    Will be interesting to follow the refurbishment. Looks to be a sound, comfortable, and well thought layout. Like re landscaping a overgrown garden you are pulling all the weeds and replanting. Wiring and plumbing will be challenging but satisfying when finished.

    Mate, is that the Chris White Hammerhead named "Avalanche"? It has been 3-4 years ago when it was for sale down in San Diego/or L.A. area. The skiiper who owned it and I had 3-4 decent conversations about the sale of this wonderful tri. He was blowing this boat out for around 225K. And incredibly low price for one of the best trimarans on the planet. I had the money for straight cash. The reason I backed off? When he told me he spent 80K for a bullet proof main sail from North Sales. Made in England to specific requirements for a very knowledgeable sailor. My wife would cut my cajones off if I had bought that. He said Avalanche's sails were getting pretty much past their prime. What a boat.....I wish you only the best. I'm sure she is still a rocket even with simple dacron. Fabulous live aboard. He bought a HH out of Asia.

      Haha cool story luckily a new set of sails is half that amount 🤙

    LOOKS AWESOME. After all the really cool changes you made to the Old Spirit I'm interested in what you'll do to the Hammer Head. No doubt she'll be lighter and sail better than she has ever before.

    • @TrimaranSpirit

      Thanks 🙏 that’s definitely the plan. Simpler faster and lighter. Less noise more signal 🤙

    I am so pleased (and a little envious) at what you're doing-- she is a magnificent boat-- I am shocked at how neglected she is after I saw her in 2020. Have you seen the interviews done with the previous skipper on Drake Paragon? I looked at trying to buy her this time around but had a feeling there was a HUGE amount of work to be done and I just don't have the time (I'm also Sydney based). I really look forward to seeing what you do with her! Phil

    • @TrimaranSpirit

      Nice she’s definitely well known in the trimaran world. We have seen those interviews they were a great series. You’re correct she’s in need a huge amount of work. Plan is to take it slow and get the necessary bits done as we can 👍

    it is amazing how people get more stuff - I used to go through mine every 6 months - I got shipwright to add 2 hatch's at aft end of cockpit seat's so could climb in there as no access via cabin

    She really needs loving care and restoration to her full potential.
    She sure needs a heap of work but I'm sure it will be worth it.

    When you’re out clubbing just say you have a HH54…all the wrong people will be impressed😂

  • @nelsonholditch6633

    If I remember correctly Greg Foss owns a 54 Hammer head. On a passage from the east coast of United States to Iceland he averaged 15 knots. Pretty impressive for a cruising boat. Would love to know what material the new Spirit is constructed from.

    • @TrimaranSpirit

      Sure she’s strip plank cedar mainhull, epoxy and e-glass with balsa core decks and amas and carbon akas. A real mix 😁

  • @pakkelly

    Thank you for the stem to stern tour. It looks like excellent ventilation. Just for fun you should measure how high she rises at the waterline once you off load all that “Just crap…!”
    Multiple watertight bulkheads in the amas sounds like a good safety feature. Do you have any specs on the ama to main hull length and buoyancy ratios?
    That is one lucky boat to get a full restomod.

    • @TrimaranSpirit

      Hi unfortunately we don’t have too many specs on her yet but hoping that will grow over time. So far waterline is up three inches 👍

    • @MinosVadis

      Chris White is still around and would probably be happy to catch up with you and discuss the specs etc. He seems to know all of his boats intimately and he's a friendly and helpful guy IMO
