Finally, someone who gets it lol. I've seen far too many people putting all the blame on Ongsa for denying the relationship, but Sun was also in the wrong for outing her (and Aylin and Luna, too) and ignoring Ongsa's clear discomfort. I get that she was frustrated, but Sun's writing in this episode was so odd. She's a kid, she's feeling insecure and she's going to make mistakes, I get that, but it felt like a weird choice despite her previous words of waiting for Ongsa to be ready to come out. The writing in this episode was pretty inconsistent, in my opinion. Sun mentioned the US program to Ongsa before, so I don't get why they made it seem like she was hearing about it for the first time. The conversations about them not knowing what happened to Aylin in the past was basically the same conversations and dialogue from episode 5. Aylin opening up should have been between her and Luna, and maybe Ongsa, Alpha and Sun if they wanted to make it a teaching moment. While there were a few good moments in this episode and a lot of amazing acting from everyone involved, it still fell a little flat for me.
Also, I want them to have Sun and Ongsa apologize to each other, especially Sun to Ongsa because she was way out of line and doesn't seem to realize that, but it seems the writers are going to make only Ongsa beg for forgiveness despite Sun outing her against her will, which is a shame. I adore Sun, but man do I wish the writers would have given us her POV these past few episodes and developed her character more so we can understand what's going through her mind, but there's only 2 episodes left so...I don't see it happening. This is still my favorite show at the moment, but the writing has disappointed me these last two episodes.

No matter how nice a person is, she can get angry depending on the situation. Sun is so devoted to Ongsa that he gave up his dream that he completely denied his love. From the moment we dated to the present. And she's also a teenager. She's not Mother Teresa

It's like they either wrote this episode first and didn’t edit it to match developments in episodes 1-9 or that they wrote it long after and forgot events and convos from before...
Honestly I’m just keeping this on in the bg to support because this episode frustrated me too much watching it the first time. 😅

i mean, this is the fourth time someone has been conversationally outed on this show that it just seems like they think "everyone is so accepting, why are we overthinking this?" because, earlier in ep4, charoen outed ongsa to tinh then instantly outed tinh to ongsa; in ep6, aylin outed ongsa (and technically sun) to luna; and in ep7, all of them essentially outed ongsa and sun to ton & mawin. though i do view sun outing aylin and luna just now as accidental because the look of surprise on her face made it seem like she assumed they already knew the two were together since they mentioned them having dinner together.
because sun is wrong in what she did, full stop, no ifs ands or buts. but she's still valid in her feelings. i think the only reason it seems everyone is more critical on sun doing it is because she did it in a moment of frustration whereas everyone else who did it was written off as "we're HELPING ongsa and sun get together, it's okay!" and we see someone being mad while doing something somehow worse than when someone else does the exact same thing but with "good intentions".
because, up until this point, sun has pretty much been the anchor holding this relationship up emotionally and mentally. every single time ongsa spiraled or self-sabotaged or something happened that put them on the rocks, sun immediately built her back up or centered them again. like, she pretty much instantly forgave her for lying/catfishing her for weeks if not months, always compliments and reassures her when ongsa refuses to talk to her, and even when everyone was doing the most to make her jealous she never made it ongsa's problem and just buried it to keep being nice to her. like, since she's recognized and accepted her feelings for ongsa (and honestly, even beforehand), sun has been 100% full steam ahead and no brakes for them to be together and to STAY together no matter what.
so it makes sense that after holding all that up for ages, seeing how well her own family/their friends took to her dating ongsa, to deciding to give up her dream for the girl she literally just professed her love to and then being told "no i want you to go anyway, don't tie our relationship to this", then immediately being denied twice to her face after it seemed like ongsa's parents were open to the idea, it all just kind of bubbled over for her and she tunnel-visioned on that moment and couldn't read the social cues anymore. like, you can see on her face the moment everything else faded away and she only could focus on what ongsa just said. again, she's 100% WRONG for doing it, no doubt about that because that should be done on ongsa's time and readiness, but it's understandable for a teen who is always praised for being so calm cool and collected to finally lose it when everything that was stacked up fell on her.
it's pretty well established that unless someone forces her to talk or sun brings it up first, ongsa won't start the tough conversations they need to have, and i doubt sun would have done it the way she did if they had a conversation earlier where ongsa was like "hey, i haven't talked to my parents about this yet". like they both focused on the exchange program secret, but i think the perfect time to talk about telling ongsa's parents would have been right after the dinner with sun's after ongsa did the whole "you're okay with your daughter dating a girl?" comment. but still, i think because ongsa just denied it so passionately, not even a "i might be dating someone" or "i have someone i like", on top of the insecurity of ongsa maybe throwing their relationship away so easily in her mind? sun just blew up.
also i'm just pretty sure ongsa will be less mad about this and beg to talk to her like we see in the preview because she'll probably be all "well, i did lie to sun about my identity for so long even though i had multiple chances to tell her the truth and never did until she was forced to find out by herself. not to mention she fell in love with that lie but still forgave me, so."

Definitely agree with everything you said. But just want to add my opinions on it a bit. I think Sun was for sure clueless in that moment when she outed AylinLuna's relationship to the parents but i think the parent's reaction to (AL)'s relationship wasn't any bad, just really surprised so she probably didn't feel like it would be a problem if Ongsa and her are dating. But her sort of lashing out was i think just the heat of the moment and feeling shock and hurt all over the place. And she might feel like she wants to give this relationship her all and Ongsa not wanting to tell her parents about the relationship probably made her feel some type of way. But I understand Ongsa still its just my thoughts. ITs definitely hard for them both

Ton is one of those characters I'd like to have to gotten to know deeper as well. Like he's "too much" but as you said his heart and mind are actually in the right place...

I totally agree with your thoughts on the OngsaSun and the parents situation. I also agree that Sun felt very out of character. In the book she is much more understanding towards Ongsa. However, in the book it is also made clear that Ongsa's mom is super homophobic, so Ongsa's reaction is a lot more understandable if you know that.

The writing this episode was not good. It felt like the writers had forgotten what happened the rest of the episodes because yes they have talked about the exchange program and also Sun had said in the previous episodes that if Ongsa wasn't ready that's fine but then she outed her to her family, got angry and people are mad at Ongsa? Also Sun said that going abroad is her dream but she is gonna give it up because Ongsa doesn't want to go? This will make Ongsa feel bad and that she keeps Sun from doing what she wants. We know Sun as a very understanding person so it just felt like she was out of character this episode. First Charoen outed Ongsa to Thin, now Sun outed Aylin and Ongsa. I don't know why this is so normalized in this show. In the next episode we will see them breaking up and Sun will be the one who is angry and sad and we are supposed to feel bad for her but not for Ongsa? Idk... I hope they fix things. I have noticed that in some gmmtv bls the writing gets poor in the last episodes and the ending feels rushed so i really hope the writing next episode gets better cause i really love 23.5 😩

I agree with you, but I think in moments like this its important to remember they are highschoolers after all. Outing people is obviously not okay. For the other things, at that age, it can be difficult to reason with clashes between feelings and reality and not letting emotions get the best of us.

not Luna and Ton pushing Aylin past her limits and disrespecting her boundaries and then acting all clueless on what is wrong. Ton even making a stupid convoluted graph like he is a psychology professor all of a sudden. and neither of them has apologised to Aylin for overstepping. they are acting like there is something wrong with Aylin. there isn't. she is a sweet neurospicy baby who is already quite obviously trying hard. she just needs time to adjust to her new social situation and her role in it. building relationships is not easy and requires time, patience and compassion.

I feel as though the Aylin storyline and the teachers’ storyline were the best parts of this episode, while the Ongsa/Sun storyline was more frustrating, and part, because neither of them seemed capable of expressing their feelings to each other. When Ongsa said she couldn’t go with Sun abroad and Sun asked her if she didn’t want to be with her, instead of explaining why she couldn’t go, she just said nothing. And then Sun seemed inexplicably impatient with Ongsa when it was clear she wasn’t ready to let her parents know (even though it was equally as clear from the way they took the information about Aylin and Luna they didn’t have a problem with it). In a way it felt like Sun was trying to rip off the metaphorical Band-Aid, but in a very clumsy and insensitive way.
On a different note, I’m watching five different GMMTV series at the moment, and the overlap of actors in different shows gets sort of bizarre, especially when the actors are playing such different characters in more than one show. And then having AJ in one (and eventually two) and JJ in two really gets mind-boggling.

Ep10 not a good script writing. Sun was out of charactor for sure. If writer wants to convince us, they should ve show how vulnerable Sun was. Sun was perfect then all of sudden going this? They should ve shown Sun's pov better. Sun is main charactor but so poorly written..

Not gonna lie, Sun outing Ongsa kinda ruined her character for me, I don't really feel excited about their storyline anymore. It's just wrong to out someone like that.
