I saw it the second he drew grapple but only because I wasn't playing. If I had been I would have missed it and then accidentally target the witch and died. 😅

Except the actual correct line (highest chance to win) was to Grapple their flier and sac the role offensively on his turn to put them to 3 and then attack with a 3/5 flier to force them to sac the Tough Cookie for 3 life.
The only actually great play in this video is figuring out the reach trick in the last game and not attacking.

I’m seeing from the gameplay that it’s not just about the deck you pick, it’s about how you play it also. Great playing Nummy well deserved ❤ I went 4-3 myself and I know I made mistakes in my gameplay :) I posted it this time in case anyone wanted to review it.

Had a really similar experience to this. Opened virtue of loyalty, imodane’s recruiter, bunicorn, and lots of removal. Ez 7 wins in under an hour since arena decided virtue was tied to my opening hands. Can’t wait to get immediately dumpstered in the draft tomorrow🎉

That werefox for trample damage after killing the blocker at 20 minutes was a nice line trample once again being such an underated keyword
It's underrated? I swear I see most people myself included consider it in their top 4 in terms of evergreen keywords and get a bit irritated when anything with power 5 or more doesn't have it baked in. It could be that I don't watch enough MTG content creators.
@@w47765 trample definetly isnt in the list of most people for most scary keyword ( i didnt say evergreen)
This consideration of adding trample to bypass a removed blocker is one I have yet to consider. I've used it in the situation where double strike is in play, but never in what would otherwise be a fizzled block. I am really new to MTG (about 3 months playtime on Arena), and while I did watch the video in it's entirety, I totally missed what he meant by "If I don't cast the Warefox adventure there, we don't trample over for 4 extra damage." I was focused on him getting the wicked role damage, and the bargain of Negotiator, that I totally missed Greta would have done 0 damage without the trample.
All this is to say, is thank you for the comment because it made me go back and look at the play again, and there was definitely a layer (a very important one) which I had missed.
That leaping ambush read at the end was sick, even if they didn’t have it it was their only way back in the game. If not just an instant win right there for opp. Well played!
Nummy had a ton of great lines in the other matches but that read was the highlight for me...
Just the fact the opponent didn't insta-surrender tells you he had something. Well, that and something holding priority. It was most likely leaping, since thats about the only thing that saves him. Its very likely not candy grapple since he would've used it earlier, not waited.

On the other hand, if he played into it he still would have won the next round with the same play. It could have been Royal after all anyway. It makes for good content but it might as well have cost him the game if the opponent drew removal.
I think it was unlikely. Opponent could have just as easily flooded out and kept a land with some stops. Imagine that or the royal treatment and the draws on the last turn are reversed (Nummy having a creature and op drawing a removal spell) - in that case Nummy would throw a won game.
That 6th win was chef's kiss. Great work Nummy!

I beat a T2 bitterblossom played by opponent on the play.
My deck was certifiably insane. Hellkite, plasma, grapple, collectors vault, insane fixing.... still went 5-3.

Siiick Greta makes for a good commander deck
the being on the draw thing ticks me off so much. Not saying its rigged or anything, it obviously evens out over time, but its super annoying when you only got time for a handful of games and just happen to be on the draw like 6 times in a row. (especially when you're playing a fast format where being on the play is significantly better)
Even then, he still won all of them being on the draw. That’s how great of a player he is

That was a pretty good sealed deck, and pretty good luck mostly.
All the math that gets done on what is easier to qualify, quantifies a b01 match w/l as the same as a b03.....feel that's very misleading....since in b01 the game record needs be 7-2 to qualify....where b03 u can go 8-4 and qualif on games while winning all your matches, Long as no two losses are during one match....numbers do lie the way we want them too....I think there are other consideration more important than just what winrate would qualify. One thing I wish wotc up prizes for b01

On the last game, you could have won a turn earlier I think if you cast the Sentinel before combat. The sentinel could've buried their coven, which would allow you to attack with both flyers.
Sentinel doesn't work like that. The 2nd ability puts OP's adventure creature already in exile to the bottom. The creature has to be in exile, like when you cast the first part of adventure and they are in exile. It doesn't exile creatures you don't own.
@@TheCapscorepion I guess you’re right. I don’t know Sentinel very well (haven’t been able to play with it). Did it give Numot the option to choose the second ability because there randomly was a creature in OP exile? Obviously it’s meant to be on an adventure but I’m guessing this happened to be a niche case?
@@awboqm Exactly there was a random creature, I rewind it back, it gave the option because Numot exiled his Fell Horseman at 48:20 with Taken by Nightmares. In this set, Sentinel is mainly for adventure cards but it works with all cards that are in exiled (glass casket, torch the tower, etc..). In this case, had he chosen the 2nd option, all it would've done was put OP's horseman at the bottom of his library.
I love how everyone is applying math and win rates to a game with insane variance. Empirical evidence is almost irrelevant in Magic. What if bad players made great cards appear bad? What Frank should say is "folks new to limited, which makes them weaker, play best of one".
Empirical evidence is never irrelevant. High variance doesn't change that.
