Flat bases make the infantry look better in relation to the vehicles. Two stores in the area carry Bolt Action, about an hour or so drive, but close enough for a pilgrimage.

A WW2 skirmish game?! I'll be watching out for that. I'm hoping to get some Bolt Action models painted over Xmas.

I've got some awesome SAS minis ready for it from Perry, 0200 Hours, and Bolt Action. Have fun painting up your models!

Hi. I'm newbie at bolt action. I buy this pack and i think a need to add some vehicles to this army. What do you recommend to use?

This or the British Airborne can be picked up for close to £50 online, and are apparently some of the best value box sets for getting your foot in the door with Bolt Action. Both provide a 1,000 point table top army, which is mind blowing if you're used to GW prices, and both can be turned into decent 1,500 point armies with maybe an extra £40 on top*. Again, it's kind of shocking how cheap things can be once you step outside the GW treadmill. The best thing is that Bolt Action has a fairly decent following, so actually landing games isn't too difficult.
*_I may have been doing Christimas research into games systems which one suck up the £££ to get into._

That's so true, once you get away from GW there's a huge world of modelling out there! I'm so happy I got into Bolt action, it's been awesome fun and reminded me why I started in the hobby.

And a question... Can you adequately represent the general superiority of German armor by running them as veterans and Soviets as inexperienced? One of the gripes commonly heard is that the game is almost too well balanced to be anything like historically accurate.

      I haven't got that far yet 🤣

Short answer is yes, but also German armor wasn’t actually superior to the allied or soviet stuff. Good news is that the game is flexible enough for you to play it pretty much any way you want. You can play it with historical accuracy in mind or go full blown Hollywood action movie. It’s a great game system and is loads of fun!

Did anyone else note that the machine gun No 2 feeding the belt of ammunition was in the Mortar pack. Me thinks when you check stuff out prior to your vid you should open and repack each unit before opening the next.

@Firedrake-f4g it isn't. I've bought quite a bit of Warlord stuff over the years and their stuff is some of the best around. I did a whole load of their 8th army and DAK stuff this year and they went together easily and look fantastic on the table. I did the epic stuff last year and I thought the (13.5mm) 15mm stuff was really good too.

Immediately lost all interest as soon as you said "loads of metal miniatures". :(
Cmon Warlord Games! It's almost 2024!

Was going to buy this, until i heard ‘metal’.

@@AD-qd7ps Dude, check out the vid again. In this one the only gluing are the heavy weapons themselves and that is two pieces together. I have the standard infantry box and it is really not the hassle you can have when they are multiple kit parts. I also note that the figures have a bit of that flash that hangs off the models but that is easy to trim off and there are very few mould lines to deal with. I would imagine the same applies to your kit. Pretty much all such weapons are metal in the Warlord Kits for Bolt Action, don't let it put you off.

Nothing wrong with a few metals. They tend to add the character into my larger armies.
