    Details about the video:
This video will be wrapping up the MTCRE OSPF concepts where we will be implementing a Virtual-Link via a transit area for an area that is not directly connected to the backbone. We will also be going over authentication and how to implement this on an OSPF interface. Then we will be looking at route filters and OSPF troubleshooting to end of the video. Enjoy!

Thank you so much for the detailed mikrotik content you are putting out and how detailed you are.
Any network enthusiast would be able to follow your tutorial even if they are not versed mikrotik.

Thanks for the advice and movies. Great to look at when trying to learn mikrotik. Btw. have you ever seen that routing out from ospf onto default static route does not work?
    Other way around works fine

I would like to see a combination of BGP and OSPF setup on large ISP, 200 towers and up as a best practice do's and don'ts

Hi, thank you for your great job! I have a port opened on my router (1723 PPTP yes i know this service is vulnerable and it`s not recommended, soon i will stop using it.), and the log is flooded with login trials from different ip-s. How is possible to drop connections after e.g. 3 failed attempt (like Fail2Ban on linux)? For now i use filter rule to drop any connections for this port from any ip outside of a specific ip range. I saw a solution with filter rules and different address lists (different stages) but here the problem is it would put in the address list any new connection(not just the failed attempt). Phew, i hope it`s understandable :) So i would like to see more things about securing our router ;)

here's a question... is there any reason not to just add the rouoter of area 4 to area 1? If everything is in the same VRF, then the routes on area 4 router would still have to be unique.

That is correct, if at all possible adding routers within the same area that is already connected to the backbone would be preferred. The demonstration of Area4 is more or less a "What if" scenario. Where you might encounter the need for a V-LINK because there is no way to physically connect back into the backbone and adding the router to Area1 might not be an immediate option. To be honest I've never run into a situation like this before, not sure if I am lucky or if events like that doesn't often happen. Probably happens more often in large networks.

Can the router id on OSPF and BGP instances be the same?
