This week on branching out permaculture with Curtis Hanlon. Im showing how I air layer a cherry tree using air layering balls and sphagnum peat moss. EP 174.
Always good to experiment 👍👍. For those who don't have rooting hormone powder, a crushed up regular aspirin can suffice. There are several techniques for air and tip layering to experiment with. You might want to keep a keen eye out for insects... Insects tend to attack the weakest leaves/branches first, and there will be leaf loss and some atrophy as the new roots take hold... Also, if fruit tries to grow on the new plant, remove it asap... Will be awaiting the update in Sept... Much love 💕
