Casting Parker Posey as Dr Smith was right on track. It was surprising to have Dr. Smith be a woman but it works and I think that is greatly due to Parker Posey's interpretation of this character. Smith works everything to her advantage as Jonathan Harris did but rather than take the comedic role he pursued for the audience of his time Parker Posey is going on a mind bending journey for the viewers of our time. You never know exactly when those bits of the actual 'good little girl' she remembers are going to surface. It's quite surprising to see it happen when it does. Interestingly, she shows far more honesty about and to herself then she probably did during her life before the Resolute. 'Why did you do that?' '.....I said it because it was the right thing to say...' Can't wait to see more of this character and the show itself.
I am very happy to hear Parker Posey talk about the original cast, and Irwin Allen. I am happy she shows an interest in the 60's TV show. I am very much looking forward to her performance as Dr. Smith. Fantastic interview Mike, she really opened up to you!
Parker Posey is the real star of this series. She created a love to hate character in Dr Smith that was extremely important to this reboot. imagine this show without this creepy Dr Smith keeping you on edge and wanting to know if she gets her personal redemption or demise, then you have to admit that 50% of this show would have no intriguing value or side story to keep the show interesting when they are not fighting robots. FACT: without Robot and Dr Smith, The dysfunctional Robinson family was not interesting enough on their own to keep the story going. Excellent job, Parker Posey, You are the true gem in this series!!
I understand she is portraying the character of Dr. Smith " BUT" she is NOT ! Dr Smith she is an imposter. Bill Mumy who had a small cameo In the Netflix Pilot Is the Real Dr Smith. My opinion She's too much of a Psychpath to play this part. It's OK to be a villain but Lost In Space always had a likeable Villian & her portrayal is way too dark... I wish Bill Mumy would come back & expose her for what she is. AN IMPOSTER even Don knows she's not Smith. I don't hate her as an actress. I just feel this portrayal of aka Dr. Smith Tarnished Jonathan Harris's role as Dr.Smith I like the new Series but just not a fan of Parker Posey

Larry Lee Moniz she was quite intense. I can’t wait to see how charismatically manipulative her Dr. Smith is.
She's mentioned she grew up watching reruns of the old show... cool that she gets to play a key part in the reboot.
