Good review Love the sound of these basses Should have grabbed one when they were around for 3500 Ahhh the joys of getting old and remembering all the guitars, gear, and cars that were a dime a dozen..... Damn internet
@@timsarter5622 I think there is a pickup sensitivity adjustment pot in the cavity. Your bridge pickup also looks quite high, so you could try lowering it. Just be careful when you do this, because you need to follow the instructions from Alembic (it's really easy, but if you don't follow the instructions you could damage the pickup)
I want one of these but that selector right where you'd slap or strum it doesn't make sense with that positioning. hard to believe stanley played one with a knob there.
stuff like that is frustrating. when i try and slap like larry graham on my jazz bass, right over the neck pickup, i always end up catching the neck volume knob and turning the volume down
Cool, thanks for sharing! What amp and cabinet are you running it through? The amp looks like a Walter Woods to me, but I'm not sure about the cabinet. Thanks!!!
Good eye - it is a Walter Woods Blue Light. Been with me for over 20 years. The cab is an Ear Candy Bass Bomb 2x12. It’s a nice cab. It’s heavier than I like to gig with these days so it stays in my studio and I use it for practice. Was a nice Craigslist find.

Right??
In Stereo Mode you need a Y Cable to feed two different amps, or double input pre. If you use a mono cable, it gonna get only the neck PU.
Totally makes sense, but I don’t understand why the output of bridge pickup is so much hotter when you put it in stereo mode with a mono cable.

Great basses. My friend has a couple. A short scale something like that and a series 1 long scale. Great sounding instruments.
They are for sure. They have earned their reputation.
Thank you! Lovely bass :)
You are welcome.

I’d have to find a video that shows where he plays to decode that. Worked for me.

How can I buy an Alembic bass of the model Stanley Clarke uses (the red one)? Would you be able to inform me?
I’d call Alembic and talk to them.
@@timsarter5622 Thank you very much!
