I did a decals 2.0 video, as well that talks a bit more about getting decals flat on figures. I have access to 3xr studios library, and print some of my own decals. I know there’s people who make their own, but as far as I know curbstomp is the only option who just had a website and is easily accessible to order decals.
I am just getting into making and using decals. Question, what is the purpose for the layering in this video? Wouldn't it be easier to make the logo include both? As in this would be one decal? Much appreciated......dude lol.
I’ll try and not complicate this answer lol. To print with clear paper, you need to use white toner. Colors will not show well at all if you don’t use the white underneath or paint white under it. The ghost white decals make it so that you don’t need to blend the decal in afterward. If you used colored paper, you would have the white border, but would need to paint the decals edges to blend in with the design of the shirt.
@ I’m glad I can be some help! Haha. There’s definitely a learning curve, but practicing and just figuring out what works for you is the best way to get around it. 🫡
hey, coming back to you for some help My waterslide decals get completely stuck after I place them, Im not able to adjust them to the perfect spot. This happened to me on a standard elite crotch I applied paint, sprayed krylon matte sealer and then put the micro set. The first spot I put the decal on it stays glued there, and I keep messing up my decals, when I try so slide them they get distorted or stretched. Didnt have this problem when I was using mod podge, I just couldnt stand the brush strokes so I switched to spray sealer. So I think the problem is the sealer? Just want some advice, the paint job is wayyyy cleaner with the spray sealer but applying the decals is a way bigger challenge now.
@@dannyhefner don’t apply the mod podge or sealer till after you do the decals! Sorry about that. Just get the figure clean, place the decals with the set/sol. Apply the mod podge and sealer after the decals have dried a bit.
@@thefiguredude thats what I was going to do from the jump since it made sense to seal the final product once all together. the only problem is when I put the micro set on the unsealed painted parts I saw some of the blue paint on my brush and didnt want to mess up the paint job. what’s your take on that ? I appreciate your help 🙏🏼I will give that a shot again on my next one. Im going to have to remake my custom, that little misalignment really bothers me haha.
Looks outstanding!
Thank you!
these are helpful. I want to do some RVDS but I've been imtimdated with but being able to lay it flat. BTW are there alternatives to curbstomp?

do you also thin your mod podge when applying it over painted plastic parts ?
Not really. I just don’t use very much. Just a light layer of mod podge before spray sealer
