    I love how Matt throws Bullseye to his death out of a stained glass window after denies his last pleas for mercy in his church. What a good Catholic boy

      HAHA yeah, I didn't even catch onto that Matt threw Bullseye out in a church of all places 😂 and oh my gosh, the Dad's death does resemble the Rober Pattinson meme. I'll never look at this the same now. And yes, the childhood bullies are honestly the most evil antagonists in the entire movie tbh. Those guys had no chill or sympathy for him lol.
      I loved your analysis about the differences between Matt's accident though! We do see him as someone to be pitied, which is something that Matt hates. Which makes the opening of matt single handedly beating those criminals up by the pier in the first episode even better. Him saving the old man off screen does create way more sympathy for Matt; whereas, the 2003 version just has it happen to him. I didn't even think about it like that, and somehow, I appreciate the Netflix version even more now. Thank you for that haha.
      Honestly, would have love to have read an entire essay from you about this haha. Your comments are always so insightful! I love reading themm.
      Also, I actually haven't read any DD comics yet, but I really want to get into them now. Do you have any recommendations? 👀

      @@Machuw Highly recommend starting with the Man W/O Fear series by Frank Miller.. He basically updated Matt's origin and it's similar to the Netflix series.

      Any dea of where to find a list of all of the DD comics in order? I have read some of Frank Miller's run (digitally thru the library, alas). The library doesn't have all of them, sadly. Even then, it's hard for me to figure out exactly what order to read the comics in since there are different authors and maybe different collections of some of the same works? I'm not sure...I'm just confused but I want to go in order! @HishamA.N_Comicbroe

    Man is it great to see a reviewer who can have fun with a movie even if its a bit silly. I love my cynics and snobs too but its still always great to see positive takes.

    The main bully who bullies young Matt is AJ from The Sopranos, which is wild. This film came out between the 4th & 5th seasons of The Sopranos, too.

    • @beksc9209
      @beksc9209 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes! It's so annoying how people keep saying that DD in the greater MCU is "more comic book accurate." Like, yeah, so?! Since Disney is using Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock and has accepted the Netflix show as canon (I think), The Mouse really needs to stick with the Netflix show's interpretation of the character. Not that Matt can't be more acrobatic (like the She-Hulk clip where he falls backward and kips up to avoid a punch; that was cool), but he should NOT be dancing down the side of a skyscraper like he's not grounded in reality. He may be the Man Without Fear, but that doesn't he mean he takes stupid, unnecessary risks. Especially now that he has friends who would be pissed with him for injuring/killing himself so stupidly, not to mention heartbroken if he did die. Or got himself paralyzed. On that note: he should also be more careful because it would really suck for him if he ended up paralyzed, listening to the screams of Hell's Kitchen and no longer able to go out and fight.

    The consensus panning of Daredevil didn't truly start until after the release of a series of better comic bok movies like Batman Begins, Thor, Captain America: the First Avenger and finally Iron Man. By 2008 the MCU was ready for takeoff and Daredevil was regularly showing on cable. The comparisons was not favorable to say the least but in 2003 Daredevil was dope. It even topped the box office for a few weeks. I still enjoy it flaws and all.

    ofc it had it's mid-2000's cheezyness but i feel like just the change of matt not killing, wouldve made the movie alot better story wise (at least in terms of matt's internal conflict)

    • @Machuw

      Yeah, having Matt not kill should be a must in his character, especially with his religion. But having him murder people despite his internal conflict kinda makes it funny since it makes no sense though at least 😂

    Not to be funny, but the cgi acrobatics was one of my favorite parts. Not sure how old you are, but as a kid that looked pretty awesome. I agree the park scene is very cheesy, but outside of that, the film still holds up. It’s n not MCU quality, but I’d still give it a 6.5/10. Not just that, the soundtrack worked in the early 2000’s. Maybe not now, but it did.

    When I saw the movie I saw the directors cut and then I saw the regular one so the difference are Bulls-eye dose not say Fuck and in the bar scene a woman flashes a man by lifting her shirt to show her privates which is not in the regular one which makes the directors cut R, and yes there is a few deleted scenes in it too.

    I watched this Daredevil for the first time and it was worse than I heard about. The story is bland, the editing so choppy, the music so bizarre, and Ben Affleck was not interesting as Matt Murdoch. Bullseye was the only saving grace with that OUTRAGEOUS performance 😂😂. Great review
