And if gets through that lava hole, he can use D-special again so he can just barely make it over those 3 lava walls, after which he can use his neutral special and a precise air dodge to finish the whole course

If you do down special and press b while holding down the move stick he jumps up without hitting the jump button like warios motorcycle. I think sonic can clear this course.
