Tesla Model 3 - Setting up Fast Wireless Charging

In this video, I show you what I didn't like about the Tesla Model 3 USB setup, the products I purchased to solve them, and how I ran a cable down the side of the center console to add fast charging to the front.

Thanks much for this! I finally switched my 2018 Model3 to wireless w/ Taptes, as my new phone+case didn't fit in the old dock/cable any more :(
This video was a great help... per great suggestion comment below, I ran 2 micro-USB cables instead of A extenders, 1/2" drillbit hole was enough to fit the smaller end thru...
I also drilled down two small little support ridges in the middle by cupholders where yours got blocked, then I could fit both cables w/o making the trim stick out. Worked great.
I also got 2 left+right angle USB adapter cables, so the 2 USBs sticking out of the 12v charge adapter didn't bump into the console cubby. That gives a bit of extra length for the micro-USB cables as well

Thanks for the video. I looked up a couple of others and neither showed where they drilled or notched it, so this really helped. Seeing that you had issues fitting the cover over top the wires, I think I'll try using flat USB cables and see if that makes a difference.

You can also get usb a to micro usb cables that go right in to the charging pad. (Drilled holes can be smaller if that matters).

Yeah, I wanted the flexibility though of having just the extension cord going though, so I can change either side easily later.

Can also charge Apple Airpods on that pad.

I’m going to do this on the driver’s side because the cigarette lighter is on that side. I hope to get cables more out of the way.

You did not have to drill that huge hole in the front - could have just run the small side of the cable from the inside to the outside.
