More than a year ago.... More than a year ago Johnathan Young and Caleb Hyles shook us all to our cores, by recreating- no... Remastering the anthem for a generation full of kids. Once again we were brought back to that parade, and we were once again asked to be the savior of the broken and the damned. As always, whenever I feel like I need to go, or can't handle something, I carry on. This song helps me carry on when I feel like I can't . Thank you both, for reigniting the spark I thought I had lost. Thank you for reminding the world that it can't break me, nor take my heart. If anyone out there is in a place where they feel like they can't make it, or that they're drowning, just know you're not alone. Carry on.
The first time I heard this song was when you covered it 2 years ago. The fact that you now covered it again, together with Jonathan Young, 2 years later is just amazing!

I had to prepare for an entire year.... I was still not prepared for this. The emotion in their faces while they sang this was every bit as beautiful as the song. I'm glad you guys belted that out and put your all into it.
The beginning of this song is my favorite part. (Got me through a lot.) Granted I absolutely love the whole thing. But Caleb what you did with the beginning made me cry happy tears. Love you guys.
As someone who lost his Dad at a young age I don't think think this song is particularly emo, I find it uplifting. It talks about how no one asks for loss but you have to deal with it. "I'm just a boy who had to sing this song."
I’m sorry for your loss. A father’s bond with his son is something immeasurable, but damnit does it make a hell of a man out of you. Hope you’re doing good m8 🍻🤝

First, a cover of Teenagers by MCR on Jonathan’s channel, and now a cover of Welcome To The Black Parade on this channel!! I’ve been waiting for ages for this video to uploaded!! Amazing cover, you definitely did My Chemical Romance justice!! Love the covers, continue being amazing boys!! 💜💜💜
You know a lot of people always say "Oof ouch the edge is sharp!" when listening to this song but this is honestly my favorite cover you guys have done I can't even listen to the original without feeling underwhelmed now. Set a whole new bar you two!
Music can change a person just from the first note. My chemical romance has been a big influence on my life and still is. Hearing the passion in the vocals make me both sad and happy. I miss being young and not having a care in the world. But we carry on and move forward and remember the past fondly. Thank you for covering this song. And thank you for being you.
I just lost my uncle a month back to health issues, and the lines ‘And though you’re dead and gone, your memory will carry on!’ And ‘We’ll carry on!’ hit me harder now while the wounds are still fresh, because it’s true. He may have departed, but his memory will never leave the family as we carry on.
The best thing about all these "F note instead of a G note OMG" comments is that it's not even an F. The note located on the left side of two black keys is a C. Really don't know where all these people get this F note from xD
That filtered singing at the beginning is beautiful. Exactly what i love about both MCR, the extent of the awe they display, and Caleb, the work he puts into his covers!
i have never heard you guys before. i came to youtube looking for my chemical romance cover songs, and in the first ten seconds, just judging by how this first man's face is literally the perfect reaction meme to hearing the first few piano notes of welcome to the black parade, i have faith that this one will be good. he looks like he's seen an angel.
Lil Narish so like your not emo okay cause you'd be flipping your shit cause it's a super emotional song and that starting note (the g note) is a super powerful triggering thing to hear
GrometricBoy yah know I'm definitely not emo and never went through that faze lol but this song is still really emotional for me I was just never in the emo crowd so I'd never heard the whole g note thing and I don't do anything that would require me to know notes lol but thar beginning part gets me every time lol
The chorus' choir effect is spectacular. Absolutely amazing work. Honestly, this is gonna get me through a second bout of depression. It makes me happy to hear this again, I almost forgot about it entirely. Thank you.
Man, can you imagine a cover of him doing I don't know how to love him? Or Judas's death? Caleb and Jonathan have some of the best and strongest voices on TH-cam and never cease to amaze.
Yes. The intro starts with a G note, and it makes MCR fans sad. It's sad because makes us think of this song, which reminds us of MCR breaking up, and dead loved ones (If you have any.)
here is the lyric in case you need it. When I was a young boy My father took me into the city To see a marching band He said, "Son, when you grow up Would you be the savior of the broken The beaten, and the damned?" So people wouldn't break down and have sad flashbacks because the G note triggers unpleasant memories of MCR breaking up. It's like the "Mr Stark, I don't feel so good" Of the MCR fandom.
Why am i crying... why is this beautiful...why did my chemical romance break up... why didn't they get back together... why am i black.. why dont I have a friend who likes punk music ... why am i not dead? I need to rest now. 💝💘👍

This song reminds me of my high school years- I was in marching band for 4 years. Brings lots of memories. And in one of the football games I went to, that high school marching band performed this song.
When I was a young boy
My father took me into the city
To see a marching band
He said, son, when you grow up
Would you be the savior of the broken
The beaten, and the damned?
He said, will you defeat them
Your demons and all the non-believers?
The plans that they have made?
Because one day I'll leave you
A phantom to lead you in the summer
To join the black parade
When I was a young boy
My father took me into the city
To see a marching band
He said, son, when you grow up
You will be the savior of the broken
The beaten, and the damned?
Sometimes I get the feeling
She's watching over me
And other times I feel like I should go
And through it all
The rise and fall
The bodies in the streets
And when you're gone, we want you all to know
We'll carry on, we'll carry on
And though you're dead and gone, believe me
Your memory will carry on
We'll carry on
And in my heart I can't contain it
The anthem won't explain it
A world that sends you reeling
From decimated dreams
Your misery and hate will kill us all
So paint it black
And take it back
Let's shout it loud and clear
Defiant to the end
We hear the call
To carry on
We'll carry on
And though you're dead and gone, believe me
Your memory will carry on
We'll carry on
And though you're broken and defeated
Your weary widow marches
On and on, we carry through the fears
(Oh, oh, oh)
Disappointed faces of your peers
(Oh, oh, oh)
Take a look at me
'Cause I could not care at all
Do or die
You'll never make me
Because the world
Will never take my heart
You can try
You'll never break me
We wanna all
We want to play this part
Won't explain
Or say I'm sorry
I'm unashamed
I'm gonna show my scar
Give a cheer
For all the broken
Listen here
Because it's who we are
I'm just a man
I'm not a hero
Just a boy who had to sing this song
I'm just a man
I'm not a hero
I don't care
We'll carry on
We'll carry on
And though your dead and gone, believe me
Your memory will carry on
We'll carry on
And though you're broken and defeated
Your weary widow marches on
Do or die
You'll never make me
Because the world
Will never take my heart

Me: Thank lord
Ohhh, god!! I've been waiting for this so long! Thank you, it's so fucking beautiful 💕💕👀
the comments: *G NOTE WARNING* ASDFGHJKL
me: _it's an f note_
That filtered singing at the beginning is beautiful. Exactly what i love about both MCR, the extent of the awe they display, and Caleb, the work he puts into his covers!
i have never heard you guys before. i came to youtube looking for my chemical romance cover songs, and in the first ten seconds, just judging by how this first man's face is literally the perfect reaction meme to hearing the first few piano notes of welcome to the black parade, i have faith that this one will be good. he looks like he's seen an angel.
I have never pressed a notification so fast in my life
Caleb: *hits that G note*
And just like that a whole bunch of emos rose from the dead.
Mezz T F note*
They transposed it down a step that is an f
Can someone pls tell me what this g note thing is (or f note whatever) like I've loved this song for forever and have never heard of this lol
Never got into the Emo music, but I love metal. Love this cover.
HOLY SHIT YES! HIT EM WITH THEM G NOTE FEELS!
*gets hit*
*Dies after making questionable noises*
Literally was thinking I wish these guys did this song. I'm 3 years behind. Fuck.
Did. Not. Disappoint.
I don't feel the G note. Where is it.
Derpy Scratch It's an F note here. Transposes to a different key. That's why it hurts less
Ye but I still dunno where it is
I too have no idea what people are talking about. I guess it’s some kind of fandom thing.
Yes. The intro starts with a G note, and it makes MCR fans sad. It's sad because makes us think of this song, which reminds us of MCR breaking up, and dead loved ones (If you have any.)
It is a F note
It was a key change
here is the lyric in case you need it.
When I was a young boy
My father took me into the city
To see a marching band
He said, "Son, when you grow up
Would you be the savior of the broken
The beaten, and the damned?"
He said, "Will you defeat them
Your demons and all the non-believers?
The plans that they have made?
Because one day, I'll leave you
A phantom to lead you in the summer
To join the black parade"
When I was a young boy
My father took me into the city
To see a marching band
He said, "Son, when you grow up
You will be the savior of the broken
The beaten, and the damned?"
Sometimes I get the feelin'
She's watchin' over me
And other times I feel like I should go
And through it all, the rise and fall
The bodies in the streets
And when you're gone, we want you all to know
We'll carry on, we'll carry on
And though you're dead and gone, believe me
Your memory will carry on
We'll carry on
And in my heart, I can't contain it
The anthem won't explain it
A world that sends you reeling
From decimated dreams
Your misery and hate will kill us all
So paint it black and take it back
Let's shout it loud and clear
Defiant to the end, we hear the call
To carry on
We'll carry on
And though you're dead and gone, believe me
Your memory will carry on
We'll carry on
And though you're broken and defeated
Your weary widow marches
On and on, we carry through the fears
(Oh, oh, oh)
Disappointed faces of your peers
(Oh, oh, oh)
Take a look at me
'Cause I could not care at all
Do or die, you'll never make me
Because the world will never take my heart
Go and try, you'll never break me
We want it all, we wanna play this part
I won't explain or say I'm sorry
I'm unashamed, I'm gonna show my scars
Give a cheer for all the broken
Listen here, because it's who we are
I'm just a man, I'm not a hero
Just a boy, who had to sing this song
I'm just a man, I'm not a hero
I don't care
We'll carry on
We'll carry on
And though you're dead and gone, believe me
Your memory will carry on
You'll carry on
And though you're broken and defeated
Your weary widow marches on
Do or die, you'll never make me
Because the world will never take my heart
Go and try, you'll never break me
We want it all, we wanna play this part
We'll carry on
Do or die, you'll never make me (we'll carry on)
Because the world will never take my heart (we'll carry on)
Go and try, you'll never break me (we'll carry)
We want it all, we wanna play this part
(We'll carry on!)
You have singled handedly revived the mcr fandom
Someone want to explain to me why it is so important that they started on a F note?
It still sounds amazing.
So people wouldn't break down and have sad flashbacks because the G note triggers unpleasant memories of MCR breaking up. It's like the "Mr Stark, I don't feel so good" Of the MCR fandom.
@@castielnovak350 'the "mr stark i dont feel so good" of the mcr fandom' is now one of my favorite similes
Someone should tweet this at Dan
i didn't know this was coming and then i heard the first note and started to cry
Why am i crying... why is this beautiful...why did my chemical romance break up... why didn't they get back together... why am i black.. why dont I have a friend who likes punk music ... why am i not dead? I need to rest now. 💝💘👍
I love how expressive caleb is in this video
My mind can’t process how awesome this is.
Honestly, Caleb is one of those people that can take songs I somewhat dislike and turn them into stuff of legends that I put on repeat for ten hours. Great work as usual, dude!
Thanks for taking something perfect and adding your own touch to it. This cover is amazing, and yet it's not the same. You guys do great work!
Al Borland's son just crushed this song! CAAAARRRRRRRRRY ONNNNN!
