I feel that Smith has suddenly started enjoying Trials again. There was a long period where Trott would just finish every race and 9/10 be the only one with Smith seemingly a little uninterested, but lately I feel he's getting into it a lot more now that he seemingly knows what he's doing and how to play.
The "gravitational constant" is a thing, but it's the constant that's used to calculate the gravitational force between two bodies. (This is where I push up the bridge of my glasses and speak in a nasally voice.) Obviously the force of gravity between a person and the Earth is a very different value than the gravitational force between a person and the moon.
123eldest I thought that set was quite entertaining last time. May have been the little player factoids by Chris Trott ("His favorite type of pepper is pepper"), though, mostly.
I know you'll probably never read this Trott, but you were close with the time dilation thing. It's actually gravity that affect time. I'm not going to get too much into it, but time 'flows' slower the closer a clock gets to a gravitational mass. Atomic clocks onboard aircraft are proven to run slightly faster, and GPS satellites actually need to have their clocks constantly corrected.
tathagathabuddha True, but the gravitational force created by the Earth is not constant anyway since the mass mass isn't perfectly constant. And if we're talking about the local gravitational acceleration then that also varies depending on the distance from the centre of the Earth.
tathagathabuddha I think that it is less caused by the proximity to a gravitational mass, but rather by the speed at which these objects are going. According to the equation is: t'=t/(sqrt(1-(v^2)/(c^2))). Trott was in fact correct, as this is known as time dilation. 123eldest is of course correct as the gravitational force is determined by (Gm1m2)/r^2
Well like I said, I didn't want to get too much into it, I didn't really want to go into any formulae or velocity-based time dilation. I wanted to try and keep it entry level. It is obviously a lot more complex than I initially stated. And I am honestly pleasantly surprised that there are such knowledgeable peeps watching these three fine gents. I thought I was going to get a bunch of "EAT SHIT" and penis-related responses.
there is a gravitational constant, G, but gravity (the force experienced as a result of gravity) is not constant, it depends on distance from object of interaction and mass of each subject.
Trott: (in anger) this is stupid, this is a stupid track Ross: I like it :) Of course you do lovely Rossy, we love you, you wonderfully special person XD Love you Hat films
I've spoken to RAF Merlin pilots who have said with certainty that helicopter crashes are safer. A merlin has three engines so control can be maintained in such a situation and they're normally closer to the ground.... that being said, 100% engine failure would mean I'd want to be in a fixed wing.
It has happened. Trott's reign of terror, winning, and 'leet skills' has at last come to a close. As we enter the new age under the cold, unrelenting eye of our new Trials leader, Alsmiffy, I can't help but feel...strangely aroused...huh.
interestingly helicopter don't fall from the sky when, for example, there engines cut out, they just glide down coz their rotors keep spinning because of there shape.
Jogi Bear The criterion by which a map is judged for the FUBA is usually a lack of checkpoints, which makes difficult maps excessively punishing to the player.
Gravity, for Trott's benefit, can be affected by concentrations of mass. According to E=mc2, this means it can also be affected by energy. Large concentrations of energy on a single point in space can warp the gravitational field of that space. This has been theorized to be able to create wormholes, although it would take far more energy than our sun could ever produce and stay stable.
I had a dream last night I was in a shop buying a rick and morty t-shirt and when smith mentioned the show I had a weird flashback moment, fucking just got mindfreaked.
"Who's in front right now?" It's not like the faults of the players also shows who's in which position... I thought you were better, Trott, I thought you knew this game!
for fucks sake smith... this is the only game trott is good at... he might be a prick but give it to him... at least on trials... i mean he is such a try hard... dont make him cry :D :P (i actually dont dislike trott)
I had a zero fault run on eye of the strom and I was at 55 seconds right at the end... just before the end checkpoint I got a nasty case of front wheel bite
You wanna be in a helicopter crash yo. The way a helicopter is designed means if the engine fails it will just fall down gently like a sycamore seed which is called auto gyration I think? THE MORE YOU KNOW!!!
Hat Films on a few episodes of Harmontown Dan Harmon explains how the documentary slowly became a film about Spencer, not so much Dan. I won't lie though, I got a mild chub hearing you guys talk about Harmontown/Dan Harmon. Crossovers galore.
One of the leaders of reddit actually suicided. He was on Facebook once on his schools wifi and the government found out ( somehow, I don't know) and pressed him to spill some personal information of some of the users, since there's a lot of hackers that use the site, and he killed himself because of the pressure he was under
Time dilation is actually due to gravity. But yeah, gravity does differ depending on where you are. On earth, it differs slightly, but it remains in the ball park of 9.81ms^-2. Else where in the universe, gravity can be weaker, or so strong that light cannot even escape its pull (a black hole). Sorry, i just felt like i had to point that out xD
Ryan Poole I hate to be the picky one, but as someone who enjoys studying the realm of physics I hate to point out that it is 9.8ms^2 not ms^-2. I don't even know where the ^-2 would come from while talking about gravity. Respectfully.
I genuinely don't know so I'm not attempting to sound sarcastic; is it a fact that black holes have such a strong gravity that light can't escape it, or is it a theory?
Helicopter crash every day of the week. Less people and more likely to die. If I was in a commercial plane and some people died and I survived I'd feel like shit. Also, the screams of that many other people would stress me out far more than a guy trying to control a helicopter.
Hat Films videos are the ones I look forward to most during my week.
Getting over 30 minutes of Trials is, in a word, DELIGHTFUL.
So true!! I only really laugh when watching them! 😄
Yeah, he _is_ my favorite.
My god, when both Smiffy and Ross said "Go on" at 27:30 at the same time was amazing.
omg i rewinded and died :D

It's 2021 and we're still waiting for that track making live stream.
35 minutes of MLG Trials play and epic bants!
All you have to do to change gravity is stand up. There you go, your head is now experiencing marginally less gravity than it once was.
I wonder if thats one of the bridges Sips has to build.
Chris C ahahaha this is great!
With help from Bon Jovi ;)
Filf bridge, Filf bridge..
SMITH WON!? I think it's time for Trott to move to Alaska and life the rest of his life as a hermit in eternal shame.
"I thought the ghost was me."
Sixth Sensing it.
That part at the end was great and the part when that thing happened and Ross said that XD can't stop laughing
I legitimately enjoy when they talk about deeper stuff, actually look forward to it in these videos. Thanks lads :)

OMG How did you do it? the hex is broken! Alsmiffy Trails King!
***** ALL HAIL THE TRIALS KING!
Ross oughta decide on the maps from now on. Maybe even be the only one allowed to use the optimal vehicle.
I think we need fifa on this channel so Ross can actually win somthing
your nan Ross wins but we all lose then.
Truss is actually the best player in the world, the illuminati just cover it up to make him look shit because they want French lizard man to beat him.
123eldest I thought that set was quite entertaining last time. May have been the little player factoids by Chris Trott ("His favorite type of pepper is pepper"), though, mostly.
your nan They played fifa a while back, was pretty funny :)
To be fair, Smiffy had two Panda tracks to get up 40 points on Trotty
In wisconsin you can actually buy chocolate flavored cheese... its pretty good
The universe much have imploded. Someone else won! Run for the hills!
ladymulti Yeah I can't believe Ross made that amazing comeback and won.
Peter Taylor Yeah totally; it was great. ;)
Peter Taylor I'm always amazed when Ross comes out on top... Awesome to listen to, but the worst at gameplay sometimes... lol
ladymulti run for your liiffee
anyone? no?okay?
ladymulti Spoilers!!!
I quite liked that one with all the rockets and the big bridge
I love listening to this late at night. I get so tired I trip out and start seeing scary trott gremlins running around my room!
Rip Mr Satoru Iwata
Trott.exe has stopped working. Have you considered updating to the new and improved Smiffy.wav.
Razza Clarke More like Smiff.wank.
8:54 Kobe
Survival rate for a plane crash is actually ~95%
David Dalmatian But which kind? Commercial, helicopter, private?
gajbooks BIRD? wait what...
gajbooks All plane (not helicopter) crashes across the board
I don't usually do this, I literally watched the whole video and it flewww by.

tathagathabuddha I'm glad we surprised you, in that case :)
23:40 Welcome to the future. Man, machine, the fusion
Smith, you can't just declare yourself a member of the panda boys led by nfen!
Pretty sure sparklez is the orginal panda boy. IT'S YERRR BOY!
there is a gravitational constant, G, but gravity (the force experienced as a result of gravity) is not constant, it depends on distance from object of interaction and mass of each subject.

Love you Hat films
I can't stop laughing at Trotts body going into the bike
Smiffy referencing Father Ted with the "Go on, go on, go on."
Wow, this talk of Reddit really dates the recording of this episode. XD
Harrison Ford has survived both a helicopter crash and a plane crash.
Gravity is related to the mass of the planet/astronomical body so it isnt constant
Long live King Smithy! Long live king Smithy! Who liberated the people from Trotts reign of terror!
34:15 200-odd episodes and two separate games in, and they STILL don't understand the scoring system...
I've spoken to RAF Merlin pilots who have said with certainty that helicopter crashes are safer. A merlin has three engines so control can be maintained in such a situation and they're normally closer to the ground.... that being said, 100% engine failure would mean I'd want to be in a fixed wing.
This is a good episode. Like.
They're really MILKING these jokes amiright? heheh
Hello? Anyone?...
Yeah, Joe. F**k off mate!
DAVE DAVE Penguins. Dolphins are rapists.
Joe Waring That joke was _BULLSHIT._ Ha look dad I made a pun are you finally proud of me?
"HA you've got poopie in your mouthhh" Love it
Old Stotty lost? uninstall m8

interestingly helicopter don't fall from the sky when, for example, there engines cut out, they just glide down coz their rotors keep spinning because of there shape.
No helicopters fall down planes glide
they dont though
35 minutes!? IT'S CHRISTMAS IN JULY!
hey, im new, what is fuba? is it meant to be fubar????
Jogi Bear The criterion by which a map is judged for the FUBA is usually a lack of checkpoints, which makes difficult maps excessively punishing to the player.
ah ok, thx eveyone xD
bjam89 ThePals It's not for shitty tracks. It's for any track that lacks important checkpoints or have none of them at all.
Falafel true... which make them kind of shitty. :)
ThePals There are really good tracks that can get a fuba award.
But smith? did he? really? hallelujah!
A plane crash would be much preferable to a helicopter because a plane can powerlessly glide.

I really REALLY hope "hey it's mikel" becomes a recurring thing.
i miss when you guys would have your Movie Talk during games like this :(
35 minute video!!!
Are you guys alright?
I believed in your, Trott! YOU LET ME DOWN!
what happened to hatpack and hat corp
being livestreamed
Beer Bear Did you even watch them?
Callum Doyle Have they actually livestreamed it yet?
exactly
Whats their twitch called?
To be fair, Dan appears to be a therapy success. That said, Smiff's not wrong.
Longer video, you magnificent bastards
Jack B there is only room in this world for one magnificent bastard
and that is sips
Curt Dovahkiin amen to that
Curt Dovahkiin i hope i'm not the only one to notice your lowercase sentence. bravo, good man - bravo.
Sam Faulk
i don't like holding shift
Curt Dovahkiin I remain faithfully Sips'
Pretty sure they've done that Swamp Sightings map before.
"Who's in front right now?"
It's not like the faults of the players also shows who's in which position...
I thought you were better, Trott, I thought you knew this game!
Smith always had it in him, he was just never ready to crush Trott's hopes and dreams. #goodguysmiffy
I'm deeply saddened by the lack of discussion on chocolate or cheese
What about the wine
The bikers look like they're wearing an ant man suit! Lol
So a helicopter is more likely to recover before crashing... but a plane is less fatal if it actually crashes I imagine.
The trials curse has been lifted
Finally, THE FUBA HAS ARRIVED
My cat did a shit in her litter box
Opens video
'OH MY GOD WHAT IS THAT SMELL'
for fucks sake smith... this is the only game trott is good at... he might be a prick but give it to him... at least on trials... i mean he is such a try hard... dont make him cry :D :P (i actually dont dislike trott)
It's so strange hearing one thing I love talking about another.
The scottish singing was fuckin amazing xD
Harmon is what i like to call a Guilty Victim
I'm surprised Ross knows about auto-rotation. Good job Ross.
When Axl Rose was mentioned all I thought was 'give us some reggae!!'
the cycle has been broken
I farted and then started watching this video. Then Ross shouted: "Oh my god, what is that smell?!"
That was pretty weird.
Tmi
I had a zero fault run on eye of the strom and I was at 55 seconds right at the end... just before the end checkpoint I got a nasty case of front wheel bite
On a chocolate and cheese note, Chocolate and Mascarpone soft cheese is pretty good.
2:50 OMFG TROTT ITS NOT FUCKING WORKING DO SOMTHING ELS!!!!
Good mornin
Will they do anything other than trials and GTA
And smiffy is never to be seen again
what platform are they playing on? I bet on the old Atari on which was launched ET :)
can you record rooss and smith aswell
Trott, tell me what name smithy uses when he plays dota so i can avenge you by just playing techies all day errrday against him
Is there a vlog for America?
You wanna be in a helicopter crash yo. The way a helicopter is designed means if the engine fails it will just fall down gently like a sycamore seed which is called auto gyration I think? THE MORE YOU KNOW!!!
Who ever is in charge of reddit, oh how soon you guys spoke. Steve is here.
Only reddit army will get this
420 bro army power land sharks
the music is a bit loud on the background
Hat Films on a few episodes of Harmontown Dan Harmon explains how the documentary slowly became a film about Spencer, not so much Dan. I won't lie though, I got a mild chub hearing you guys talk about Harmontown/Dan Harmon. Crossovers galore.
You should patent Flat Balling

what tune were they singing??
OOOOO SO RANDY
D-did... someone else... WIN?!
WHAT IS THIS?!
how is cape canaveral not right?
And it turns out that Smiffy is The French Guy...
Trott lost!? Instantly stopped following him on Twitter. I'm gonna follow Smith instead now.
Markell1991 I tried to follow them all, but Ross blocked me for some reason and I'll never know why.
That's not Ross...
What does Fuba stand for?

Light is effected by gravity so yes light is unable to escape blackholes
Cats Purrsson We don't know exactly what Black Holes even are, so anything about them is just a theory or speculation.
MD72A
Aight, cheers. :D
I think I liked Smiff's track choices a lot better than Trott's. Much more variety.
