I regularly use a HK416N (Norwegian HK416 version in 5.56, but it eats all .223 just as nicely) and the failure points that I know/have experienced are : bent magazine lips; metal magazine lips that are deformed from use ( dropped to much or similar, be aware that the magazines in circulation are _very_ much abused, not experienced with personal magazine loadout and not had any of those with the plastic/polymer magazines) Primer strikes problems ( some lots of old ammunition when the gun was new and ammo was being developed, not had any of those the last 5 years ) Overall one of the most stable platforms I have ever operated, from -40 Celsius to plus 55 Celsius ( personal experience ) The biggest problem we have is Aimpoint operator error and user error. Another reason that is probably overlocked may be that all the ,,available’’ mlok stuff from the US isn’t so much available here in Europe. Why: ITAR even regulates small mlok attachment or like a surefire scout light pro. Even though most of the more modern gun stores here have figured out how to get all the cool US stuff, there still are stores that cant figure out ITAR and getting some attachments from HK in Germany is way easier then importing American stuff.
