So, in the sentiment of not throwing away money..the steamer. If it relaxes you and your skin enjoys it, go for it. But. Pores don't open or close. The steam can help remove the dead skin and gunk and that's why the pores will look smaller, but they don't actually open or close.
They do look cute in those wrap things. Especially compared to some of the other ones. I wanna try one cuz my hair is about her length & everyone else id seen use them had super long hair.
For Dibs: I have also always called my hair puffy/poofy and my hair looks a lot like yours, I recently learned that that happens with wavy hair. Once I started treating my hair like it is wavy/curly I no longer get that poofyness and my natural wave is becoming more and more defined. Either way, your hair looks gorgeous and I love seeing you in videos!
I also think Rach has wavy hair. At 36, I found out that my hair was wavy from a dna test. Everything clicked and now my routine is totally different and my hair is happy.
Yes! I was a frizzy straight and finally started to embrace wavy hair products and it’s a game changer. You should get Dibs a bunch of wavy hair products and have her shower, condition, scrunch, top of head, overnight, sleep, or wave diffuse. I bet you she’ll realize how curly her hair actually is.
Women have been so conditioned to straighten our hair that I think it’s hard to know what to do when you have wavy or curly. This seems to be slowly changing though which is great coming from a curly girlie.
Just wanted to say: your hair looks AMAZING at the beginning of this video!! That was literally my thought when the video started: “oh wow! Rachel’s hair looks so elegant!”
To avoid choking on the steamer try to pull it back farther and point the nozzle down so it’s more blowing down the face and not up the nose. And thank you for telling ppl not to use those tools! Love, an esthetician
As someone who was a horseback rider for over 15 years, it makes my heart happy to hear you getting back into it. I miss my horses so much (had to give it up when I got married and moved). I’ve used the jet thing before and it was great. Didn’t get electrocuted lol. Been contemplating getting another one. And I love me some Epsom salt baths (I’m a bath girly).
I think the main issue with the hair wrap leaving dents is that your hair was dry and then sprayed after. When you dry your hair you re seal the peptide bond on the hair strand. So misting will leave an uneven pattern of wetness. The bond on the hair strand is broken with water. So only some of the hair was sprayed down or some areas more then other. And then the wet areas will dry in a more set shape because the bond shapes the hair as it dries. It’s important to towel dry to about 85 precent and is evenly damp all over before you wrap.
Love a habit tracker! I became the most hydrated Tina in 2023 because I wanted to color in all my boxes with the prettiest glitter gel pen. So satisfying!
Oooooh! Congratulations! I am terrible at drinking enough water, I am trying one of those scnt water bottles with those scented pods, you smell it as you drink and it’s meant to trick your mind into thinking you are drinking flavoured water! Even then, I don’t drink enough! Maybe I should try a habit tracker! 💕
For the yoga pants! They have a “mini flare” style which I think you’d like more!! I have issues with finding pants for long legs too lol and the mini flare is always flattering!
Couple of notes about the neck stretcher: One, Rachel, you didn't read the directions haha. You're supposed to have your hands up by your head, which brings the shoulders down and increases the stretch. If you rotate it so the 'fin' in under your neck, that's how you get a deeper stretch and affect different vertebrae. It says that on the little card on the bottom that you removed with the plastic wrap. Two, it don't recommend it for someone with hyper-mobility in their neck. It won't hurt, it just did nothing for me, and my PT gave me a brace that does the same thing, but has secure points on my chin to keep my joints from overextending. I ended up giving mine to my sister and mom. It works well for them!
She doesn't research or read directions on anything. Just shows products she hopes you buy from her links. She definitely isn't a product reviewer, just a salesman
Yes, I love her but it’s annoying that she doesn’t read the directions. We’re not getting an accurate assessment of the product if it’s not being used correctly.
I finally figured out the vibe I get from you, after like yeeeeears YEARS of following your channel. Youre the big sister who wants to teach us how to do the things. Makeup, cook things, the other things. Am I usually excited about makeup? No. Am I after you try things? Yes!
Knowing how hard it is to actually find clothes that fit AND are decent quality - I was SOOO excited that you had a good try-on ❤️ and a plus-it all looked amazing on you ((even though I think you can pull anything off)) love your channel and whole family and look forward to your vids for 2024!!
Are you documenting your keyboard building anywhere? I'd love to see what you end up with! I'm also looking to upgrade my keyboard and literally had just saved that exact video clip you showed - such a creamy sound!
I LOVE the Tymo straightener. My hair is thick and curly. Plate type straighteners take FOREVER to get through all of my hair and leave it flat and "lifeless" looking (e.g., no movement, too much shine so my hair looks greasy). This tool takes no time to glide through my hair, straightening, but not taking out all the body. LOVE LOVE LOVE it! And love you for finding long yoga pants!! I've got stilts for legs, so ath-leisure pants usually let me down. Not these though! Thank you for hunting them down, fellow tall gal!! 💕
7:21 Gorgeous hair!! Almost a Princess Leia look ❤! I have thick, naturally curly hair. So I don’t know what it feels to have thin hair, but I appreciate your hair products. My hair is no longer curly, it’s wavy and ya can’t tame that unless you use alot of hairspray 😅 27:05 Thanks Dibs!!
Hello Rach! Happy new year! 🎉 I just wanted to say hi 👋 and that I’ve been watching your videos for quite a while. I love your videos because 1: I’m a mom 💁🏻♀️ 2: I’m also tall so I can relate 😂 and 3: I love to cook! I also just wanted to mention that I am a professional horse trainer and I love that you started riding again! ❤
I think that's a really good idea and I would like to try that. I wear a hoodie to bed and I put my braids up so that they won't be on my neck and I hold them in place with a scrunchie and then I just put the hood over my head and sleep that way because it's cold. But I'm wondering if the satin sleep cap would be better for my hair. I was putting some out in the store that I work in today and I was considering it. I've seen people wear them a lot online and they look very comfortable and very roomy. So you could definitely fit a lot of hair in there. I've seen adults wear them and also children. And all races. I used to think they were just for people with textured hair but I guess they are for anybody who wants to protect their hair when they sleep.😮
That lip product looked great!! I love it on you! I think it works with your makeup. It's like romantic like. I love horseback riding and horses! I had to stop riding because of neck issues but I still love horses. I love that you're taking riding lessons!
I bought The Gym People Crewneck sweatshirt in a Barbie pink. Hands down best one I’VE EVER OWNED. I wore it for 3 days. Go get your own now people. Cause I’m buying them out!
Great video as always!! Do you have a link to the white neck traction pillow/foam thing? Or where you bought it from? I had one similar I got from my chiropractor that I loved and really helped with my neck problems, but it unfortunately got ruined when our basement flooded and my chiropractor doesn’t sell them anymore. I’ve tried ones like the one in this video from Amazon, but it just isn’t the same and doesn’t work as well so I’d love to get one like the white one you have. 💜🩷
Your hair in the wired curl thing reminded me of Grace Kelly’s hair on her wedding day! So elegant. When you set up the spa machine in your tub, I was screaming “Don’t do it! Don’t do it! Send it back!!”
I just find the hair curler things really funny as someone who has curly hair! Everyone always asks me why I don't wear my hair naturally curly, because my curls look exactly like yours did after using this product lol. There's always weird spots in it that aren't even it's never just perfect curls!
One side of my head is curly and the other side is wavy. And then I have one small chunk of hair that is pretty straight. I got the follicular DNA combo meal. 🤨
As a massage therapist I highly recommend epsom salt baths I do 2 a week with a couple drops of essential oil usually lavender at night and tea tree when I’m stuffy
Thank you for testing the tub jets! I had just commented on a video asking to see something like that and then here you are trying something out! Definitely looks underwhelming and don't like the fact it has to be plugged in while being in the water as well! So glad I came across your channel last year!
I have much tighter curls than Dibs, and I use that straightener, and I LOVE it. It works so well on my hair. I go every few weeks to have my stylist flat iron my hair, but now I've been doing it at home most of the time. I don't do it as well, so before special events, I still have my stylist do it, but I love it! Rach, you should review the Wonderskin lip stain! It's amazing!
Some habits I’ve tracked in the past have included going to bed or getting up at certain times (I really struggle to get good sleep, so was working on sleep hygiene), water intake, exercise, journaling, daily creativity time, meditating, vitamins, etc..
For the straightening brush, my mom is a hairdresser and used it on my daughter who has super tight kinky curls and it is Amazing! So much that I ordered one for home! My daughter gets keratherapy done on her hair because it’s so curly and frizzy! This brush was super easy to use and straightened it so well in a short period of time because of course she always wants straight hair!
It’s too bad she doesn’t learn how to treat her curls properly and embrace them. I bet they’re pretty and not as damaging as straightening and chemicals. If use the right curly hair products, hair is not frizzy. Lots of good videos out there.
These are my favourite videos of yours 😊❤ Just so people know steam will not open or close pores that's impossible but it will soften the skin to make extractions and things easier 😊
Hi - I am Marian from the UK. I love your videos. With regards to epsom salts, my husband suffers terribly with his back and a massage therapist also recommended them to him about 10 years ago. They are amazing. When his back is really bad he does a long Epsom bath soak two or three days on the trot and the relief is amazing, I love the fact they’re very natural and they’re great if you scent them with lemon oil in a jar. Or lavender if you like that.
I have 3b/3c curly hair, and if i straighten my hair, it's great for in between touch ups (humidity or just life that makes the curl start) i have tried it for first time straightening and it does the job but i prefer a flat iron for the first time
Lol. You made me think of the fact that I’m 30 and people always seem weirded out because I say things my mom always said as well. Such as “fine and dandy”, “peachy keen”, or my favorite as a phlebotomist is that without meaning to, I always ask, “ready spaghetti?” and people are constantly lamenting on that I seem too young for those phrases or they just seem confused lmao.
Thank you! I was going through these comments to see if anyone had written out the name of that thing, bc I was nowhere near figuring out the spelling well enough to search for one online
Thank you!!!! I just left a comment asking for a link or where to get it from. I was also reading through all the comments hoping to find one about it so I really appreciate you putting the name in so I can find it 🩷💜
Oh, girl, I completely understand the fine hair situation. When I was younger (I’m 57), I had super-short hair: great for fine hair. But now I want hair, mine is about as long as yours. Curls are hard on fine, straight hair. The curler looks like a good idea. PS: Long-time fan. ❤
I find that a steamer works great if your prone to getting styes. Thankfully it’s been a while since I’ve had one, but it helped a ton the last time I had one
Just a suggestion for the lip issue you are having (I live in New England so I have similar winter lips)… try the Fresh brand Sugar Advanced Therapy lip rescue ointment. It has fixed my lips!
I have tymo straightener brush thing and I actually really like it. I didn’t at first but I gave it a second chance and I liked it better this time around. My issue was not being able to get close enough to my roots. But it was just operator error.
I have a habit tracker similar to the one you showed but smaller and I had it for years without touching it. I started using it at the beginning of this year and have uses it everyday but I keep it in my livingroom for when I get up and eat in the morning and I fill it out for the day before. If I hung mine up, I'd literally forget it's there 😅 so far I think it's actually helping a ton and I love it!
My holy grail heartless curlers are Bun Bons. They are easy to use, self contained, easy to sleep in, & the tiny bonnets keep them from getting messed up overnight/during getting ready
I was getting SO excited when you started talking about finding long pants on Amazon…and then you said 34” inseam 😂😭 crying because I’ll never find the 37” inseam I need. Cold ankles forever
YESSSSS on the Tymo hair straightner brush. I have super thick ugly curly hair bought it on a "god I hope this works" and I have a back-up in case they stop making it AND convinced my sister to buy one.
Rach, for super dry lips that crack and I know this because I have the same problem and live in central Iowa. Get a tube of Triple Paste (yep a diaper cream) Get a small bit of it on your finger and put it on your lips.... use it as an overnight mask for your lips or even for your face if your skin is very dry... that stuff is Magic!!! I know it sounds crazy but trust me.
So, in the sentiment of not throwing away money..the steamer. If it relaxes you and your skin enjoys it, go for it. But. Pores don't open or close. The steam can help remove the dead skin and gunk and that's why the pores will look smaller, but they don't actually open or close.
was gonna say this! xoxo
Thank you! I was going to say this! Pores are not muscles, they can't open or close
@@Melissa-sx9vhmuscles don't open and close either, they contract and relax
Speaking of the steamer… I fully believe the ‘stick’ is for a yoni steam not for lay-down facials 😅
@Desoppop I wouldn't have thought of that but it totally makes sense especially with the rise in that trend in recent years!
I guess I'm strange, because before you mentioned that your hair wasn't supposed to look like that, I thought ''Oh what a cute hairstyle'' 🤣🤣
I love messy updos! I thought it was cute too lol
They do look cute in those wrap things. Especially compared to some of the other ones. I wanna try one cuz my hair is about her length & everyone else id seen use them had super long hair.

You should try Pacifica coconut milk detangler you can use on wet or dry hair & it smells so good ❤
I looooove horseback riding!! I hope the sore body gets better soon. It's definitely worth it ❤
Working on being more positive. I started a gratitude journal where every night I write two things I'm grateful for. Teeeny or huge.
Sunzel also have a mini flare legging. I’m just over 5 ft tall and the petite mini flare are perfect length
Rach can you test the bask la gel nail steamer thing? It's supposed to magically remove gel nails without damage but idk if it would even work
Super early 🥰 love from northern Ontario Canada! How’s the cold out there? We’ve hit -32 last night
WHAT!! I think the coldest I've seen is -20 with wind chill? (That's -4F for all the Americans lol)
@@RachhLoves it was -36 with the windchill! -29 without! I was cold 🤣🤣
It was -6 in my bit of England and that's already far too cold! I don't think it's getting colder than that
@@duchenefan I wish! It gets so cold here in northern Ontario!
What is your nail polish? I love that color!!
Cold ankles forever
what nail polish is that Rachel? cn you pls share? :)))
YESSSSS on the Tymo hair straightner brush. I have super thick ugly curly hair bought it on a "god I hope this works" and I have a back-up in case they stop making it AND convinced my sister to buy one.
I bought this sweathshirt. Do you have reviews of how it's hold up after washing? It fits perfectly but I'm afraid of shrinkage upon first wash 😅
I have VERY curly hair and the TYMO works!!
Where did you get your “I think I think too much” sweatshirt from?! I NEED ONE!!
I have curly thick hair and love my Tymo brush. It straightens my hair on the 3rd setting. I have very stubborn hair.
the bath thing? Jacuzzi, I believe x
The heatless curls hate me!! lol Rachel please link those earrings!!! ❤❤❤❤
I believe they’re from Pavoi! 🩷
I actually like your hair look in the beginning 😊
Rach, for super dry lips that crack and I know this because I have the same problem and live in central Iowa. Get a tube of Triple Paste (yep a diaper cream) Get a small bit of it on your finger and put it on your lips.... use it as an overnight mask for your lips or even for your face if your skin is very dry... that stuff is Magic!!! I know it sounds crazy but trust me.
Bag balm works too 👍
