One of the best-selling seven-seater SUVs in the Philippines, the Mitsubishi Montero Sport consistently ranks high on the list of the nation's best-selling vehicles each year. Together with stylish LED head and taillights, the Montero Sport boasts chrome linings that wrap around the massive air intakes and reach up to the fog lamps. Premium Montero Sport models' inside seats are covered in leather, while the GT model's has additional, more aggressive accents.
The driver and passengers are entertained and controlled centrally via an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The 2.4L four-cylinder DOHC 16V MIVEC Variable Geometry Turbocharged clean diesel powerplant that powers the Montero Sport is its engine. It also has Mitsubishi's Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control system (MIVEC), which is in charge of generating its low fuel consumption, low exhaust emissions, and high power output.
The Mitsubishi Montero Sport is offered in the Philippines with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, and it is built on a ladder-frame chassis. The 4N15 engine, a 2.4-liter turbocharged inline 16-valve diesel with 179 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque. To help you go above and beyond, the diesel engine also features the brand's Mitsubishi Valve Timing Electronic Control (MIVEC) technology and a Variable Geometry Turbo. Either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed Aisin automatic gearbox powers the SUV.
A double-wishbone with coil spring stabilizer bar suspension is used at the front of the Montero Sport, while a 3-link coil spring with stabilizer bar suspension is used at the back. Disc brakes are used everywhere to provide stopping force.
The Montero Sport is equipped with a number of cutting-edge features that are commensurate with its affordability and sleek appearance. The 7-seater SUV has an 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities as standard, and the higher trim levels come with an 8-inch LCD instrument meter display that gives it a more modern appearance. Additionally, features like Aux input and Bluetooth connectivity are common across the board. The majority of Montero Sport models also come with a Tomtom navigation system.
The Montero Sport has additional USB charging ports for the second row in addition to a motorized liftgate and hands-free technology for its GT grades. Additionally, for every trim level-aside from the GLX variant-a wall-style 220V socket is offered.
The GT 4WD variant also has Mitsubishi Remote Control capability, which allows you to link your smartphone with the car to operate some of its features. The remote control's features include opening and locking the tailgate, turning on and off the headlights, turning on the vehicle's hazard lights, opening and closing the power windows, starting and stopping the engine, setting reminders in case you forget to lock the car, and using its Car Finder function to locate the SUV in a parking lot.
The Dynamic Shield design language, which is also present in other Mitsubishi vehicles, is carried over to the Mitsubishi Montero Sport. LED daytime running lights, LED headlights, and LED taillights-which have been redesigned to be shorter than those on the model before the facelift provide the lighting. For the model lineup, they are also paired with halogen fog lights.
Montero Sport GT 4WD AT packs many safety features. A few of them are Anti-Lock Braking System, Brake Assist, EBD, Vehicle Stability Control System, Traction Control, Crash Sensor, Driver Airbag, Passenger Airbag, Curtain Airbags, Side Airbag-Front, Seat Belt Warning, Rear Seat Belts, Child Safety Locks, ISOFIX Child Seat Mounts, Parking Sensors, Rear Parking Sensors, Rear Camera, 360 Camera, Hill-Start Assist Control, Downhill Assist Control, Front Impact Beams, Side Impact Beams, Engine Check Warning, Electric Parking Brake, Blind Spot Monitoring system and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. A blind spot monitoring system, an ultrasonic misacceleration avoidance system, a forward collision mitigation system, Mitsubishi Active Stability and Traction Control, and a rear cross-traffic warning system are also included with the GT 4WD model.
