ive done keto for 4 months with no exercise eating a ton of cheeseburgers with keto buns ive lost nearly 120 pounds. Its not necessarily the low fat meat that helps but depends on how your body processes food. I do 73/27 myself. The amazing part is my HDL was 26 and LDL was 225, Now its 38 and 192. Just a tad out of range but eating fatty hamburgers is also lowering my cholesterol weirdly enough.
@Sambam1981 Basically, it's just eating less calories than you use each day. Right now, to cut, I eat lunch and dinner 900 cals each meal, and only snacks if my lunch or dinner was under the goal. To help avoid being hungry, I try to stick to stuff I can eat volume but is lower in calories, chicken, shrimp, rice, broccoli, salads. I don't worry too much about macros, but try to keep them balanced. Some research suggests eating more protein while keeping fat and carbs close to equal is more impactful on weight loss. I was shocked how easy it was to stick to being in a deficit after getting through the first week and finding things you can eat in volume to stay full while your stomach adjusts.
Just walk on an incline treadmill for 30-45 minutes and a decent speed. Maybe some air squats, wall sits, stuff that hurts but is low impact and good for your core and burns a ton. No need for all the BS weights.10k steps a day can be a goal.
Just tried making these. Prepped enough for 6 of them and had one a day. They’re really good and were a fat loss plateau buster for me. Will definitely try making these again.
Never thought I’d be taking macro suggestions from Josh but this is right up my alley… something easy to prep and satisfies my burger craving. Thank you sir!
I became mondo addicted to this pepper dish but it takes like 4-5 hours to prep. It looks and kinda tastes like eating tomato bisque if seasoned properly. Your body literally can’t hold onto any of it. Throw a bunch of different peppers into an oven griddle until soft and peel all the skin off and throw the raw pulp into a food processor. All that literally takes a whole fuggin afternoon. But holy crap it’s good. And good for you. There’s no room for any kind of bs.
@@kellywilson137 it is in fact gym bro talk 😂 Macros is short for macro nutrients. Aka Carbs Fat Protein that makes up your caloric intake. Josh wrote down the macros but his calorie count is off
That's pretty awesome, thanks Josh. As someone who also lost 60 pounds and has kept it off...it requires a lifestyle change to stay there. And part of that lifestyle is finding food that is satiating, satisfying AND nutritionally not a bomb. And that means re-inventing your favorites to pack more nutrition and less calories into something that makes you happy. Plus, it's difficult to get enough protein! This looks like a great recipe, thanks! More is always appreciated!
Also, try to eliminate the term "dieting" from your vocab. The only way to keep the weight off is to make recipes like this the new "real thing" as you say!
or you know. . just burn more calories than you are putting in and no need to make much major change to your food intake other than for the over consumers of sugar, alcohol, and dairy products.
@@bbrill9886 I almost agree actually. I'd add absolutely no soda whatsoever. I'd recommend not eating vegetable oil instead of dairy. Dairy has calcium for if your active. Exercising helps control weight and helps with health problems. Burning more calories than what you put it is technically not accurate. It does however prevent your body using calories on stupid stuff like creating anger hormones.
I’ve lost a good amount of weight this year. The biggest thing that helped me was finding lower-calorie (but still good-tasting) versions of things I eat a lot. For example, I eat a lot of sandwiches so I found bread that’s only 40 calories per slice and still tastes pretty good, vs the bread I was eating before that was like 120+ calorie per slice. It is smaller per portion than most sliced bread, so it’s not like you’re bypassing eating less. It just makes it easier to eat fewer calories when it’s already portioned out like that. I also found cheese that’s sliced very thin that’s also only 40 calories per slice. Again, makes it much easier to make the same thing but use less calories. You save money this way too.
Nice! I love to see leaner recipes being made. Way too often the elite chefs make something that looks good but have NO CLUE about the macros. You can also make a slurry with some corn starch, baking soda, soy sauce, and worcestershire sauce and use that to velvet the ground beef. Set aside to rest for 15-20 minutes after mixing a few tablespoons in with a pound of ground beef and you'll end up with beef that will brown beautifully without overcooking the interior and which remains moist and tender.
I tried this with 4 patties, two with no slurry and two in the ingredients you described above. The difference was night and day. The browning was incredible on the velveted patties and they were much easier to scrape from my cast iron. Make sure not to add extra salt if you use a lot of soy sauce! They're plenty salty already!

Protein supplements with some sort of green powder. A protein supplement is roughly 120 calories on the high end and 25-30g protein. Green powder just gives it some flavor if you have pure whey protein with no flavoring in it.

These are example days of food(things I have eaten over the past 6 months): 4 skin on chicken thighs, covered in pepper and fresh lemon juice 3 big beef patties with muenster cheese A full rack of plain baked pork ribs A big slab of pork or lamb shoulder, oven roasted with two baked potatoes and butter(my fav meals so far) A big pork or beef steak with a romaine salad and Caesar dressing Two halves of an acorn sqash baked with ground sausage and cheese stuffed in it An apple and gouda cheese for a snack Whipped unsweetened rendered suet mixed with berries(actually really tasty, prob my fav dessert now)
Wait, what do you mean exactly? I haven't seen any literature saying you can't lose weight using keto, and that guy never specified that you lose more weight on keto than a traditional calorie or sugar-restriction diet. Unless they edited the comment?
Walmart has a keto hamburger bun thats 50 calories and , I believe, 5 or 6 grams of protein, along with fat free sliced cheese at 30 calories each, been making these things forever
Why would you want fat free cheese? What’s up with everyone afraid of fat. Without fat you die, your brain is made of fat your cells are made of fat. Fat isn’t what makes people overweight processed carbs are what make people overweight. Tons of people do keto diets high in fat and they loose tons of weight
It's not the fat in the beef that makes one fat. It is the carbs and sugar. Also, the quality of beef matters. Ideally you want grass fed, organic, non GMO, yadda yadda, yadda. There are healthy fats that actually burn fat. It's the carbs sugars and sugar like and substitute sugars that are ruining people's lives and health. And Mazel tov on your success. And of course, not to negate anything you said here. If it works for you, it works for you and definitely keep doing what you're doing.

I've been doing this for 7 months, no joke the best way to stay thin. I am 6'3 190lbs. And I can eat a lot. I just replace breakfast for a small cup of really potent black coffee, then have a small lunch like a peanut butter and butter samdwitch to kill my appetite. Dinner I eat arround 4:30 I eat up to 2 burgers with mayo, mustard, hot sauce, and a cup of milk. I eat lots of other things, but this is the majority of my week.
If you use Velveeta instead of cheese, you might get better macros, also add a bit of Greek yogurt and that will boost the protein in the sauce... Add some air fried potato slices and you won't feel that you're in a cut...
I use 93% Grass fed from Aldi often. Adding a little avocado oil into the meat before you form the patties will help keep it from drying out as bad... still don't overcook it.
Looks delicious! Yum!! But as a carnivore dieter, I definitely need more fat or my stools will be painfully hard! We don't store the excess fat we eat. If it can't be broken down and burned for fuel because we've used up all our bile, the body will just excrete it, which keeps the stools soft.

@@kilgore_trout_37 Got a full recipe my guy? that sounds amazing, thanks!
@kilgore_trout_37 I'm definitely screenshotting this for later
Love this video!! Also congrats on your weight loss!! AWESOME 🎉🎉!!!
Idc how old this is. Keep doing your thing to oldschool beats its mesmerizing.
More of theeeese pleaseeee!! Having a hard time getting protein in my diet and staying under 1,400 cal at the same time!
How much do you weigh?
@@robgronkowski947 currently 187 lbs, down from 226 lbs at the beginning of the year. Some progress, but food has always been an issue 😅
I eat a lot of yogurt to help get more protein, also there's a lot of protein heavy options out there! beans is also a good choice
Protein supplements with some sort of green powder. A protein supplement is roughly 120 calories on the high end and 25-30g protein.
Green powder just gives it some flavor if you have pure whey protein with no flavoring in it.
1,400? Unless you're less like 10 years old, THAT IS NOT ENOUGH. NOT FOR AN ADULT HUMAN
Congrats on the weight loss Joshua, good on ya!
Currently been dieting since May and as a fan of your content, I was hoping for the day you’d make a video like this. Would love to see more high protein/healthier/lower cal versions of meals like this!
Got that Biggie playing in the background Dope🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Salute and bless good brother happy holiday
Thank you! Keep these beautiful healthy tips coming! ❤🎉
I've made this every day this week... it's legendary! Make more of these videos!
For like a whole 10 extra calories you can slip a lettuce leaf, onion slice or tomato slice in there for extra fullness. At this point, I always stick a handful of fresh mixed greens in whatever sandwich esque creation I concoct in the kitchen.
Vegetables are not needed and overated, especially uncooked.
That burger looks delicious 😋
I'd love this as a series!!
Dave's killer bread is expensive but... I'm a felon that got a second chance. I fully support them and WOW is it good bread. If you don't know what I'm talking about, look them up.
Dave's everything bagel is one of my favorites. Its really hearty. I typically do half a toasted bagel with cream cheese and smoked sliced salmon on top. Delicious and filling.
@@Trusty_Shellback Dude, Dave's Killer Bread is.... Killer. There's no better thick sandwich bread, bar none.
this video is an absolutely cursed example of style at the expense of usefulness. wow dude, cool how you timed the text of the sauce recipe to the music, thanks, now it's impossible to read it before it disappears!
30g light mayo
40g siracha
30g mustard
and salt and pepper
you just suck at reading fast bro
You can press space bar to pause the video
@@941books2 yeah, no. you're not going to be able to do that the first time around. maybe you can get the timing right after a few loops. at which point he's already gotten extra viewing time which benefits him algorithmically.
@@classicmax794 Well, I can do it. There is also a red slider bar at the bottom. You can slide to any point.
@@941books2 that must be a relatively new feature because i have tried to do that before and couldn't. it's still bad video design if there are people who don't know they can do that.
Very nice. I like showing the macros at the end. Everyone should do it 👍
Cheeseburgers are my all time favorite food and it might sound weird but I get tired of "wet" burgers after so much time. Its more about the seasonings, sauces and toppings a lot of times
these ppl like a mountain of grease and talking about its juicy..yeah artery clogging juice..I agree you can have a good burger without all that excess grease components and not be so called dry
I lost weight by just cutting out grains and sugar. Went from 210lbs(I am 5'1") to 155lbs. Also I stopped being bloated constantly and I no longer have acid reflux that makes me wake up with vomit in my mouth. Also I don't feel groggy and my stomach feels nice and light now. So it's pretty good I'd say.
These are example days of food(things I have eaten over the past 6 months):
4 skin on chicken thighs, covered in pepper and fresh lemon juice
3 big beef patties with muenster cheese
A full rack of plain baked pork ribs
A big slab of pork or lamb shoulder, oven roasted with two baked potatoes and butter(my fav meals so far)
A big pork or beef steak with a romaine salad and Caesar dressing
Two halves of an acorn sqash baked with ground sausage and cheese stuffed in it
An apple and gouda cheese for a snack
Whipped unsweetened rendered suet mixed with berries(actually really tasty, prob my fav dessert now)
Hey well done on the hard work!
Great job.
Coulda just said "keto diet" though. XD
155 is still overweight and 210 at 5’1 should make you a bowling ball
Wait, what do you mean exactly? I haven't seen any literature saying you can't lose weight using keto, and that guy never specified that you lose more weight on keto than a traditional calorie or sugar-restriction diet. Unless they edited the comment?
Suet ? That’s freaking disgusting
I know it wasn’t product advertising but seeing Dave’s killer bread really brought joy, the family that runs that company are amazing
Walmart has a keto hamburger bun thats 50 calories and , I believe, 5 or 6 grams of protein, along with fat free sliced cheese at 30 calories each, been making these things forever
They used to have a flat bread bun that was 45 calories 😂
The Keto Culture buns? Those even contain 5g protein per bun and only have 125mg sodium. Fabulous!
@@fandhtwoohs8129 yes those are the ones! Use those, they're pretty decent
If you are doing keto and eating fat free, you’re a moron
100%! Carnivore here for 7 months and i fully agree. And 95%/5% beef tastes like shoe leather. bleh
Our brains rely on beef fats to function and survive. The lack of these fats the last couple decades is why alzheimers and dementia appeared.
Ah man I feel like Joshua and I started chadding ourselves at the same time and I'm all here for his macro friendly receipe era.
I Lost 170 Lbs On Ozempic… I Went From 440 to 270 In About 2 Years… Still Workin’ For My Target Weight Of 180… Love You Lots!!! Homie Dearest! Hugs & Bugs! Happy Halloween Everyone! Big Ups! ‘96
Ozempic..... really

@thebarbs3485 true I guess. I've lost 42 lbs with a combination of keto/intermittent fasting. High protein high fat and low to no carbs. I lost 20 in the first 6 weeks and 42 total in 4 months
@thebarbs3485 and here's the kicker....
I didnt quit or slow down drinking at all. Just switched to alcoholic seltzer. (Not vodka seltzer) since it has lower carbs
Josh thank you so much i made this for my wife tonight and we fucking loved it . We are neck deep in a wieght lost journey and these were soooooo go
From papa to daddy
Torchy’s tacos but better plz
That won’t be very hard lol
You look frigging amazing bruv 💪🏽 congrats on the weight loss
More high protein stuff Josh!! It’s a gold mine of content for you
I’ve just started my weight loss journey so I just wanna say thanks man!
Tried this tonight, whole family loved them!!
I’ll try it out. Currently make a plain cheeseburger using 93 ground beef, fat free cheese slices, toasted buns, and air fried steak cut fries. I dropped over 100lbs finding recipes for foods I love that are more calorie friendly and higher in protein and fiber.
Amazing health tips! Thanks! Cant wait to get healthy again!
Dave's Killer Bread is the shit. Love all their products. Making egg, ham, and cheese sandwiches on their everything bagels is amazing.
Man, look at those arms. You’ve been doing a little bit more than losing a few pounds. Great job all around!
The idea of making 1 single burger is great. How about some tricks on timing to make 4-6 burgers at the same time the same way?
Congratulations on the weight loss! This looks pretty simple, might give it a shot.
I opened the video on mute so I didn’t hear what you said and my first thought was “omg he looks so fit. I can tell he lost some weight even in his face!” And after I heard you say you lost 60 lbs. congratulations dude. that’s incredible and reflects a whole world of discipline and hard work, especially as a culinary content creator. Truly a role model.
I'm sorry to hear you lost 60 pounds, hopefully you get by until you get your earnings!
Wow, good stuff! Macros, i am impressed. More of this please!
As someone who struggled to loose weight for 10 years but finally lost 60lbs, consistency truly is the game changer
Haha honestly love seeing this version of you, health is true wealth!
I’ve been a bodybuilder for the past five years and I never get to enjoy your food. Brother you would change my life with a but healthier playlist.
Those macros are crazy for something that looks so delicious
What buns did you use? It went too quick and I couldn't see the name of them in the pause
Looking good player. Been a while since you’ve come up on my feed. You’ve lots some weight. Keep at it brother.
I recently gained 16 pounds.... because summer. So I'm living for this content Josh!
60# Bro!! Good for you ! Down 70 Here to 210 ! Good work!
Tried these this week. Delicious!
Congrats on the weight loss, nice channel.
I use 93% Grass fed from Aldi often. Adding a little avocado oil into the meat before you form the patties will help keep it from drying out as bad... still don't overcook it.
I was gonna say you look a lot slimmer. Good going!
Bro you getting jacked 🤙🏼 keep up the work
Your arms looking good brother 💪🏾
Bro, I'm not on a diet and I want to eat this!! My mouth literally started watering like crazy looking at that finished burger
Gosh man, you look huge!! Congratulations boy!!
You’re awesome and very well done.❤
One thing I like to do with sauce is instead of the light mayo use non fat Greek yogurt. Adds a lot more protein and cuts down the fat even more.
Congrats and You look Yummy... but i always thought that. Thanks for the series!!!
Just a Lil bit more salt and a thinner smash would be absolutely perfect for a bit of crunch to the burger👌
Respect on the soundtrack.
Can you post what you usually eat in a week? That's some crazy weightloss and I'd love the insight!
“But healthier” would be a fire series!!!!
