- Ive had to be real patient. It all didnt happen right away. Even in the midst of the whole gallery art world I thought this was the greatest thing in the world, but there was more.

Known for pioneering a more abstract style of graffiti writing, Futura played a major role in the NYCs graffiti scene of the 70s. As the popularity of graffiti art flared in the 70's and 80's, Futura's work was shown alongside artists such as Basquiat and Keith Haring. As his style developed, he began designing, and has collaborated with numerous artists and companies, including The Clash, Supreme, and A Bathing Ape. When i first saw a futura tag it stuck in my mind forever, i never forgot the name and this was probably back in the 70's uptown... such class - keep it up!

Dose anyone remember a dude named CORTEZ, he did Haring type art but it was original, it was all his own. I seen some of his work in Jersey in like 86/87.
Wonder what influenced /influence he got from environment or experience
Respect to the old school writers,I started back in 83 after style wars and beat street hit the screens back in NZ and I’ve seen the art form change dramatically since then to this mind blowing stuff around today. Only wish we had fat and skinny caps back then😂
