During my running days, the boardwalk provided a smooth location when weather was rain stormy or snowy. One of two great cities in Nassau County, Long Island.
I lived on L.I. but my South Shore visits were to Jones Beach and Gilgo back in the day. Long Beach was the original home of Don Vito Corleone in the Godfather. There is also a movie called City By the Sea with Robert De Niro; a half assed story about a cop who was involved in the Weinberger case in the 1950s. He adopted the son of the murderer. The movie was actually filmed in Asbury Park, NJ. It's worth a watch but don't believe the supposed historical facts.
City By The Sea was made about me. No cop adopted my father after the kidnapping case; in the movie they had me kill two people, it was one, and it was not planned. In the movie a cop was killed. In my case a cop was not even injured. In the movie they give me a son, in reality I have no children. In the movie they made my father a hero. In real life my father was a dead beat dad who never showed up or helped me in anyway whatsoever since birth. In the movie they made my girlfriend to be an addict, in real life she is a podiatrist. In the movie they made me look like a junkie, in real life I have always been in shape and don't even know what that drug was he was using. They never even met or spoke to me before making that movie
If I were to ever do the New York metro, this place would be up there on my list, however the lack of Black folks there is a huge drawback for me. At least it's pretty liberal there despite that fact, and not a "New England" type of liberalness (from what I can tell).

Long Beach welcomes everyone, and there and plenty of black folks here in the city. Everyone is loved here. I can tell you firsthand that if a black person were to get harassed in this town for being black, there would be 100 white people to come to their defense in seconds! We don't play that here.
Ilike the vlog and I see my house in the background! :)
Lol, thats cool!

Great video! I was thinking of doing a day trip from Brooklyn, I wasn't sure if the area was walkable or not. This helped a lot. Thanks!

I just took a visit to Jones beach Boardwalk too. I have watched that movie before I think. But it's been so long, I might have to give it a re-watch.
