Adhesives are substances, such as cement, glue, and paste that are capable of holding materials together by surface attachment. They are made from basic materials such as latex, silicones, and starch. They may range in viscosity from water thin to extremely viscous polymers - and some are shear sensitive.
Adhesives are used in a number of different applications including: the manufacturing of cardboard boxes, plywood, paper bags, and industries like automotive and printing.
The 1124A Series is cast iron and features Viking's O-Pro Barrier seal - which virtually eliminates leakage and uses a grease barrier to prevent air infiltration to the product. The 1124A Series has low shear capabilities and a capacity up to 400 gallons per minute.
The 4124B Series is also cast iron with high viscosity sealing options. This series has capacities up to 500 gallons per minute.
Finally, the 8124A Series is cast iron with a magnetic, sealless design - to protect the product from air or humidity. They have capacities up to 500 gallons per minute.
These are just a few of Viking's pumps designed for the transfer and metering of adhesives.

All of the pump series covered in this video are rotary positive displacement pumps. Flow is proportional to RPM. So this would depend on the size of pump and the flow rate required. Contact your local distributor to work through any specific process requirements - www.vikingpump.com/contact
