i was at dupo in 1981. we waited for a south bound south of town. from a distance we heard it blow,,,, the SD40 had a blad horn. when it got close we could see that big beautiful horn. in 1983 we chased the mp from ill, to kansas. seeing mp before its demise.
Very cool! I bought your Illinois Central Gulf DVD and am enjoying watching it with my two sons. I'm looking for any info related to the Delta Division (Northwest Mississippi) of IC/ICG from the last few years of the steam era through the mid-1980s when they closed the line through Clarksdale, MS. My Great Uncle worked for them for 40+ years, but passed away a few years ago and I don't have any source for info.
I model the mopac railroad on my layout I have nine mopac locomotives and freight cars plus caboose as long you all model mopac the railroad will never die

The MP sd40-2's did not have dynqmics... correct. Except for the 6000 series that had em
Does it contain any MP/UP action on the DeSoto Sub (ex Iron Mountain route)?
This looks like a copy of Clear Block’s “Vignettes of the Missouri Pacific” in several places.
It isn't. All original video by videographer George Redmond.

These type videos make me hate the UP. The Class I version of G&W.
Armour yellow got so dang boring after it being the only paint scheme around anymore
Jenks blue was much,much better.
That wasnt rare. WP GP40/40-2's were everywhere on ex MoP branchlines in Ks.
They were rare in southern Illinois where this was shot.
The grim reaper of omaha.. you can't spell stupid without UP
