Hadn't realised Cut Gate was so close to the Derwent Loop until a guy passing me in the week asked me if I was doing it on the unicycle. Think I may have to have a look next time I'm up :D
Man I hope the weather is fine this weekend. I gotta go out... I am also being making some videos on MTB and Cycling/Nature. If you want to check it please do so. Love your videos man....
Hi Glitchy Cool videos. I'm thinking about riding in GB next year. I am 47 years old, don't have real big stamina but love adrenaline. What region would you advise this Dutchy to travel to? And may I ask how many times you blew out the candles? ;-)
Hi mate. Have a look here... www.redbull.com/gb-en/best-uk-trail-centres-with-uplifts . I've been to Bike Park Wales, Cwmcarn, Forest of Dean and Fort William. Each are different and depend on what you're looking for so take a look at their websites. I've blown out a few less candles than you but not many.
A campaign has actually just been launched to raise the money needed to repair the boggy sections in a sensitive way! mendmountains.thebmc.co.uk/portfolio-item/cut-gate/
I'm a mountain biker but for some reason this video has made me think about environmental damage. Can see why paths get eroded and widened with churning up mud and leaving the path. Starting to wonder if the ecology of areas like this should take the toll for my pleasure. Seems selfish now I think about it.
It's a fair consideration and worthy of pondering for all outdoor activities in great areas like this. I've read many an article about what's worse...hikers, horses or bikers. Particularly when on foot...you'd probably take a wide berth around knee deep mud baths too. I'd like to think I stay on the trail as much as possible but perhaps that needs extra attention.
James Hatton there is currently a project to fix this path should be complete by 2021 All fundings from the MTBs community hopefully walkers will chip in
Don't worry about it bro, ice ages come in cycles, mountains erode naturally over time, it's a constant cycle of tectonic movement, constructive and destructive plates creating and destroying land, most of the life that has ever existed is extinct. Us and anything we do is just an insignificant blip to the earth!

Awesome ride and scenery, how long in the fall can you ride it before it gets too cold?
Not sure what you mean. Have a look at my Helvellyn ride in the snow! th-cam.com/video/CvdQNITFixY/w-d-xo.html
It's not so much about the cold as it is the bog of doom. At this point in the year it is essentially impassable.
That doesn't surprise me. It was pretty boggy in some sections in the height of summer.

You missed out the best part of the South decent, at the bottom you should have stayed right. It's steep and rocky but great fun .
Ahh nuts! I'll just have to go back.
Agreed and the north when you got to the fork (at north america) keep left and head down the steps to the river 😉
