It's good seeing all these ceefax uploads as there is an archive of many days of BBC News, Sport and Weather on Ceefax from over the years of Pages From Ceefax broadcasts.
It was common in the old days leading into the test card as they were closing down. Daytime Closedown did not mean everybody switched off or changed channeld.
@@wesleycracknell1623 In the early hours of 23th October & 13th November 1995, the Optics ident was used into Ceefax (Learning Zone slide was used on 23rd October before the Optics ident). The clock was also used in the early hours of 6th November 1995, but no ident.
This one replaces the in excess of 1 hour one on the special Slide Rule playlist. Great to hear the 3 tracks from the Colours at the end retained for the Slide Rule tape, so they received 11 years continuous airing.
This was also at the time that Ceefax was not in its usual black background as it had been before this and returned at a later date-though I am not sure when that was though. Odd really?!
This was the BBC promoting Level 2 Teletext. However very few TV manufacturers ever included decoders for it, so it was quietly dropped later in the 1990s.

Slide Rule has finished in February 2001 on the same month the tape Supreme Comfort tape started in February 2001 in between gap for 15 months break was not played between August 2002 and November 2003 and return later in November 2003 and renamed Chillin Out later in December 2009 and withdrawn in February 2011 later new Ceefax Compliation Sunlips which started on 28th February 2011 till the end of Ceefax transmissions in October 2012.

The older I get the more I appreciate this sort of thing, thank you Jez.

Thank you!
A very rare appearance of a BBC2 clock leading into CEEFAX pages without a CEEFAX slide before or after the broadcast.
i agree

A Ceefax transmission in my stories would substitute Page 100 and then go into the Newsreel cycle sequence.

Do you remember the Firecracker ident being used after the clock when BBC2 closed down from 1994-1999?

Great video, love it
Sounds a bit like the "Test Card" music from the young ones when the telly won't work - so Vyvian eats it to escape Mr Bastard the tv license goon :D
Interesting glitch at 5:10 where a different Level 1 page appears but the Level 2 enhancements from the same weather picture page remain.
ABSOLUTE BANGER.
Lucy Bolger is the BBC2 late shift announcer, and Michaela Saunders is the BBC2 Learning Zone announcer.

Does anyone have the full track listing and (ideally) a link to the MP3s of Slide Rule please? Need this on my chillout playlist badly!
