stable Zeus set-up so… not only will it likely reach speed more quickly than Hadean… but also feel super comfortably stable once I get there.
Selling the original Zeus battery and also the free Shredlights pack that can with it, plus Scott’s 10% discount… my superZeus will cost around $2000 total.
Foe what it’s worth… sharing a bit of my Zeus experience and Zeus plan.
I’ll definitely share vids once the VESC and upgraded battery are installed.
At that point, I’d love to race a Hadean and see what happens.

I feel like both boards should be using the same wheels and pullys as each other. Even if thats not how the board comes out of the box I think it still makes the test more accurate

yea i hear ya… i was goin for a out of the box comparison is what im going for. most ppl wont choose the 97mm. however i will do a short video with 97mm vs 97mm. BUT, the zeus is already using 44t pullies.. IFFF i down it to 32t like the evolve, itll suffer off the line and top speed. the zeus isnt built for powerful acceleration. thats why they tried makin up with the 44t.. i predict if i do 97mm wheels with with 44t will suffer all across the board..
agreed, I think if they used the same wheels and pulleys the zeus would probably be faster since it has larger and higher wattage motors (6374 vs 6368 and 3350x2 vs 3000x2 respectively) of course theres other things like esc programming and rider weight that affect speed and acceleration, so its hard to be 100% scientific
Everyone has their own opinions on what’s good for them. Some people like dkp with flex some people don’t like dkp and rather have a firm deck. One is not better then the other for each individual rider.

Guys if you're going to do a comparison, you have to use the same wheels.. street vs clouds is obviously going to yield vastly different results
i wanted to do “out of the box” comparison.. if i put 97mm on the zeus, the acceleration would be only a LITTLE bit better yet lack a decent amount in its top speed. then ppl will get mad. ..a lot of ppl dont have the funds to purchase more wheels to to a comparison like that. if we start changing wheels, then u make it unbalanced for its standard setup vs its standard setup. 120mm cloudswheels are still urethane and have wayy more top speed given its so much bigger ANDDD the zeus is using 44T pullies. i put 32t (like the evolve) and 97mm wheels on the zeus, it might not ever catch up to the hadean
@@esk8unity I thought the point was to have them on an even playing field and compare them so you get an idea of their speed, torque and distance versus their on paper numbers. Both boards ship with skate wheels so it's not really more funds, especially if you have the money to buy an overpriced hadean lol. Cloud wheels are still urethane, but that doesn't mean they perform anywhere near a PU skate wheel. I thought it not catching up was the point, to see what the strengths and weaknesses are for both boards when pitting them against each other, I'm not hating on your video, just trying to get an idea why this would show anyone anything besides how different wheels stunt a board like the zeus when it's clearly a far more powerful board than the hadean for more than half the price. Evolve boards are also well known for superior acceleration versus other boards and coupling that with PU wheels will obviously have faster takeoff, again not trying to be a dick but I could've told you all the results for each test before you did anything purely based on the wheels you're using, that's why it makes the tests obselete.

@@esk8unity The problem is you and I are debating two entirely different things, you are saying it's an out of the box comparison, which is fine, but I am saying that the test won't show the strengths and weaknesses of each board in comparison to each other if you're using different wheels, it's that simple.
When talking about stiffness and single kingpin confidence, I totally agree. My lycaon swift w/ cloud wheels I'm super confident on and feel locked in. Literally will cruise across all of brooklyn on that thing without hesitance w an average of 20- 22 mph.

I'm doing the same... I like the stability of the Zeus as I'm a heavier rider and don't want to go down, (obviously) lol. I also like the top speed of the Zeus as well, but as a new rider (and with my riding style of torque > top speed), I doubt I will ever top out the Zeus. I absolutely love the torque, breaking, build quality, unboxing experience and the remote on the Hadean. I would be wearing gloves (most of the time) when I ride, so I agree that the Evolve Hadean remote seems like it would be better for gloves.
I'm way more interested in the Carbon Hadean than the Bamboo Hadean (because of my weight), so this comparison was cool, but I wish it was done with a Carbon Hadean instead. Either way, I'm still grateful for the comparison and I feel like ESK8UNITY did a great job on it. I'm sure they will release more vids in the future on both boards.
I didn't think it would be the case, as I was really leaning towards the Zeus after seeing Scott Davie's videos on it, but now I'm looking into the Hadean as well. Not much content on it ATM though... Hopefully that will change soon and I can look into it more.
Top 3 boards I'm looking at right now are:
1. Evolve Hadean Carbon - Torque/Breaking/Build Quality/Remote/Unboxing Experience
2. Ownboard Zeus - Stability/Top Speed/Build Quality
3. Propel Endeavor Pro - Stability/Build Quality/True AT Experience
If anyone has another board that they can recommend to a brand new ESK8 rider, please feel free to let me know. I know all the boards I'm looking at getting are on the expensive side, but I'm the type of person that buys the best for my money and grows into it instead of working my way up with cheaper boards and continuously replacing them when they fail. Quality means A LOT to me. I utilize this method with pretty much everything I purchase.

@@iAmMrHD When I bought that GTX I was over 330lbs, I also rode it with 20-30lbs camera gear often. All with no problem. Eventho the battery is mega old, with 100mm wheels I am able to do 18km/11 miles still. So the Hadean with double the enginepower and the bigger batt should be smooth sailing. I'm 260 now, and rapidly losing so I see my range increase hehe. I guess eating healthier and walking an hour a day is a great eskate upgrade! ;)

Fred I know you’re not a huge fan of 7” tyres and generally prefer 6” but how did you find the quality of the new Evolve tyres? Did you notice any imbalance or wobble at all? I’ve had that problem many times in the past and is often a manufacturing defect and not fixable. I really hope they’ve sorted that out on the Hadean.

Great vid guys. My Zeus is supposed to arrive on Saturday (tomorrow). Can’t wait. Also have an Endeavor S on its way too. Can not wait to get on the Zeus. I have cloud wheels on my G3 and much as I like the look and ride, it really did cut down on the miles per charge. My G3 has the flex deck, so I am curious about your thoughts on the carbon fiber deck and not being as flexible. I prefer flex decks, so will be curious to see the Zeus. Love the ESK8 vids guys.
You won't have any range issues with clouds. I'm pretty sure Scott Davie got 66Km on them and he's 220 lbs

I do know that the cloud wheels caused a range issue on the G3 that I have. Noticed it right away. Either way, the cloud wheels look dope as hell on a board and with the electronics in the Ownboard, I agree with you. Will be a pretty sic ride. Can't wait.

Such a shocking difference of accelleration. This shows that we can't compare boards technically with major information missing. Here the motors kv has a lot of impact. Also we compare the size and power of the motors, and that makes no sense when the limitation is due to the power provided by the ESC. Thank you to compare the Hadean with a real Hadean in hands !!! And thank you to speak about the problem of the craks of the roads that push us aside, This is a major concern for my safety.

Awesome video especially ride style (lower speeds vs high speed "straight lining".. I'm just like u, I don't have the luxury of having nice roads so I keep it between 15-20mph. Trucks set up for immediate response. For newbies, this is a main reason for premature failure of boards. Know your terrain and have the right set up for it. Hitting potholes at 25+ is guaranteed damage 💔 😢.

Two very interesting boards to review! I’ve always been keen on an Evolve but the full throttle disconnect issues I read about scared me off. I’ll be interested to see how the new GTR 2 goes for reliability. I ended up getting a Backfire Zealot S which has been great so far. When I upgrade in the future (which might be quite a long time based on how much I enjoy the Zealot) I will be interested in the Zeus Pro or GTR 2. Wouldn’t rule out another Backfire either!

the zeus is already geared for 44t. the evolve is using 32t..if i put 32t on the zeus with 97mm wheels, it would never be able to catch up to the hadean… this is why “out of the box” comparison is so important. to see how the manufacturer made/tuned/geared/built there boards. which one is better at which attributes…. zeus has higher speeds and longer range. evolve has more initial power and innovation.thanks for the comment and thank u for watching!
I have to give you a lot of credit for your example while riding in the city on the Hadean... Great points made there and it made me realize that's more of my ride style than top speed. I love torque and acceleration, I just want to feel safe while enjoying it, lol. And obviously you need great brakes for great acceleration.

@@iAmMrHD thank u for ur postivity! and im happy to help.. honestly, the 2 in 1 serips are ALWAYS great for beginners and for those that dont want to purchase ANOTHER board later on after they have improved there riding skills.. for instance with the hadean, u keep it on safe mode, and then pro mode. great entry level modes. then u step up to corsa mode and custom mode and turn up the juice.. if u arent heavy and we share similar riding styles, evolve, onsra, verreal, are all good ones.. the more money u spend, the more u will get . theres also the boundmotor flash, the meepo hurrican, the zeus, the B one.. and a few others… id love to give a review on the Propel. i can adapt to any board 👌🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

Kinda wish the brakes on the Zeus were a little stronger. That extra braking you get just before it stops, if it were that level from start to finish I think it'd be much better.

Also, to charge the Zeus from empty to full takes 8 hours, ran it close to empty a couple days back and timed it to fully charge

@@68at97 which one do you recommend, I looked on aliexpress (don't know other sources) and saw one option with the same plug and correct voltage, but they only had up to 5amps, so their 8 (the one I would have gone for) and 10 was out of stock
Honestly the slow charge is better for the battery and heat build up. Since it has such a long range I've never had a charging issue. I just plug it in at night. I noticed that hard break on the last few feet as well. It's interesting they went with a breaking curve like that.

Waiting for my ZEUS. Still skeptical about TKP trucks but I want to give them a try and I can change them to DKP later easily. Torque is not great because of 50A ESC with 170kV motors so ESC is better to be changed. VESC with VX2/VX3 remotes can simulate Evolve pretty much with their remotes.
BTW I know you made video with comparison of 32T: it shows that Evolve ESC is more powerful and Evolve has lower Kv rating of motors (bigger torque, lower speed).

Why was the Zeus tested each time with only 4 bars left? Shouldn't they both have been tested against each other from being fully charged?
when the zeus had 4 bars, the hadean had 63%. which is less
Nice comparisons. I would love to have seen you ride both boards on street wheels yourself and do a timed acceleration test. That would be the fairest. I feel like the Zeus is the middle ground between a Hadean and Lecroix. A VESC would have been perfect. I was hoping you'd switch boards to see if the riding style made a difference. Both great boards for their riding styles.

Guys I've seen a few comments here about how the Hadean is more powerful, more torque, etc... trust me it's all about how the ESC has been programmed. We've seen the out of the box proof in this video - Thanks btw!!. BUT the Zeus could easily be programmed to duplicate the same performance with an aftermarket VESC. The Zeus has more power available with a bigger battery and motors. For an $1100 difference in price it's your call after the Zeus warranty is over, and you want more, just buy a controller you can DIY program. My buddy bought an Eovan GTR, and had issues with 2 of their ESC's - kept giving him issues with his motors, so he bought a Lacroix Stormcore VESC, and the torque difference was so insane it was scary. I would put money against it that his Eovan could now beat the Hadean - all only because of programming. Of course the manufacturers try to find the best balance between performance and range. Ideally they should let the users be able to adjust for their own riding styles in a easy to use app. Eventually we'll get there. Overall I love the style and spizzaz that Evolve adds to their boards, but they need to drop about $500 off the price. For the price difference as it is, I'd choose the Zeus and mod it down the road. Torque is way more fun for me!
100% facts about the power/esc …. 100% facts about a vesc and it going inside a zeus.. BUT the zeus doesnt have vesc… so that defeats the purpose of the video if i did that.. just like most youtubers like dkwan, scott davies, andrew penman, drumar, and dozens of others… this is reviews of how they are from the manufacturer aka out of the box. NOT tweaking and changing the esc.. i totally respect the knowledge and skillset of diy, but not everyone is into doing that. most ppl that look up these videos, want to BUY and RIDE. and now they have a channel to compare how they are out of the box. i respectfully disagree about the price, BUT i agree the carbon hadean is overpriced. but so are many other boards like the metroboardx. thank you for ur knowledge and input 👏🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
@ViKing @@esk8unity The whole point of this and many other TH-cam reviewers making these videos is for the person who is either into ESK8 or trying to get into ESK8 that want to know what board to purchase. You can mod almost anything to make it better, but not everyone wants to do that. That's what the DIY community is for. ESK8UNITY doesn't seem like a DIY type, he seems to enjoy purchasing a product and taking it out of the box, charging it, and going for a ride and enjoying it. I am the same way... Not to say down the line I won't be into the DIY scene, but for now, being brand new to ESK8, I want to just purchase a board and enjoy it. I believe the Hadean is overpriced as well btw, but that doesn't take away it's advantages as there are other boards and products on the market that are overpriced and people still buy them. There's a reason for that...

I was really into the Ownboard Zeus, but you made great points about the Hadean. I love the remote as I'm a geek, and although I'm brand new to ESK8, I still love going super fast in small bursts on my electric scooter (think 0-20mph and then coast, then rolling at 15mph-30mph). Torque > Top Speed for me all day. I am a heavier rider though, so I need stability and I've heard horrific things about DKP Trucks at higher speeds. Maybe I might have to consider the Hadean after all, cause I doubt I'd ever actually max it out... Just pull and coast...

I'm 200lbs and hit 64km/h on there Zeus going under an overpass. It pulls hard and pulls all the way up through the powerband. I know the Evolve has faster acceleration and Esk8unity is the only one that has ridden them both equally. I assume he would be able to ride the Zeus faster than his pal because my Zeus in Turbo accelerate pretty damn fast. It kicks harder the faster it goes. Can't loose with either of those but they are very different rides technically.
@@robinhillierelectricrealto4409 Agreed. Totally forgot about Turbo on the Zeus, plus they excel in different areas. Still appreciate the comparison though. Hadean might be worth it, but it's still super pricey though... Don't think there's anyway around that.
@@iAmMrHD hey guys thank u for the replies and inputs!! my buddy is a skilled rider for sure; but hes not too much into high speeds, especially on dkp.. so i stayed on the hadean. i do have one video i can send on instagram of me being beat on the zeus.. dkp definitely requires more practice at higher speeds but its doable.🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼 and yes the zeus was in Turbo mode 🔥

So for safety you teach us how to run red lights? They have meaning regardless of what you ride and in my country it is equally illegal to run a red light in crossing regardless if you are on a bike or skateboard.

not even close.. the polish is way better on the hadean.. the hadean also has more than 24 more features /innovation/technology than the hurricane. the hurricane rear trucks are snapping on riders as well and failing batteries.. also, the hurricane is a VERY , thick, heavy carbon fiber board… hadean is the first 2 in 1 flex deck with this much power and a 12s… now everyone is gunna start copying that too.

To be fair, you used worse wheels on the zeuss while racing, and also the Zeus has a much greater top speed, the the hadean could never reach because of its dkp
i do 40mph on dkp.. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!… yes the zeus has higher top speed but takes a VERY long time to get there.. i also tested it with there 97mm and still couldnt keep up with the hadean
But the Zeus has way more range...that's important
thats my main focus for this channel.. is for buyers /riders to determine what they value in a board. i try to help with that as much as I can…

Meepo hurricane have been receiving alot of complaints..different issues with the wheels.
thanks bud!! me personally, i choose the bamboo hadean… evolve reaaalllyy did a great job with good everything here. what I mean is, good power without sacrificing range.. meepo runs out of power before hadean… yet the hadean is still a BIT more powerful off the line. but meepo def gets up to speed better.. evolve does have very good cells too.. I cant say but the results prove it.. the biggest plus is the flex deck. thats my personal preference and what I value most.. a group ride or even a fun cruise with my friend, a flex bamboo deck with a powerful 12s setup is key for me. carving rebound is amazing..dancing and slides, the bamboo works with me during the momentum. (i think i explain it in one if my later videos)… also, the innovation is insane.. remote, features, lights, on board diagnostics, cell diagnostics, screen, trip, odometer, wheel choices, modes, the app. evolve also has insane amount of accessories AVAILABLE in the USA. if i need tubes, tires, different color 97mm wheels, blue caguamas, great bearings, underlights, bashguards, colored wheel hubs, different size pullies , its a click away and available in the Usa.. no bs china ordering and only 1 or 2 options and not have to wait 3 weeks or more… all of this i VALUE. its a very big purchase. so i look at more then jus the spec sheet and the price… i hope others start doing that too
@@torion29able i also had a update from evolve.. so they sent me a return label and fed ex came to my house and took the board.. 5 days later, its back at my house (because my board was the first batch).. meepo, i been waitin almost a month for a simple charging port . the board wont turn on… thats why there hasnt been any meepo videos… paying more for a board, with all these postive outcomes is worth the more $$$

What's wrong with you? You shouldn't be promoting running red lights, in some countries eskate is illegal, this just makes us all look bad and will hinder legalisation.
its very well known in every big city. dc, chicago, nyc, jersey city and many others..cops prefer pev in the streets more than cars. too congested.. bike lanes are even more congested and has tons of careless pedestrians… different countries/cities have different ways..
@hamish @@esk8unity In NYC we have delayed greens so running a red isn't the worst because everything takes a second (including the perpendicular crosswalk light). Same with yielding to "all way stop signs" instead of stopping all the way (unless there is a car that definitely is about to go.

What a big deception the Zeus was. I know the different wheels but it has 44t so I don't see the zeus winning in any configuration.
Also the Meepo Hurricane will beat the zeus for sure, more like the headen.

Not necessarily. With the same rider and same wheels it would absolutly be closer. The Evolve is known to have great pick up but at the same time can't touch the Zeus's top speed by quick a bit. The bottom line is that both of these have similar electronics, the Zeus actually has a bigger batter and Motors and the capacity to be programmed with a VESC to win. Evolve won't disclose what batteries they use. Carbon Zeus vs Carbon Hadean in my opinion is not worth double the price. You are paying for their marketing, lawyers and warranty which I've read is hit or miss.

the zeus, even with its stock 44t pullies, it still wont beat it off the line.. in fact, it’ll take away more top speed rather then gain more acceleration.. the zeus is geared for top speed, stability and range.. not power.. the evolve has always been known for its power. and now, it reach up to 29-31mph.. to me, its a perfect medium of
power and top speed. i rarely hit 35-37
mph on my zeus.. and if it put evolve 32t on the zeus, it would never catch up
to the evolve.. so, to conclude: the way the manufacturers put out the boards, thats the way to put them head to head. not changing wheels and gears.. i will do the 97mm wheel comparison just to satisfy my subscribers curiosity though 🤙🏼👌🏼
@@esk8unity I totally agree with those sentiments. I'm just referring to the internals and actual parts on each of them. Evolve has finer details down to packaging and branding for sure. Upgraded remote and such. The heart of the boards being the battery and ESC/VESC will drastically change a board. One is designed for "surfing" and pick up, the other is for stable top speed. That being said I honestly can't see me needing more pick up than the Zeus currently and I do ride fast and hard. I wonder which on you will end up riding more in the long term. Considering the Hadean is technically your preferred style. Keep me coming. Appreciate the content.
