Did TH-cam take down your original upload? I hope you didn't get a strike for it! If you need to re-upload any of your reactions, can you add "re-upload" to the title so that us viewers don't think we're going crazy or on another timeline? 🤣
I don't love that, he should have gotten his book death. I was so disappointed when. I first saw the Return of the King and didn't see the Battle of Bywater. And then when I saw my first reaction to the extended edition and saw how they killed Saruman I was pissed.
Aragorn is of the royal blood of Elros, Elrond’s twin brother and the first king of Numeneor, Tolkien’s Atlantis. The brothers were both Half Elves, and the Valar (Gods of Middle Earth) ruled that the children of such parents can choose which heritage to follow. Elrond chose to be an elf, but Elros chose mortality (albeit with still hugely expanded lifespans). This is why Elrond didn’t turn on Isildur in Mount Doom when he refused to destroy the ring, and took in Aragon as a child- they remain kin. 😊
There's actually a section in the book of The Hobbit where Bilbo gets some Elf guards drunk on the wine they're supposed to be guarding. Elves react normally to alcohol and were probably the first to use it.The scriptwriters just put in the Legolas scene for laughs. The Witch King isn't the opposite of Gandalf, because even though he's a powerful Ringwraith he's ultimately only a man. The Wizards are not human - like Sauron and the Balrog they are originally angelic beings, older than the world. In the book the Witch King does *not* break Gandalf's staff (and probably wouldn't be able to), because apart from other things it's a symbol of delegated authority, ultimately from the highest source. That's why Gandalf breaks Saruman's staff - the latter has betrayed his mission and fallen, like Sauron did thousands of years earlier..
The opening is the one place in LOTR that you get to see the real face of Andy Serkis, who voiced Smeagol/Gollum and also did all the Motion Capture work that formed the basis of Gollum in the Trilogy. And the guy never got even a mention on the Oscars! 😞
Yes, elves get drunk. In fact they love good wine. In The Hobbit a couple of elves who are supposed to be guarding prisoners and packing barrels for the Elven King get plastered together and fall asleep, allowing Bilbo and the dwarves to escape from the King’s palace.
Regarding Denethor, the movie omits that Faramir's mother died giving birth to him, leading to Denethor's distain for him. Also, Denethor has a palantir and has been using it. Sauron has been feeding him demoralizing images through the seeing stone, leading to Denethor's mental instability.
When Smeagol & Deagol fought over the ring, that's actually the normal amount of time it takes to corrupt someone. It wasn't unusually fast with Smeagol- it was unusually slow and ineffective against Bilbo and Frodo. That's why they were so necessary to the outcome.
Bear in mind as well that the ring was sitting in the Anduin for 2,500 years; when Deagol and Sméagol found it, it exerted itself fully to get someone to take it- the normal sounds of whispering and whistling are now a shrieking wail- the poor lads had no chance at all.
Andy Serkis actually plays Gollum, maybe that's why they've made him look a bit like him. He also plays King Kong is the next Peter Jackson movie. (And a bunch of other 3D characters).
9:55 the reason Legolas shot Grima is because Grima is shot in the book. But NOT by Legolas. On November 2, TA3019 the last engagement of the War of the Ring happened, in The Shire. The Battle of Bywater. After the coronation of Aragorn, the four Hobbits returned to The Shire and found it being controlled by Sharky and Chief. The Hobbits were arrested for violating rules, but talked their way out of it. They then rallied Hobbits to revolt against this Chief and his master Sharky. 200 Bucklanders rallied to Samwise Gamgee, Captain Merry of Rohan, Captain Pippin of Gondor, and Frodo Baggins joining a force of 100 of Pippins family the Tooks, and an undisclosed number of Hobbiton residents. 100 ruffians that had been flooding into the Shire taking it over and outlawing food and inns everything that made the Hobbits happy. The battle happened as the forces led mostly by Peregrine Took Captain of Gondor (the 100 Tooks he brought back from Tookland) and Captain Meriadoc Brandybuck Knight of Rohan (in command of the 200 Bucklanders) ambused the 100 ruffians, killing 69 and capturing 12 while only 19 Hobbits died and 30 were wounded. After the dead were buried the forces marched to Bag End to dispose Sharky and were shocked to find Sharky was actually Saruman. Frodo ordered Saruman away but before Saruman could do so he was attacked by Grima Wormtongue who was fed up with the years of being controlled by Saruman. After cutting his throat, Grima ran only for Hobbit bows to twang and him to fall with several arrows fired from Middle Earth's most capable archers, the Hobbits.
The movie does down Denethor unnecessarily- he’s a perfect study of Tolkien’s main theme that the loss of hope, succumbing to despair, is the worst sin one can commit. In the book, Denethor also had a seeing stone, a Palantír. Unlike Saruman, who Sauron cowed and corrupted, Denethor was fed the truth, but with the worst possible spin put on it, feeding him despair and paranoia.😊
i like how they filmed two friends when one of them got murdered the other, then on the next scene it starts by showing Sam which will be loyal to Frodo
Aragorn has a longer lifespan than most men (I believe he is 88 during the lord of the rings) because he is from a race of men that has elven lineage in the distant past. Being with him would also mean forsaking her immortality and thus their children would not live forever.
Yes it is. other one got permanently taken down. That was because i had slightly risen the audio levels to be louder and like 36 hours later my video got blocked. While passing all the tests initially. So hopefully this is loud enough for people. Other channels get past this issue by clipping every 2-3 seconds just enough to get the "character line in" mixed in with muting audio on the visual. We much prefer showing longer form content!

Yo, I'm so glad you watched the extended, of this one more than any of the three. Jeez.

I always love that Christopher Lee gets a final stake through the heart in memory of his years playing Dracula 😂
I feel like an absolute fool… this movie came out 20 years ago and I never put two-and-two together on that. Shame on me…
@stephenfitzgerald9769 they talk about it in the behind the scenes appendices videos, I actually enjoy those more than the movies 😂
Well more like a dagger in the lung, but I get what you are saying.

@@cpmf2112 well, twice the fool; double the shame… I think RotK is the only one that I haven’t yet watched the behind the scenes material for.

You guys are fantastic, you pick up on a lot of the little things. Enjoying this along with you!
Glad to have you with us!!

3:10 2500 years of isolation? yeah. Desperation level power from that ring to get a bearer.
That is my head canon whenever I see that scene 😂

Re-upload??? We watched this like 5 days ago.
I think I may have been taken down for copyright
Idk I watched part 2 and this has not been online a while.
@jip5889 i watched part 1 and 2 on sunday night.
10:30 Come come pippin, dont subscribe to Sauron's gore stream.
According to lore, you have to kill a wizard 3 times for him to stay dead. And so Saruman did, Grima, being impaled and drowning.
Great reaction
🎉🎉🎉
Is this a reupload?
I thought that but then thought I was imagining it!
I think so
Yes its a reupload
