    Thank you for uploading these videos .. I'm 22 and moved to Normandy, France to live with my french GF in May. Couldn't speak a sentence in French properly, but now I can hold fluent conversations about almost anything, due to the fact I was lucky enough to get a customer service role in a supermarket dealing face to face with clients everyday.. I found that practicing everyday what I had read in books, with clients really helped me develop my listening and speaking skills. Also, coaching my GF to speak better English has made me realise that I know what it takes to learn a new language, I want to use those skills to help others. Your videos are really helpful and have given me the courage to pursue a venture in teaching English online.. Maybe in the future French too?! Just wanted to say thanks and keep it up. Regards, a fellow Englishman

I've never taught English before but I'm really passionate to teach it. Do I need a degree or a certificate to teach english?

    I just discovered this idea of teaching ESL online tonight. My bachelor's is in English Education 7-12; I did teach high school English for one year and did court reporting and mediation after that. Tonight I found your video and also a website called italki where they hook teachers up with students. I already have a Wordpress website -- well, a bunch of them, one business website and a whole bunch of the .com free websites, so setting up yet another website is no problem.
    So what's your opinion: fly solo, or work with an organization like italki? I'd like to hear what you think about the two ways to go. Sounds like italki takes 15% of what the teacher would be paid. Kind of like a finder's fee.

    Hi Jack... I'm not a native English-speaker, but I love the language. My dream is to make money while being surrounded by English and also help other people progress in it.
    Do you think I can do it? I've been learning English for almost 4 years now (Been in love with it ever since), and I'm at an advanced level. I wonder if I would still get enough students to make a living off of it (considering there are many native speakers out there teaching it for good rates)
    What do you think?

    • @teachingeslonline
      @teachingeslonline  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course. I know a bunch of non-native teachers who are doing very well. It's all about offering value and playing to your strengths. Get in touch through my site if you have further questions.

    hi jack.
    this is Nick from Canada.
    I'll make this short
    I've taught English online before.
    but only for free on skype
    to a man in Beijing.
    the results were remarkable.
    he now considers himself an expert.
    and I co wrote a technical paper with a woman from Brazil.
    it seems that I have the ability to understanding
    very poor English.
    and convert it into proper English.??
    I now have lots of time on my hands but I cannot find students.
    I'm very interested in subcontracting if you know of anyone?

    Hey Jack,
    I would like to write my math problems out on a board online while having my face visible. How would I do that? Please recommend any software. The intuo tab I think is what will give me the writing aspect. But I'm curious as to how the receiver would immediately see what's going on. I would prefer to set all this up manually with the video part covered either by google hangouts or skype.

    I'm a now 1 year high school graduate who is considering teaching online, and there seem to be a lot of platforms and companies that you can join as a teacher. Would having my own website be necessary if I wanted to join one of those companies or would that only be necessary if I wanted to be an independent teacher?

    • @teachingeslonline
      @teachingeslonline  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Lindsey Aibaengbee There are ways to teach online independently without a website. However, a website helps you get more learners.

    Hi Jack
    You said in your video that it is possible to run your own teaching website. Is this possible to find students with your own website and not signing with a company, for example ''VIPKIDS' etc? I am currently doing my TEFOL course, and will have my certificate to show. What is the link to your teaching website as I would love to learn more about starting your own teaching website rather than signing with a company.

    How do you schedule and charge students before class?

    • @teachingeslonline
      @teachingeslonline  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +amandalynnesl lynn There are different ways to do this. You could verbally agree on a time and then send them an invoice. Or you could use an online calendar.

    • @anaceciliasotomayor3290
      @anaceciliasotomayor3290 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That´s probably the hardest part. It is a pain to charge at the beginning, I teach in Perú in my own online business and they take ages to subscribe and program their classes. I practically need to be like a very annoying mom sending mails, messages and facebook and insta stories to remined them that a new month has started.
