This dude is such a stud. Remember him cooking at Santa Clara. Happy to see the success.
BBQ or was he cooking ramen ?
@@Alberthoward3right9uppasta and snake soup
I heard it was zebra stir-fry
Success? Lmao
@@brianbadonde9251 how many games did you play in the NBA?
shai seems like he super chill, he plays like he not even trying
love this kid, gonna have a long prosperous career
This gave me similar vibes to the Cam Johnson interview. They're both mature beyond their years, have easily translatable/underrated skill sets, are very articulate and driven towards success & both truly love playing basketball. Great stuff as per usual JJ, you're a terrific interviewer!
Cam is 27 he’s not a young nba player😂😂yes he’s smart but come on now
it seems people always talk about Cam Johnson as younger then he actually is that dude is almost 30
@@freewunna2069it’s wild people think cam Johnson is a young up and coming player when he’s 27 and say Brandon Ingram is pushing 30 when he’s only 25😂
@@Trafalgar-D-Water-Law23he’s only 25 ? IQ IS ALREADY 22
As someone who grew up in Okc and joined the Marine Corps at the age of 21 mainly to get out of here and see the world, I can attest to there not being much to do around here. I do enjoy living here though, and Okc is more lively with Thunder being good. I love it!
Depends where you lived
Thank you for your services
Ehh not all of these dudes grew up in major cities, they act like there all from major cities, it comes off as snobby, these dues are millionaires looking down on small cities, it’s millionaires who live in the middle of nowhere and our good with that, we have equated making money to having to be outside everyday blowing your money,. It’s thing to do in okc maybe not for a young millionaire but cmon these dudes don’t live a regular life like the rest of us
If they don't start winning soon the team will be out soon, it'll move
@@bmillersince92These players are young millionaires for the most part. Just because they come from small cities doesn’t mean that they want to continue that.
SGA is the truth! Unstoppable and reliable.
i really hope so i dont want the thunder to become like the grizz or previous jazz where they are gonna be a top 3 seed every year and do nothing in the playoffs against a 6 or 7 seed team 🙏🙏🙏
@@sevenster-bg1mj playoffs are way different than the regular season, it dont matter who's what seed
He been ballin.
@@Book.of.Treason3-0 in the first round
Shai has that MVP mentality. He’s improved every year going back to being on the bench in high school.
I don't watch much live basketball, but this channel keeps me interested. JJ deserves a million subscribers and more.
I played against SGA in highschool. He was elite already but he took his game to the next level when he left McNab and went to the States...
Haha H town boy 💪🏾

Same thing with Steve Nash. My brother played against him in high school and while he was good, the second he went D1 and played against better players and WITH better players, his PG game truly came alive. My brother says it's as if he overnight became 10x better.
Awesome!
I met shai in 2018 he was cool asf he asked me for a pic because I had a clips shai jersey on as a Kentucky its great to see him do great future MVP
Love the game, and I gotta say I'm the most excited for OKC in the next 3 years. Shai,Chet,Giddey and Williams remind me of the young Warriors before championships, just seeing the talent there and how its developing.
Giving me major Tyrese Maxey vibes and I love that. Love seeing basketball guys straight up love the game and love the guys they're with
SGA aura on and off the court is just different 🔥
Great job JJ , you are one of the very few media folks I can watch nowadays.. The Network stuff is pretty much unwatchable anymore
3:24 Bro was stunned about the concept of dog day 💀💀
So the kid is wise which makes sense, because it really takes a great mentality to be good in the NBA today. Every kid that comes out is an athletic freak with great technical skill, but it’s the mental aspect which separates the guys who are going to have long, successful careers. This kid clearly has great mentality for a professional at his age and it really makes sense, why despite not being a top lottery, pick he contributed straight away.
aged well
Living in Austin with all my fam in OKC - always have a great time when I visit. There’s really quite a lot to do and plenty of growth. Good people. Hoping it stays slept on for a couple more year so I can buy a house before people realize
You're exactly right. I'm in the transportation business and people from this nuthouse city I live in, Los Angeles are starting to find out about OKC and Tulsa. Wish they'd just stay away as our two largest Oklahoma cities are fine just progressing as they are by Oklahomans. I lived in Austin in the '80s and, despite UT, was one of the coolest cities, so chill and fun. Go look at it now. Cali's made it expensive and brought their politics with them.
Very underrated player. He’ll be a championship piece in the future 💯
Jalen williams so cool and intelligent
This is why this team has gotten so much better. Theyre super young but got level headed players.
Great interview. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Keep up the great work!
jalen williams 100% took some things from Shai already lol. u can see it in his game. which means Jalen is capable of grasping to a point he might be a hidden gem/superstar himself. great player.
Incredible, talented young star in the making. Very intelligent and mature as well, hope he keeps on succeeding for years to come! 🔥🔥👊🏾
Good watch. Young man has a good head on his shoulders, wish him the best.
Love his attitude, cherish every moment
the best pod in the game
Wow jj is getting to 1M subscribers. Really nice
Watched him since he was at UK. Love the kid
I love what I hear from the young guys today. They’re all about winning and maxing out their potential. Another theme is a lot of them are men of faith. It doesn’t seem like they’re gonna be like the previous era (teaming up instead of competing, team-hopping, trying to be celebs, status obsessed, etc.). The NBA is back and will be great for years to come.
I can't stop looking at the picture of Brad Pitt behind JJ.
Lol it is random
As an OKC resident it’s awesome to see them having assembled an amazing squad. I thought after the Durant/Westbrook/Harden days that it would be a long time until OKC could put an elite team together. Presti is a magician
Man i love our organization. We've been through a lot over the last few years and its nice to see the plan come to fortition!!! Love J DUB and the entire team!!!!!!
sound capture is really bad here, it feels like the whole episode was recorded through a zoom meeting
JJ is great at his job
Jesus, JJ talks more than he lets his guests talk. Never seen a dude so in love with his own voice.
Old soul. Loved this interview
Man I’m exited for next couple years. I know it sucks bc it’s boring here but we’re building stuff. So I hope that helps them. But man I’m ready for this team. Already doing good. Exited for it to get crazyyy
Hey Jj, i can kind of hear ur voice echoing in the room, I’m not sure if you’ve noticed that or not but it definitely would sound a lot better without it
Those Dutch angles, cinema verité and other creative shots - someone went to film school!
He sounds like an old soul indeed!
Yea his favorite artist to listen to is Michael Jackson
2:26 - "There's a lot to do" in OKC? I mean... alright.
Also, weird dutch angle for the camera shot right there.
I love being a okc fan through the highes and lows
Imagine getting interviewed as a young nba player and they title the interview "Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: The Most Mysterious Superstar In The NBA" yeah he asked about SGA but the interview was alot about the kid too.
He is an old soul
Great personality I wish you all the best!
Where’s the full podcast
2:29 this type of shot always makes people look unhinged to me 😂
why is the sound off, or is it just me?
what's up with the Friday the 13th pov and the spooky dutch angles? was this supposed to be a halloween episode?
Future mvp 💪 🇨🇦
“My parents” is crazy! 😂
I went to grade school with this dude in Clarkson….what a trip now seein the stats he’s puttin up and hearin the well deserved talk about his game
Is there a sga episode yet?
jdub has no haters fr
Yes and OKC is proud of all its Blue and Thunder players. Woof Woof woof woof
He is also canadian! that's great!
I know it's boring here but I like to think it helps make basketball players better.
I like the mindset of it being easier to stay out of trouble, and focus on playing your best. Wish my city wasn't known for being so lame but it is what it is.
Lol no forreal it does suck the player who play here don’t enjoy the city that supports them. I’ve never heard Westbrook the thunder legend bad mouth okc
I’m a Jalen Williams fan now.
After watching SGA during his rookie year with the Clips, I knew he was gonna be a really good player, but I totally never saw him being this dude who looks like he might be the heir to MJ & Kobe. lol You can call me crazy with that statement, but dude makes 30 points look so effortless, and I think it's nice that in the era of the 3-ball, he still prefers to cook in the midrange area.
Meh he reminds me more of derozan than an actual superstar.
Born and raised in OKC, left right out of high school. It's not a very friendly town for young people.
He is very well spoken/intelligent
He does say "like" a LOT tho lol
@@mothamaster3000lol that’s just how every young person who grew up on the west coast is like
OKC is a good city to be a young baller. You learn to stay focused and you learn that you that you it doesn’t take all the other BS to be happy.
SGA is the man!!!!!!!
He was in the national Canadian news today smh.
JDubb is the TRUTH. He's gonna be something special, just y'all watch
Shai singlehanded made me not miss a single team canada game this summer. I can wait till paris us Canadians are getting a medal.
Top 3 player on the Thunder for sure. Skies the limit for J Dub "W" for sure.
OKC is the perfect city for ages 25+, it's got its spots but it's not LA and that's how they want it. Midwest in general, live a chill life and fly somewhere for some fun when you need it. Jdub is an old soul for sure, Thunder up!
haha, love it. kid is definitely an 'old soul'. if you're young, honestly, that's one of the highest compliments you can get. it means you're wise. if you don't get it, you will down the road.
Is this new camera angle that necessary lol
Love to watch this team
Love to see my articulate young black men everybody ain’t no rapper or killer or just a hooper stop the stereotypes man seem like he can do much beyond run and jump much respect to him and his fam
his game is slower, but otherwise pretty much iverson game there. the jumpshot, release, drive layups, step back, fade away to the left, low dribbling etc...taller and slower Iverson?
Can’t believe he is just 6’5 210.
Coz he looks bigger when on the court especially this season.
He looks like he is 6’7 230 and strong too
People say Kobe didn't have any elite physical characteristics. He had the same standing reach as Jalen Williams with a slightly less wingspan. High set shoulders help alot
1 word SMOOTH
Shaivonte!
Not gonna lie the dog days stuff surprised me. Glad they enjoying their lives and time in the NBA to the fullest while they are young.
So can we get an answer about Shai? I feel like he doesnt even know him based off how much he talked about himself when asked about Shai...
Why is there a picture of brad pitt behind jj?
Who said SGA is mysterious?
JJ
He’s just introverted
He just seems that way for people that are not from OKC. You don’t really hear from him, I don’t think I’ve even heard his voice too many times either now that I think about it 😂
#2 is that guy!!!!!!!
Love you Jj
Knew he was gonna be special when he was ona clips
Exactly 💯💯💯💯
Talented and superstar are light years apart. No disrespect he’s not a superstar. That doesn’t mean he isn’t talented. Superstar is about having the IT factor. Conversation follows you.
People that make 1st team All NBA aren’t superstars? Please stop.
I have to disagree with you, Shai most certainly has the It factor. Both on and off the court. His on court It factor is self explanatory however the It factor he brings can plainly be seen in his creatively expressive fashion decisions and his intriguing personality. Shai not only has It, he’s also Him!
Good observation..
A superstar is somebody that goes above the sport or genre.
Someone that transcends their field.
Like Nas a rap star but PAC a superstar..
Shai looks like he could play a live action version of Dimitri Lousteau from Sly Cooper 🗿
He get buckets
All I know is he took the time to take a picture with my cousin who has Downs Syndrome and is a huge Thunder fan
OKC STAND UP!
Jalen William gotta be Naomi Osaka brother 😂
LMAO 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I don’t think he’s a superstar but that nigga elite…
Mfs wanna be the superstar, mfs wanna be Kobe, MJ, Steph, A.I.,2Pac, don’t nobody want his 💧 ..
People don’t understand Oklahoma and sports. Per capita, it might be the most locked in sports state in the country. I know 80 year old women in Church that keep up with the Thunder and know the players for OU. It’s very community oriented and winning is serious business. Sports are THE thing to do and not just another thing to do. Not everyone is about that.
You just described every southern state and even a lot of certain parts of northern and western states…lol Oklahoma isn’t special in anyway (aside from their terrible public schools and local governments) and that includes sports.
@@YouReallyDontKnow- So you’ve been to all those states huh?
Only casual viewers think SGA isn’t a superstar. He’s a top 10 guy and still getting better.
jesus christ the glazing is crazy
Why does he drag these videos out past topic
The reason why he SGA doesn’t do interviews is because of reporters like him
It’s bc he’s practicing somewhere
Superstar? Whoa slow ur roll lmaoo
The nba media make sure you know when someone is in trouble or doing bad. Have good relationships and morals? off the radar 😂
If you make 1st team All NBA, you’re a superstar
Facts. Plus he’s improved every year. I truly think he has mvp potential
Wrong
OKC is going to be a problem in another year
Kentucky fan here, anyway I could get Christian Laetner's number? Got a couple things to run by him
