nausicaä was the daughter of king alkinoös as told by homers odyssey, the girl found odysseus stranded on the beach and takes him to her house where odysseus tells about the fantastical events he encountered on his journey it is quite interesting how the story is constructed like that because the things he tells are rather unrealistic but as far as i remember everything that happens in the present timeline of the story is. I havent seen this movie, but the name nausicaa made me curious
You haven't seen Nausicaa Valley Of The Wind?? It's a masterpiece by all means of the word, in almost every way it is amazing and unique, it's just such a beautiful movie with such a beautiful OST and such an amazingly beautiful Main Character.
Also I like Homers Odyssey but I haven't read that or at least a part of it since I was a kid, I like that story but had forgotten about Nausicaa from that story, possibly the name of the character could've been based off of the one from the Odyssey.
I absolutely loved the manga, but could never really get to like to movie as it didn't do the complete story justice. This fits so well with Nausicaä though, thank you for interpreting it :)

ナウシカはスタジオジブリという団体を作った初めの作品。それは日本の阿佐ヶ谷という駅で約1年間で作られた。
阿佐ヶ谷という駅は、今でも昭和の趣がある町で、当時と変わらない建物や風景が沢山残る町です。
とはいっても観光するような所も余りなく、下町という分類に入るでしょう。
今では中々当時の作品を映画館の様な大スクリーンと音響設備では観れなくなり、今の人は大半は観たことが無いでしょう。
ジブリ作品をもし映画館で観る機会があれば、是非一度観て欲しいです。
CGの使われていない、絵画のような色彩の鮮やかさが、動画として成り立っている唯一無二のアニメです。
