I understand why JB is stuck, the type of music he likes sounds more like mellow soulful r&b ( basing this off of the songs he was listening to for inspiration ) but once he plays the song that he thinks jyp would like you can tell the difference, he's having trouble producing a song that will sell not a song that he likes and would listen to. I don't listen to his group and have no prior knowledge of what he likes I'm just observing, but I kinda feel bad for the kid. He's just trying to please the majority and suppressing what he would like to make. Respect to JB for having to deal with shit like that.
I was thinking the same thing. JYP doesn’t give them any artistic freedom it’s all about what HE likes and what would sell.
I think so too, since jyp has been holding him back for a long time already.
I think the same too. But JYP has his point. He just simply pointed it out that you have to somehow balance your own taste and also the listeners. I think it is the hardest part of being a musician. Able to deliver what you want to say to the audience is really important.
JB writes and produces songs that he puts on sound cloud under his producer name Def. that are definitely more his own style. Unfortunately like you said JYP doesn’t let him release that stuff with GOT7 :(

I started watching this ep for hwasa and loco, but I also ended up being invested in jb’s and Kim taewon and jongseo’s parts too. It’s just their challenges and processes are pretty different that they’re so interesting

Hwasa and Loco were so cute together, and I really like their positive energy. Just watching them makes you smile and be happy.
I felt sorry for JB and the fact that he's in an agency that doesn't foster individual creativity. All of the 3 songs that he presented were fine but JYP barely listened to them. Just think about what JB could accomplish if he was supported more or with another agency.
Tracey Hayase yeah I definitely agree on the individuality that is needed in creating music but At least JYP’s system is better now that it used to be. Maybe, it might change again (for the better) in the future.
Maybe not everything that is self produce mean it’s good he actually got good advice. JB also need to produce and study more to get better.

This show is actually so inspiring wow. Originally came for Hwasa and Loco, stayed for JB, but fell in love with Jong Seo and Taewon. The latter are true masters of their craft and it was so beautiful watching the younger ones really take their words to heart and treat them with the respect due to them as veterans and greats in the industry. Fighting!
Why is no one talking about that song at the very end... incredible how can he still sing with such power and control after so many years

What's great about this show is the progress it's made since the pilot episode. Getting artist from various genres & showing the producing aspect is really something fans don't get to see much of. AOMG has been involved since pilot so it didn't surprise me to see Loco on here again. I like how it's helping to break down negative SK norms that idols can't produce music but also helping to create collabs we never would've gotten.
It's a long shot but I'd reeeeeally hope that RM/Suga/J-Hope would be here someday ... It would be awesome to see the process of how they come up with all those masterpieces 🙏

I liked JB's third song, 'feel me'. It sounds like a GOT7 song. Also 'rainy' is a fabulous song. JB is so talented as are the other members of GOT7 who also write their own songs. I'm glad they do not have to get sole permission from JYP to release music. Hopefully JYP can be more supportive of his artist experimenting with other types of music.
