And he's loving every minute of getting to fight Peter without any restraint or morals holding him back, even if doing so risks his safety. I don’t doubt that if Peter successfully impaled him, he would’ve let Norman back in the driver's seat to endure the agony just to break Peter’s sanity that much more, that or just remind Peter that it’s his selfishness that brought Norman there in the first place. All in all, Goblin (especially this Goblin) is a fitting foil for Peter, whose character centers around responsibility and not letting his power or struggles corrupt him since Norman’s character centers on him being literally held prisoner inside his own body by his power…by someone who values power over any kind of honor, morality or restraint and ends up getting them both killed because of it.
