I somehow stumbled upon this video. I am left in complete awe. Never once did you take a shortcut. Somehow, you went from mechanic to surgeon. Rebuilding and restoring life. Bringing back exploration and exhilaration. With each component, care and competency. I wish you were in Arizona. I can't tell you the worth of a solid meticulous engineer. Especially when you find yourself 20 - 25 miles from the nearest road. Job well done, sir. Well done.
What an awesome comment. Thanks for taking the time to write this. I'm glad you enjoyed seeing the transformation! Funny enough, my parents live in Arizona and I am down there every now and again!

1998 Yamaha YZ125 is one of my most favorites Dirt Bikes ever! My dad has one and it was old, he made it looking like it was brand new one. Got a Dirt Bike for my birthday and finaly had the ride that ive been dreaming since he got the bike :) 2024-08-01 17 : 07
Damn man this takes me back to some great memories. My Dad bought me my very first dirtbike back in 2001…a ‘98 YZ125. This bike has a special place in my heart so to see this beauty revived to life was a real pleasure watching. Thank you, great work.
I ran across this video today. I must say. Wow! Excellent restoration job. Such a nice bike. The complete tear down and small detail that was addressed. Very very nice. I watched the whole video. Was totally satisfied. Glad I did. Keep up the good work brother. Keep striving for perfection. Loved it. Whatever your doing now, hope your doing well. Thank you for a great video.
I have watched so much of your restoration videos..... You inspired me alot , so my basket case if all goes well will be here dec , 3 months from now ... But when i get it it will be super rad .... In my country there is not alot of spares available for the bike so most of the parts neaded wil be serviced or made .... I just cant wait .... Its a woods bike and a bit old .... Kdx 200.... Heard it is a solid bike .... Thanks for the inspiration
😎👌🏻 I have a Yz 125 98 I am having a few troubles with it at the moment as my exhaust leaks and it’s only got a metal clamp to stop the leaking but it doesn’t have a rubber grommet, I can’t find one either
Great job where did you get side stand who makes it also side frame protectors and exaust hangers blue they are nice thanks bro nice to see such profection
I'm doing my 2001 yz125 this was very informative without having to say a word! Too bad you don't close by I could sure use a lot of help.... by the way what is that color of blue you used on your shock spring?
I’m restoring a 2000 yz125 and I’ve been using a generic degreaser and a scotch bright pad but I’m about to buy the cleaning wheels off of pryme. What did you use for cleaning I noticed you had something mixed up in a bowl when cleaning the rear shock.
Cool video. Love the YZ125. But what is that on the left side reaching from the foot peg/ swingarm area up to near the number plate? Is that a kick stand?
You are missing a part in the shift assembly. It’s possible that your shifter has some slack in it, before putting the bike into gear. There is a missing washer…
Total is around $4400, around $3300 when sponsored parts are factored into it. Ended up more expensive than I was hoping. Was missing LOTS of small OEM parts.
@@KincadePavich I am about to send in my forks to get rebuilt and have my frame painted and then I’m ready to start putting it back together. Any tips for the rebuild portion of it? Thanks
i have what i beileve is a 00 to maybe 05 model would love opinions and help getting restored . email me with any help with parts. man highly love the content and wish you the best with that sweet new build of yours . my condolences. over. ordinary

Beautiful! I purchased a 1996 completely disassembled a month ago to restore. To my surprise it had the 144cc kit on it. Great video! Keep it up
How hard is it to go back to stack if I bought a bike with a big bore kit
Your an awesome mechanic Sor
I love these videos man, currently doing a frame up build on my 00’ yz125 for the 2nd time. Just pure enjoyable machines to work on. Sick build 🤘🏼

I love these older bikes. Back when they were simple and reliable
Modern bikes kick ass too, but something to be said for the older ones no doubt

I have a 98 that looks just like yours, I’m thinking of doing a complete restoration on it. Great video, bike looks great!
Awesome, you should do it! Glad you enjoyed!
Great build. The wheelset is 🔥.
I've got quite a few plastic pieces to dye black. From the look of it those turned out great.
Just get new plastics it’s worth it
One of the funnest bikes you’ve ever rode, I think that KTM might sit awhile!
Gives me hope on my 98 nice work!!
Thanks, good luck with yours!
You are so talented! Pleasure to watch
Glad you enjoyed!
Awesome rebuild!

It's PJ1 Yamaha blue! My build series might have some more detailed footage if there's something specific you're looking for.
Good job bro from Thailand 👍✌️T💨💨💨

Yeah, he added an aftermarket kick stand.
Do you have a link to the exhaust? Very nice build
Sir
Awesome bro. But how do you know where to get the parts. i’m riding wr200 98. and i looking to build it up
eBay, Motosport, or Rocky Mountain!
greetings from Philippines,
You are missing a part in the shift assembly. It’s possible that your shifter has some slack in it, before putting the bike into gear. There is a missing washer…
You should do a 2000 rm 125
Came out real nice, how much money do you have in it? Minus the bike. About to do a yz myself.
Thanks
Awesome build! Nice job man! How long did it take you? Hours and weeks?
I never really keep track of hours; I'd like to but it's hard! This was a couple months overall. Of course a lot is waiting on parts.
What type of paint do you use for painting the frame and such?
how do you know what to torque all the bolt down to, especially with the crank/crankcase
I read the manual!
What hub/wheel combo is this? The 98 is the last year for that axle size so I’m struggling on how to fix my cracked wheel and broken spokes.
These are OEM hubs laced to O'Brien rims. I found the rims on eBay. I used Moose Racing spokes.
just get a sand blaster my g , it makes life so much easier
Check recent vids haha 🤙🏻
How much cost to rebuilt this bike?
21:13 what you came for
❤
What type of paint did you use on the coil spring?
PJ1 Yamaha blue!
@@KincadePavich thank you, it looks great.
I came here for the chick at the end🙋🏽♂️🙋🏽♂️🙋🏽♂️🙋🏽♂️
Did the model thumbnail not get enough clicks?
It s not a special paint for the suspension ?
Surprisingly I've never had paint crack or chip on a shock spring! It has worked great from my experience!
I’m just amazed how he turned into a girl at the end. 😮
Haha did you really cut the tire?
That thing was who knows how many years old and unbelievably hard! I saved some energy by cutting it haha
I have a 99 and 00 yz125
Also where did you get the Girl she is beautiful
Whee did you get the that fatty? Thanks 👍
