Wow what a busy video Josh which makes it even better for us. I was always lucky that I never had any real bad interactions with cows, but had a couple of bad ones with bulls, but regardless of sex, I never every trusted any of them fully. Loved the sound of the old MF250 putt putting away as its scraping, brings back great memories. Thanks
Always have a stick or something with you josh going into the cows with their calves. Some can be very protective. And not to go in when your on your own. Hope the calvings go good for you. 👍
Awesome video Josh what a busy day for you and Jon loads of calves have you many more to calve Sounds like you had a lucky escape with that cow heffers and cows can be more dangerous than a bull the can turn around faster and their more agile than a bull So glad you escaped without getting injured Really enjoyed the video as always looking forward to the next one
Da uncle had a cow calved fine as a heifer calved this year mad as a box of frogs shorthorn x char Her father had a bit of a temper Kept 2 heifers again calving this year my uncle is84yrs so not a great combo
It was a busy one! Yes we do, she’s never been a problem and had a few calves before this one. We would cull anything that might be nasty, but it’s always a bit hasty to deceive that 24 hours after calving. Will see how she goes through the summer !
Great video, I don't know how you all can make any money keeping all your animals under the huge buildings. I would give my eye teeth for those buildings for machinery storage, but we could never afford to build that for cows. Our cows stay outside and calve, even when it is 20 or 30 below zero. Another thing is that during calving season, I am never without a wooden cane and never think twice about giving even the tamest cow a 2 hander across the nose if she looks at me the wrong way when handling newborn calves. My thought is to tune her in before she tunes me,
Get the retaliation in first as some would say! Most of our cows are so quiet you could sit on them, but you’d never try it! We produce data for research purposes here, so not a commercial farm like all others around us. Making money isn’t the priority.
We certainly don't want to see you hurt, but that would have made good content! Lots of people don't realise how dangerous farm animals can be. A horse or cow can hurt or kill you by total accident, much less if they are trying to. Pigs will actually eat you. Farming is vastly rewarding and satisfying, but it can also be very dangerous.

Everyone loves the 250! Our bulls are also very quiet, but would never trust them either! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Great video Josh aye you can’t be to careful with cows that have just had a calf I had a lucky escape myself many’s years ago 💪👌
Ours are all so used to being handled I think we can forget how dangerous they can be at times!
It's that time off year for you farmers, calfing time. Interesting one
Busy Busy!

Always 2 of us around moving cattle, Jon was only 20 feet away, just out of sight. My own silly fault for going in the pen!

One of your best so far, loads going on, brilliant, great editing too. Is the dung from each coloured platform kept seperate from the main pile?
Thanks Dermot! Yes once the animals are in the platform groups all feed and manure is kept separate 👍🏼
Awesome bud cheers 👍🏻
Thank you! 🙏🏻
Great job
You never know how they react till they have a calf
Very true! Had a few stroppy ones this year which is unusual for us!
Very busy video you guys will sleep well after a day like that 🙂
No time for sleeping 😬😅

Gotta think about the content! 😂 yes it is very dangerous to work with the animals if you don’t have your wits about you!
