The number 1 reason we use Sling is the ease of wireless cameras of just about any cell phone thru an app.
Yeah we still keep and use the Slingstudio for those reasons too. Wish they didn't drop the ball on their product. Would have been nice to see some newer versions of it.

Great comparison video (a bit one-sided from Mark)... Yolo Box wins on the streaming, but for those of us who use it for straight videography as much (if not more) than for streaming, it's essential to have the individual streams with the Premiere Pro extension. Sling Studio (as a business) is now completely gone (website is finally down too), so I'm praying that a new solution will be out before mine finally breaks down. I'm usually filming stage performances, so the ability to fix it in post is essential. I'll be back to my old start-from-scratch editing in post if I don't find one.

Following the setup premise of this video, that all you need is the YoloBox Pro by itself to accomplish what the SlingStudio setup will do, I think I missed something: how are you getting your remote cameras to wirelessly connect to the YoloBox? Surely you need something like a Hollyland or similar transmitter/receiver, and would be equivalent to the CameraLinks in the SlingStudio setup which you rejected as unnecessary in your comparison, right?
Hi Mike, thank you for watching! We do mention things such as wireless camera links as something that slingstudio has over the yolobox, but in the end yolobox wins the overall with more features plus the biggest thing is that yolobox is still supporting their product, developing new products & versions of products, listening to their clients, and fixing issues. Stingstudio should be on version 3 by now. We still love slingstudio and use it when we need those wireless camera links.
Usb as well can bring audio to yolo from audio interface

I just sold my SlingStudio Hub, battery and 2 Cam Links and purchased the YoloBox Pro because of the lack of customer support. Now I just have to get comfortable with the YoloBox Pro. I found your video looking for a video to answer if the YoloBox Pro had the capability to record onto a SD card. Thanks for this video.

But the two products can be used for total different things the whole point of having a sling is to have remote cameras with the yolo box you have to buy separately and being able to walk around with an iPad is so nice because once you plug in the yolo box you can’t move it
Hey thank you for watching! The main thing they both do is multicam live streaming so that is the base comparison, but they each have some unique features. The only reason YoloBox won was the shear amount of usable features over what Sling Studio has(especially supporting their products) . They do have some things to work on, but if they can get those worked out they will be hard to beat.
Does Yolo have the capability to go wireless? Our Slingstudio completely went down and won't connect, so being able to be mobile is important for our worship service.
not the same way that sling does. It would be great if yolobox bought slingstudio and were able to use slings wireless tech in the next yolobox product.
A good backup option to the SS. if the SS had actually kept going innovating, improving, updating. It would be a much better produced than what it stopped at.

I just got yolobox pro with accsoon cineview HE that makes in stream 1200ft wirelessly
So, no one mentions if the YoloBox has capture apps for smartphones? The entire reason I got a sling studio is because it can use smartphones as wireless camera sources which is extremely convenient... If the yoloBox does not do that, that's a huge benefit to the sling studio that's not even mentioned at all in this video?
Your right yolobox doesn't have a capture app for cell phones unfortunately. The best you can get is doing the remote caller feature. Sorry we missed mentioning that feature on slingstudio. The thing that yolobox have over sling is they are continuing to improve it as to where slingstudio hasn't done anything to progress in years. We should be on slingstudio 2 by now at least.
@@FilmSandwichTotally agree that it's a great system that should probably be avoided due to lack of support. they've gone the way of SpaceMonkey... excellent launch, followed by a mysterious dissappearance.

As a streaming unit, YoloBox seems pretty simple and straight forward.

Yes
Yes but currently does not save replay clips and you can't choose when to play them, they play straight after the replay key is pressed.
Its hard to say good bye to SS where Yolo Box Pro stealing the show now. at the same time you have missed out the buggy patches sent out by Yolo a month ago on their transitions. Yes, Indeed Yolo need a Wireless features, but SS has the xml thing which I can re-pack the program with Native 4k Cameras. Thanks for video.

Do they have video clip scrubbing in othere YoloBox versions or is it somewhere I didn't see it?

You only had to bring one thing Ron, I wouldn't be to hasty to ditch your old tech yet. Yolobox is good but it's a dip your toe in the water to start you off live streaming with ease and very little knowledge. It does suffer with reliability issues, so edge on the side of caution. I use mine every weekend and it's failed a few times. I would have loved the Slingshot but it wasn't available here in the UK. One thing Yololiv have over the competition is thick skin and marketing. Boy they do not give up, they keep on plodding along, giving users pretty much any thing they want and ask for. Nice comparison but do a side by side real life field test on performance and how the stream really looks, you might be a little suprised.
There is definitely things YoloBox lacks on but do make up some if it with listening to their client base. They will get there. I have seen reliability issue some have had with sling too. Such a same such a great product hasn't moved forward.
I wish every manufacturers of the hardwares I bought, could "give users pretty much any thing they want and ask for". It's not an easy thing to do, at least it's not as easy as it sounds like when you put it like that. & if you think "One thing Yololiv have over the competition is thick skin and marketing", you are wrong and overrate the impact of marketing in the videography world.
Believe it or not, we found most of the reliability issues that people reported are simply user errors.
@@frankfengzhu mostly user errors, but actual product error or reliability issues are still issues -- not to mention that with every update, its amazing how new issues come up and vary from person to person
